why? because we are so sinful and defiant in our ways other than God's ways that He had to die for an unworthy and undeserving lot like us. If you yes you, dont believe that Christ came for you as well, then I guess you will miss the boat if you dont get yourself right and hurry along.

For us. Nothing but perfection was good enough to be sacrificed as a substiture for us. In the Old Testament days a perfect lamb, without spot or blemish was used as a sin offering. Jesus was to be the last sacrifice. He took all the punishment that we deserve so that we won't have to be punished. All we have to do now is accept that gift and live our lives in a way that honours God and His Son which means following the teachings in His word.

Actually, tom2, "the plan" started before the foundation of the world. In the book of Revelation, Jesus is referred to "as the Lamb slain before the foundation of the world." To answer the question, Why was Jesus crucified? He was crucified that all who would receive Him would have eternal life with Him and the Father.

Jesus was crucified for the sin of the world. Without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sins. Jesus came into this world to become Man to be the perfect sacrifice on the Cross for us. Jesus is the perfect Lamb of God.

The plan started in genesis right after adam and eve sinned.Then throughout the old testament prophecy was that he would die for us. Read Isiah 53.During jesus,s ministry he told his disciples that he would die and on the third day rise again.It was Gods plan of salvation,our lords blood was all that God would accept to cover the sins of all time all people all over the earth.Thats why.

Among other reasons, God became incarnate to experience the entire human condition in order to redeem humanity. Since Adam, death is part of this condition, so God Incarnate, as it were "borrowed" death--something alien to His divine nature--in order to conquer it in His human nature.

So we can have eternal life in him, up in heaven. Jesus died so that we could be free, be bore our burdens for us, he took every sin, with him on the cross. Jesus was born to die, so that we might live.

PART ONE:
Rom 3:10 "There is none righteous, no, not one"
Rom 6:23 "the wages of sin is death" Ezekiel 18:4 "the soul that sinneth, it shall die."
Heb 9:22 "without shedding of blood is no remission."

PART TWO:
Jesus died on Calvary to pay the penalty for sin. He himself was sinless and therefore could be the substitution for you and me. He is the propitiation (payment) for our sin debt.
Romans 3:25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
