I know some parts of the bible, but I do not know it all. I may have read the bible from kiver to kiver but that doesn't mean I understand what I read. Only the Holy Ghost can help me understand.

I know the God of the Bible, the author.

My people perish for a lack of knowledge.spiritual knowledge, thats the answer. you can know scripture inside, outside, upside down, and backwards. BUT until you aplly it to your daily life in all your decisions, and all the circumstances, and all your responses to people around you. Then you aren,t living in the truth.the bible is the living word of God for teaching ,correcting and encouraging beleivers. Not just some book of written words. It ain,t fiction folks.

It makes no difference how well you know the bible, I know people who can quote it word for word but do not understand it's true meaning. Without the leading of the Holy Spirit into truth, the word that you believe can bring death to you. And many are perishing because of what they believe.

Yep thats the problem with the world. We take a simple thing like Gods word then analyze it to death until it is molded into what a methodists, baptist, protestant, weslyan or whoever thinks it should be and then we argue about it and call it doctrinal diofferences. watch out for the lighting bolts brothers and sisters they are on the way.which side will you be on the sheep side or the goat side?

ALAN, I will tell you the main reason we have the bible.GOD revealed himself in it for a reason.Just as your body needs food to liveYour spirit needs spiritual food also, and friend that can only be gotten in the word of our all mighty God.without gods word your spirit would have no food.I read scripture and think about it every day cause just as I need food to live my spirit will always need the word whether I realize it or not.

I will tell you when you know the bible well. WHEN scripture finally enters your mind during your daily life and you begin to notice how Gods word is changing your thoughts, and more important your attitudes and reactions to all the things going on around you.And when you realize it man what a wonderful peace.

The knowledge of the Bible is like an onion it has a multitude of layers (insights). I consider myself to be on the outer layer. I am living in full expectation of the layers be pealed back for my understanding when I walked the streets to gold. Acquiring this knowledge will require no effort on our part it will be automatically given us as part of our inheritance as childern of the King

Alan,
I have been reading and studying the Bible for 12 years, and still new things pop out at me in places I know that I have read many times before. God's Word is alive, it's not just words in a book. I believe God's Word speaks to us as He allows and that is why no one knows and understands everything in the Bible, especailly Revelation.

There would be no need for Christianet if we all knew our Bibles well!

"MY people perish for lack of knowledge." We are to grow up in all aspects of Him. I think what you folks meant to say is: "I must increase, but He must decrease." The more you know Him, the more you know you're a wretched sinner saved by grace. The deeper you walk with him, the more you grieve over your sins and realize how much of yourself you need to get rid of. Amen?

I am with you Madison. The more Bible i learn the more i realize I don't know everything. No one ever arrives. It is a continuing journey of learning new revelation as we draw closer to the Lord Jesus.
---Tsuanne on 6/9/06

I think I know the Bible fairly well, but not nearly as well as I would like to - I will never stop learning God's word. I just love spending time in God's word via these Blogs.

The longer I am a Christian, I find I know less and less.
