There is nothing to indicate that we cannot.

God says "Do NOT test Me"! The Bible says that we are to test God in tithes & offerings, that He will bless us. This is the only place we are allowed to test God, other than that we are NOT allowed to test God.

2. When we pursue an answer and always come up wrong, we cannot figure out what is happening, Always check to see if you have asked the right question before you pursue the answer. When I want to learn how to know and do the will of God, I can find no better model than Jesus. He prefectly completed every assignment God gave Him to do. He never failed to do the will of the Father. He is a good example to follow.

What is God's will for my life is not the right question. I think the right question is, "What is God's will?" Once I know God's will, then i can adjust my life to Him. In other words, what is it that God is purposing where I am? Once I know what God is doing, then I know what I need to do. The focus needs to be on God, not my life! if you ask the wrong question, you are going to get the wrong answer."Sometimes we assume that every question is a legitimate question.

Why would anyone who knows Him, want to test Him?

part 2 Actually my faith grows from Gods word full filling itself in my life.In your mind you might consider it a test when you try to make deals with God. but God don,t need anything you got. Our God is in the giving business, we are in the need to receive business.the problem is most of the time we either are too stupid to realize that we allow the flesh to interfere with are true needs and are wants.jesus explained about worry and wants but we are so dense.

The only test directly from God that comes to mind I believe is in Micah. It is about tithing. God directing challenges you to test him about blessings received arter you are obidient in your giving to him.

I don't test God because I know he can do all things. But I do try the spirits in others, to see if they be of God or not.
---Rebecca_D on 6/12/06

Yes Bruce you are correct. Perhaps the question was poorly stated. The test is to find out exactly what God's will is. And the question has to do with are we permitted to do this. I already gave the answer away.

Bruce5656, We can try the spirits but we should never try to test GOD. If I misunderstood you tell me in more detail.
---Thomas_D. on 6/12/06

The point of the question was not can we put God to a "test" in the sense you seem to have taken it.

"Putting out a fleece" was not "testing" God, it was asking God to make his will clear.

How about it Mima, is that what you meant? Test to see what His will is? (Not putting God Himself to the "test?")
---Bruce5656 on 6/12/06

We are told to try the spirits, whether they are of God or the devil. How dare me to test God. He will test me if He wants.
