Show me someone who has been Born again by the Holy Spirit and I will pay you 10K. Yes, I have never found anyone like this and I surely would love to find just ONE! It would be worth it to me! Because then I would be his 'water boy'. Of course they could not have any sin in them and they also could not believe any lie.

James::I read your post & naturally you speak like one who is apostate. But let me refer you to Genesis4:7also Genesis 6:3.To eann the favour of God you have to attain Perfection which is given from ABOVE, NOT AGAIN.The holy spirit only resides in the hearts of the pure.Christians should realise & understand that.JESUS was Pure as a MAN- ARE YOU?
---Emcee on 1/4/08

To be born again is to begin life anew in the spirit in which you've recieved from on High.

Follow where it leads knowing that God is walking next to you, keeping you covered from Evil, and as the fallen angels protest, and cause the world to rise against you, you stand unshaken by the grace and power of the Almighty God who is set on High.

For his hand is truly upon you and all the dark forces of Hell cannot stop it.
---Pharisee on 1/4/08

I noticed something since I got born again in the 80's. In recent years Catholics are throwing that term around a lot and using it for themselves. Catholics are not born again. They cannot be. A born again Christian would never follow the ways of the Catholic Church. The Holy Spirit inside us will not allow it. When I was a Catholic, I did not see this.

Rickey, if you read further in John you will notice that after this little speel, they then went around baptising. Yes we are born again spiritually, but the means is through water baptism. Read my other Bible references.

As for the other two passages, they are not about the process of being born again. But they confirm the spiritual nature of our new life in Christ.

Reading replies on blogs here, it is very obvious that there are not many people really born again in reality. many profess to love Jesus Christ, but then commit adultery, fornication, take drugs, drink to drunkeness, disobey the commandments, blaspheme God's name, abuse their spouses and children, and practise many abominations in God's sight, yet rush to the church to shout praise God I am saved every sunday. they then wonder why so many ignor what they say with their lips.

In John 3:3-7 Jesus was talking about being born-again spiritually. In 1Thessalonians 5:23 and Hebrews 4:12 it lets us know that we are a spirit, have a soul(mind, will, emotions), and live in a body. When we except Jesus as Lord and Savior, our spirit gets born-again or ,as the original context or the scripture says, "BORN FROM ABOVE".
BORN-AGAIN means BORN FROM ABOVE SPIRITUALLY.
---Rickey on 5/7/07

it means born of the spirit.as jesus you die to the flesh and are born again of the spirit.a spiritual life in jesus.no longer thinking and acting in the flesh but walking and talking and perceiving in the spirit.THATS BORN AGAIN.

Bruce:Reading your words of wisdom & seeing the similartity of what is called born again in the concept of Gods word.To accept in your Heart the God from above.WE have this same belief when we. for the first time recieve the Body & Blood of Jesus in Our First Communion, this realisation is brought home to us & our intellect at an early age & we are taught to love Jesus. You however wait to be awakened to the fact that Christ Plays an important part on realisation at a different age & stage of your life.
---Emcee on 6/21/06

Bruce- I've tried. It's useless. When 90 % of the people on here argue with scripture and twist it to mean what they want it to mean, and ignore the entire old testament completely, what more can I say? I'm not going to argue with stubborn hardheads. I will say that "there is a way that SEEMETH right to a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death." Prov 16:25
---T.S. on 6/16/06

Emcee,
To clarify, "second Adam" refers to the fact that there have been two men who were representative of the whole human race. The "first" Adam who was the father of us all brought death and the "second" Adam, Jesus, who also represented all of humanity on the cross, dying for all, brought life. 1 Corinthians 15:22, "For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive."
---Bruce5656 on 6/15/06

Emcee - Born-again and saved are the same thing. "Born from above" is it's meaning.
---Helen_5378 on 6/15/06

Nicodemus was also a part of those who prepared and anointed the Body of Christ for His burial. He was definitely a believer of our Father God because when he heard and saw the Truth, Nicodemus followed Christ until he had understanding, no longer being a servant to religion and so-called christianity, but being in the service of our LORD.
---Nyte on 6/15/06

Hello Bornagainer [1 of 2] John - Chapter 3 clearly teaches Nicodemus most definitely believed in Christ Jesus. With all of his wealth, power and knowledge, when he came in the night to ask Christ questions, he called Him Rabbi, which means Teacher. Nicodemus taught the traditions of mankind until he opened his ears and eyes to the Truth of Fathers Word. He later became a disciple for Christ, and was with Joseph of Arimathea when the body of our Lord was claimed in Pilate's court.

"Born Again" means being "Born from Above." One can only be born once. We all are created for our Father God's pleasure, and it was His pleasure that we be born from above in a flesh body, with His breath of life [Spirit] breathed into us. Genesis 2:7 says, And the LORD God formed man [of] the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
---Nyte on 6/15/06

Emcee - 1 Corinthians 15:45 says "And so it is written, "The first man Adam became a living being." The last Adam became a life-giving spirit." The last Adam is Jesus Christ. Also read Romans Chapter 5.

Emcee,
Jesus is the "second Adam"

Romans 5:14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.
1 Corinthians 15:45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.

PART ONE:

"Born again" as it appears in John 3:3,7 is a translation of the Greek "gennao anothen". Literally, "born from above". Jesus was talking to a man about the difference between being born to human parents (physical birth) and being born from above (spiritual birth).
---Bruce5656 on 6/15/06

PART TWO:
In a real sense being born from above is like being born over again in that it marks the beginning of a new life in which we have been adopted into God's family. II Cor 5:17, Gal 6:15, John 1:12 I John 3:1
---Bruce5656 on 6/15/06

PART THREE:
This concept of being born over again or born anew is expressed in 1 Peter 1:23, where "born again" is a translation of the Greek "anagennao". Literally, to be born anew; "Being born again, not of corruptible seed (physical life), but of incorruptible (spiritual life), by the word of God (Jesus), which liveth and abideth for ever."
Being born again or born from above, is not something that takes place by

PART FOUR:
accident but is the direct result of believing in Jesus Christ and his sacrifice on our behalf for the forgiveness of sin and receiving Gods gift of eternal life. Note that a gift cannot be earned or purchased or it is no longer a gift. A gift is only a gift if we can freely accept it just because it is offered. This negates the concepts of DOING anything to achieve salvation.
---Bruce5656 on 6/15/06

PART FIVE:
That means ANY religious act or good work. Romans 6:23, "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
---Bruce5656 on 6/15/06

Emcee,
#1 YES! He comes in in the Person of the Holy Spirit and cleans up that sin. He removes the stain of original sin and gives life - His life. The old man, who was dead in his sin, becomes born from above - made alive spiritualy. Born the second time, just like Jesus said. He comes in response to a penetintent heart Psm 51:17, brings life and sets one free from the need to sin. Paul refers to it as being freed from the law of sin and death. Rom 8:2
---Bruce5656 on 6/15/06

Helen::Jesus is NOT the second Adam.--He is the son of GOD ,the 2nd Person of the Blessed Trinity,He is GOD.

Mima::You are an advocate of "Born Again"I have a question. If born again with sin on your soul, would God come into your sinful heart? My answer would be NO- what is yours.#2You assume, he has come into your heart & he has not,(because of sin,) then who takes possession of that soul & will the person be deluded into thinking he is born again. So does the verse in Jn3:3 today who have so many denominations, each with his own Belief.Because V3 says FROM ABOVE

T.S.,
Why don't you enlighten us?
---Bruce5656 on 6/13/06

I was born into this world into Adam, then when I got saved I was born-again into Jesus the second Adam.
---Helen_5378 on 6/13/06

Just wanted to add that when you were born the first time, you have no choice about it. Neither does anyone who's "born again" the 2nd time, but spiritually 'from above': God chooses to save us (Ephesians 1:4); not the other way round, because "you were dead in your trespasses and sins," (Ephesians 2:1) and unable to do so! He decides who will be His 'born again' children. Asking Him to save you, simply affirms His prior will (predesination; Ephesians 1:5,11).
---danie9374 on 6/13/06

Jesus spoke to Nicodemus about "born again" because Nicodemus was not a believer - repeat, he was NOT a believer.

Believers had been born again and this phras is being abused, trampled on, messed up big time by the majority of "christians".

When a person gets saved, that person is born again. They have the spirit of Christ dwelling inside them, making that person part of God for he lives in that saved person.

Part 9 - We are unable while clothed in our flesh bodies to see into the dimension of the Heaven or Spirit realm, but every soul that is born from above has a flesh body and a spiritual body within. I Corinthians 15:45 says, And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam [was made] a quickening spirit. I Corinthians 15:49 says, And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.

Part 8 - John Chapter 3, Verse 8 says, The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit. Continuing the thought from the previous verse, we must realize that we have two bodies, a flesh body and a spirit body.
---Nyte on 6/13/06

Part 7 - Jesus is simply telling us not to allow our minds to be amazed at the teaching of being born from above because all souls belong unto our Father God. We all are created for our Father Gods pleasure, and it was His pleasure that we be born from above in a flesh body, with His breath of life [Spirit] breathed into us. Genesis 2:7 says, And the LORD God formed man [of] the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
---Nyte on 6/13/06

Part 6 - Verse 20 says, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Verse 21 says, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told [you] in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. Returning to John Chapter 3, Verse 7 says, Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
---Nyte on 6/13/06

Part 5 - Galatians 5:22 says, But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Verse 23 says, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. Jesus said that if one is not born from above in the Spirit, that one could not inherit the Kingdom of God. Galatians 5:19 says, Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are [these]; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

Part 4 - This is the teaching that Jesus is explaining to Nicodemus. Verse 6 says, That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. This is Father Gods two-fold Plan of Salvation, to be born in a flesh body, but fashioned in His spiritual image, or attaining unto His spiritual attributes, which, can be explained as the fruits of the Spirit.
---Nyte on 6/13/06

Part 3 - Christ explains it to us in Verse 5 which says, Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and [of] the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. Born Of Water does not mean water baptism as most people believe, but born in the womb of a woman surrounded by the uterine water sac from Father God above, which is of the Spirit of God.
---Nyte on 6/13/06

Part 2 - Gennao {ghen-nah'-o} means to be born, of women giving birth to children. Anothen {an'-o-then} means from above, or of things which come from heaven or God. Verse 4 says, Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? Like most people, Nicodemus did not understand what it means to be born from above.
---Nyte on 6/13/06

Most people do not realize that when they are saying born again they are really saying, Born From Above. Born Again [Born From Above] is a phrase derived from the teachings of Jesus in John - Chapter 3. Verse 3 says, Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Born Again is gennao anothen meaning born from above.
