Bulls and goats blood cover sin...Is Jesus Christ a bull or goat???..Christ came to do away with sin. Lamb of God who takes AWAY sin. Nothing can release us from sin, accept the blood. We cant take credit, its not confession or even asking...
While we were yet sinners, HE forgave us.
Its finished.

Both. Our Sins are covered by the Blood of Christ. Jesus remembers them no more.

If we confess our sins and repent we get forgiveness but, for them to be "covered" or "removed", we have to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ.Acts 2:38,Acts 19:1-5,Acts 4:10-12.

It's forgiven.

1John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
---Bible on 12/14/07

Under the new covenant(New Testament) our sins are removed. Under the old covenant(Old Testament) the Jewish people sins were covered. Of course since 70 A.D. those wishing to worship under the old covenant have been denied a place of animal sacrifice which was the old temple. All this is very interesting. Joe Lieberman, a orthodox Jew has no place to sacrifice for the covering of his sins.

"As far as the east is from the west so far has He REMOVED our transgressions from us."

Upon confession of sin it is removed. "As far as the east is from the west so far has He removed our transgressions from us." The Blood of Jesus covers sin and blots it right out.

Call it what you will, once forgiven the record of our sin is gone.

Hebrews 10:17, "And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more."

Psalms 103:12, "As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us."

Colossians 2:13-14, "having forgiven you all trespasses; Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, ..., and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;"
