The Seven Deadly (or Cardinal) Sins is not exclusive to RC Doctrine.
The Eastern Churches refer to the Eight Passions. Vainglory is added to this list. I will admit the distinction between it and pride escapes me.

Jack--thanks for answering my question. Is this list part of RC doctrine? Or is it included in teachings of some protestant churches as well? These are not the same as what RCs call "mortal sins" are they? I'm just seeking information from anybody who knows.

Helen5368--Just because something is not in the Bible doesn't mean it's not true.
The very word BIBLE is not in the Bible, either.
Neither is Trinity.
Oddly enough, both terms were "made up."

I have just reread proverbs 6:16-19. And just as I suspected I am guilty of all seven deadly sins.(Perhaps on-the-quiet you can check about our own behavior) how can I right these wrongs(sins)? I can not it is impossible for me to accomplish this. However, I have been made acceptable in the beloved, and the beloved's name is-the Lord Jesus Christ our Savior. Glory hallelujah to his name. Thank you Jesus for what you have done.

The "seven deadly sins" are not in the Bible. Somebody made that up.

On another blog it was mentioned that gluttony was one of the seven deadly sins. I do not see gluttony on this list.
