Name Our Young Adult Group

Just looking for a name for our Young Adult group.
We are a charismatic church and a group of 19-30 year olds. Searching for a cool and exciting name (and catchy would be good) so we can ask people to come and join up with us.
Any ideas?

Two young adult groups in our area have these names:

Ignite the Fire!
The Glory Road
Excited about Jesus
Come Love with Us

How about "Come Fishing With Us".
---Helen_5378 on 3/9/07

Route 66, because you are following the route God layed out in ther Bible.
---bethie on 3/8/07

How about "Fishers of men?"
---NV_Barbara on 7/3/06

Precious, could you posssibly let us know when you choose a name?
---bethie on 7/2/06

Perhaps you could borrow the name, or part of it, from another ministry... such as Desiring God Fellowship, or His Servants... etc..
---daphn8897 on 6/30/06

Precious, I bet you never thought asking a simple question would involve such contention. The name of your group should depend on its mission. Is outreach a focus and/or in depth study of the word? Or is it more for lighter fellowship? Knowing that could help folks creative direction for a name.

RevHerbsSon, There is a big difference between speaking the truth in power and with authority and being rude. Jesus was not petty nor rude. Also, don't discount all "spirit filled" folk because of a few who misuse and misrepresent. We aren't all so prone to the flesh. Some of us even believe in the Sovereignty of God
---daphn8897 on 6/30/06

Lee ... give us a break ... I have only 85 words! And the P view as expalined to me in great detail says that we have no free will, & God does all the choosing & deciding. I could not see any other reason that we should have a group exclusively for Christians, with no room for the enquirer.
---alan8869_of_UK on 6/30/06

How about "The Servents" Since you are already serving Christ. And the followers will come. It is a great idea to get groups going for the cause of God. Blessings in putting the group together.
---lee_1 on 6/29/06

What a mess you made of discribing predestination Alan. You have to study it to understand it, to be able to give a true statement on it. I don't believe Rebecca was speaking of predestination to begin with.
---lee_1 on 6/29/06

How about C.A.R. Christ's Ambassador's Revived. Goes with 2Corinthians 5:20
---bethie on 6/29/06

Rebecca ... #2 But if you take the predestinationalist view, one is either chosen or not, and those chosen would not think it necessary to attract unchosen folk to the group, so that they can hear, because God will either choose them or not, irrespective of whether they belong to the group.
---alan8869_of_UK on 6/29/06

Rebecca ... #1 I suppose our differing view is because we see the purpose of the group differently. It seems to me that it needs to have an element of outreach, which would mean that enquirers would need to feel welcome.
And the questioner does not say the group is only for Christians.

Sorry I don't have a positive suggestion to make but I thing 'The Chosen' could be mistaken for a brain-washing cult simply because the leaders of most cults see themselves as 'the chosen one'.

I see I have been edited 'son.' All of my blog does not appear, Mod's choice. Be positive instead of trying to tear down!

Believe ALL the bible or none.
---Steve on 6/29/06

Well wouldn't the people have to be saved in order for them to claim to be a Chrisitan? We are chosen by God and if others want to be chosen as well, then hopefully they'll get saved and be chosen.
---Rebecca_D on 6/29/06

I like the title "The Vinyard." Christ is the Vine, and we are all the branches, but especially young ones who are just starting their serious walks with the Lord.

Not sure about "The Chosen" because it makes the group sound exclusive and only for those who are already saved. I don't think an enquirer, or seeker, would be comfortable joining in with a group with that name. It would seem dishonest.
Mind you, I speak as one who believes we have free-will in whether to seek, listen or accept Jesus. Others will have differing views about this.
---alan8869_of_UK on 6/29/06

How about "Streets Of Gold".
---Helen_5378 on 6/29/06

"SPIRITUAL FRUIT", I pray that your group prospers and grows, just like spiritual fruit.
---lynet on 6/28/06

I like the name "The Chosen" because we are chosen by God, handpicked by God himself. To me that is Awesome and amazing.

THE VINE

John 15:5

5.I am THE VINE, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing

RevHerbsSon- Jesus was angry You are just rude.

If you want to argue with some Charismatics, go to a blog where they are discussing their beliefs. These kids are just asking advice on a name for their group!
---Donna2277 on 6/28/06

Saved by grace.

Well wherever your from or the street or city, just take the name of it and add the word family. I personally like "The Chosen", because we are chosen by God. Handpicked by God, doesn't that just give you chills?
---Rebecca_D on 6/28/06

Part 2)Oh and fellow brothers and sisters? My brothers and sisters dont bark like dogs and get "slain in the spirit". They believe as I do...Let everything be done decently and in order.
---RevHerbsSon on 6/28/06

I love proverbs 16:2 but please lets not forget the last part of the verse...But God trieth the spirits. So am I saying this in the flesh or the spirit? Problem is..there is no way in the world anyone could follow Christ...That is why God allowed Paul to write in his(Gods) words be ye followers of me. 1 cor 4 16, 1 cor 1 11. Jesus was born without sin. Paul was born with.
---RevHerbsSon on 6/28/06

Dap...are you telling me Jesus never so much as raised his voice? Jesus was never rude? I would call name calling kind of on the rude side wouldn't you? Read Matt. chap 23 in its entirity (KJV) and you will see exactly how rude our saviour can be. If Jesus never angered then please tell me why he turned over tables for a church yard sell? Wait! Mark 3:5...Jesus did anger.

HerbsSon, you obviously are a studied man, especially when it "seems right in your own eyes" to show such irreverence to brothers and sisters in Christ. You speak of all you have studied and all you have studied includes just about everything but Christ and His work. Your attitude toward others is what renders ineffective everything you say.
---Linda6563 on 6/28/06

RevHerbsSon, You obviously haven't studied the Word truly in depth, and your comments illustrate you haven't studied the person of Jesus at all. He was never sarcastic or rude, but you seem inclined to insult rather than really see where people are coming from or where their hearts are. I would rather deal with the ugliest of sinners than a contentious, self-righteous man, the type of man you appear to be.
---daphn8897 on 6/28/06

Funny, I have studied the charismatic churches doctrins, I have studied the tongues movment, and I have studied "christian rock" in depth. All these things unkind or not are nothing more then a cult, and I truly say that out of love. Jesus was a little bit more harsh when telling people they are going to hell then most would have you to believe.
---RevHerbsSon on 6/27/06

Hmmm how about...

The Stones (or Rolling Stones) 1Pe 2:5

The Wayfarers (Acts 9:2)

or...

The Lost & Found Dept. ;o

RevHerbsSon, That was unkind, and not at all edifying. There was a conference back in April called "Together for the Gospel" which featured folks like John MacArthur, Al Mohler, Mark Dever, John Piper, R.C. Sproul, and others (there is a website as well). Perhaps it would do you well to focus on Jesus and His completed work rather than taking jabs at folks.
---daphn8897 on 6/27/06

How about charismatic cult?
---RevHerbsSon on 6/27/06

Depends. Is this a Singles group or a young adults married?
This is a good singles title:
Singles for Jesus: serving the Lord together.
Married;Disciples for Christ, uniting together to serve.
