"The bible says that we are as filty rags.
---Rebecca_D on 7/30/07"

The Bible does NOT say that. I challenge you to look it up. What it does say and what you think it says can make a world of difference to someone who is in Christ.

Paraphrasing Galations 3 -- 'Or, you foolish individual, who has bewitched you?' Salvation is a gift from our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! Do you really wish to disdain His gift and try working your way into heaven?????

"To me we have to earn our way in. Meaning that since the fall of Adam and Eve, we now have to work at keeping our relationship with Christ and our heart be spotless before him. The bible says that we are as filty rags.

Gal 1:6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:

Gal 1:7 Which is not another, but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.

Gal 1:8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.

Gal 1:9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

For someone who smokes, that is a very dangerous "gospel" you believe. Oh, I forgot. As long as you don't kill yourself with a bullet, a rope, pills, or carbon monoxide, you are okay and on your way to earning the way back in.

"To him who worketh is the reward reckoned of debt and not of grace." If the reward is of debt, it is no longer grace.

that hinders the direct divine inspiration of the Father and the firmness of character produced thereby. So the Father has driven man out of his possession, exiled from His rest and protection as long as he chooses to embrace his own carnal mind directed by its perceptions. And to prevent this mind from entering His rest He places imaginary likenesses, which kindles destruction through sensually enticing perversions and misdirections.

The Father sent this carnally minded man forth from the garden of eden. This man will not be under the Fathers' protection or defense, nor will he experience the pleasure and peace of life under that protection, for that life is embraced by faith. Because the carnally minded are in opposition against the principles of the Father and not under obedience, nor can be, he is sent forth to be used as a tool serving to bring about an awareness of the cause and result of the mental enslavement and bondage (cont.)

Since the human being decided to be as one who collects his own thoughts to discern, consider or determine to do good or to make good for nothing, before he took upon himself also to seize power by using his own efforts as the means of taking hold of the firmness, restoration and the ability to endure that only Christ can provide; and consume into his mind this sensually based mentality as the means of saving himself always, (Cont)

#2 The tree of Life is now in heaven and we, as sons of God, are able to eat of that Tree of Life, Christ and be full. No one is allowed to eat of the Tree of Life now unless He has been redeemed because the fruit of that tree is eternal.
---Debbie on 6/28/06

When Adam and Eve ate of the tree of good and evil, they lost their innocense, they sinned and that sin was passed down from generation to generation. The reason God shut up the garden and guarded the tree of LIFE is because, if Adam had been allowed into the garden and eat of the tree of LIFE, he and all mankind would have had no hope of salvation, they would have been stuck in that sinful condition for Life, the life of all mankind, because they would have eaten of the tree of LIFE.

I dont know about all that... here is the simple answer:

"And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever: Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden..." Gen. 3:22-23

Because inside the garden is the tree of life. Should a person enter the garden and eat of the fruit of the tree of life that person would live for ever. And if such were the case you can see there would be a little problem. A person can't die, will not accept Jesus Christ as his personal savior, that would mean that his sins would never be dealt with in judgment.

If you are "losing life at the place of intimacy" and still having issues of blood (not able to get along with those who are cleansed by the blood~division), then you are not pregnant with God's true purpose. Only one cure for that. You must by faith reach out and touch the hem of His garment, the very bottom of His clothing, the very least of these His brethren.

The Word does not tell us that "we" are filthy rags. It says that "our righteousness" is as a filthy rag. In other words, going about to establish your own righteousness by the law (earning your way) is what is filthy. We have no righteousness apart from the free gift. That phrase "filthy rag" refers to a woman's menstrual cloth and implies a loss of life.

The brazen altar (the cross) was in the east of the Tabernacle of Moses and where the cross was, there was a tomb (John 19). It was that tomb Jesus came out of in resurrection glory. Hence, the eastward movement. The wise men came from the east to worship Him. Once you have come into the dawning of a new day, all that is left is to come worship Him. That is probably more information than you were looking for but I got in a flow. Sorry.

Those swords cut away everything that is not Christ and Him crucified (the two edged word), leaving nothing but "let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus". I think it interesting that Adam and Eve went "eastward" when they were driven from the garden. The east represents the dawning of a new day and the dawning of the new day (sun coming up) is in the east. That new day came when Jesus was raised from the dead.

To keep the way of the Tree of Life. Those cherubim represent those in Christ, who are blessed to be a blessing. You can find that truth hidden in the picture of the mercy seat, the woven veil, and the white linen covering of the Tabernacle. The swords represent the word that flows from rest that divides between soul and spirit. It cuts away the carnality of the mind and renews it to the person and work of Christ.
