Live Together To Save Money

My boyfriend and I are thinking about getting married, but it is cheaper to just live together according to the tax laws. Should we just be married in God's eyes and not the government's so we can have more money to give to our church?

Render to Ceasar what belongs to Ceasar - that refers to taxes.

If the tax laws are too crazy where you are, then consider moving, but do not compromise on your faith. God bless and good luck with your marriage.

No, mam. If the two of you haven't officially gotten married don't move in together. The wages of sin is death or an end to something. If you two moved together you would be giving place to the devil. He could tempt you'll in premarital sex, etc. So don't do it. If you need housing or something trust God for it.(Matthew 6:33; Philippians 4:19)
I've seen folks move in together as girlfriend/boyfriend & they had sex. They regretted it. Got married & have tough times.

Read 1Corinthians7-9 It's better to marry than burn

As Christians we are to live by the law of God first and then follow the law of the land. The bible tells us that the law is for the sinners and lawless people. You are cheating God, yourselves adn the gov't when you live in sin. And it is like tax evasion. Don't you think that your statement is a little like rationalizing or possibly putting money before God?
We are not All crazy fanatics.

I would rather be married and be right in God's eyes and scrap pennies than to live with a boyfriend and have all the money in the world and die lost and go to hell. Whom are you trying to please you or God? To me the two of you sound cheap, sorry.

There is much more to this story than wanting to give more money to your church. Please, spend time in prayer and find the answers that you already have in your heart.

In the vernacular it's called "shacking up" I mention this so you know how to introduce your new arrangement to your friends.

I am sure if you ask the question often enough you will find the answer you are looking for. What you really want is for us to say it is ok so you can live in sin and won't be convicted about it.

That is why people seek other churchs. No because what was being preached was wrong, but what was being preached convicted you.

God is more interested in your obedience, purity and faithfulness than how much money you ll give to the church. So just hold on, make enough savings and get properly married in line with His word.

Jesus said to render unto Caesar what is Caesar's. I believe that meant, pay your taxes when they come due.

I believe that obedience to God is honored by God. If you don't obey Him regarding marriage and living together, and tax evasion, then you will deny yourself His richest blessing.

To be married in God's eyes you must of necessity be married legally i.e. in the government's eyes too. Otherwise you would be living in fornication which is sin. Are you born-again?
