"Grow" just as a baby does,
1st the "Milk"(Gospel, easy to digest/understand)
then the "Meat"(Gift's,Power's & Prophecies that are harder to digest/understand)...

Milk teaches Love,
Meat gives Spiritual Growth which gives one discernment of what IS Truth and what IS good and/or evil and the strength to flee from it...

It IS ones Spirit that my Father(God)hears,
If you can call Yahshua "Lord", It is only because the Spirit has told you that it is so, NOT all men have this Spirit...

Milk cleans the cup(Heart/Spirit),
Meat overflows it(Spirit)with Knowledge!

Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow. How does a lily grow? By being planted in the soil and sinking her roots deep within that soil to tap the water supply. Sink your roots deep within the Christ of the heavens. The branch that you are grows out of HIS roots. With joy draw from the wells of salvation and receive the light of the Son. That is how a lily grows. Consider the lilies.

Read your Bible, Pray, Praise, have fellowship with mature Christians, frequent good bible studies. Take the tests on these blogs and print out the answers. Study those. They are great studies for new christians. Repent and walk as did Jesus.

What I have learned is one has to learn how to surrender everything to Jesus and learn how to walk with Him in His Power and not our own. Check out John 15:5

Study and read the Word. Pray everyday and live the Word out in our lives as much as we can. We will grow daily as we practice the Word(holiness). Speaking the Word is important, too. Especially in tongues. This confuses the old thief(satan) and puts him on the run for his life...hahahahahaa!!! He's a coward, too. Praise God for Jesus.

By studying His word faithfuly and daily. That is how you go from being a "babe" in Christ to a mature saint in Christ. 2 Timothy 2:15. A child of God needs to study the word of God to grow in Christ. But as you study, always rightly divide the word of truth. You cannot just lift out a verse here and there which we do at times . The word of God is to be taught in its entirety, which in turn helps us to grow in the Lord.

"As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving." Col 2:6 & 7. "Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me." "As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love." John 15:4,9.

I had another thought on this question. God says "Come to Me as little children." I believe this verse answers your question perfectly. Children are dependent on their parents, as we should be dependent on God. Children also are eager to learn, as we should be eager to learn God's ways as His children.

What a great topic!! We grow in Christ through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. Our old hearts of stone are circumsized and replaced with a new heart from God. We become a new creature, a spiritual creature, being led by the Holy Spirit. We grow by the prompting of the Holy Spirit. Our life is no longer our own it belongs to God the Father through His Son by the Holy Spirit.

Heb 5:12 For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.

Heb 5:13 For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.

Sally, you must choose to follow jesus.study Gods word, and live they way it says.control your mind with spiritual thinking.bible says, no man of 2 minds will receive anything of God.for he is tossed to and fro like the wind.

Heb 5:14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

There is the milk of the word and the meat of the Word. the Word is nourishment for your inner man and our means of growth.

1pe 2:2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:

1co 3:2 I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.
