Does God Hear Everyone's Prayers

Does God hear everyone's prayers? I always thought that even if you were not saved, God would listen to you, is this not true?

mima if you want to be specific. When God chooses then He initiates the sinners prayer. Only prayer He will hear from a lost man or woman, is the sinners prayer.

DID not God say"Come to Me ALL who are weary & burdened and I will refresh you." This meams, ALL prayers are heard, the answer depends on what is good for you "According to His will"

God must hear at least one prayer of the unsaved, otherwise how would anyone ask the Lord to save them?

Jack; what does demons have to do with God doesn't hear a sinner praying except for reptentance? If the heart of a person is right with God, then God will hear his prayers. I am just going on what the bible says.

IMO, hanging a doctrine on "we know that God heareth not sinners" would be a bit shaky, as would making doctrine out of the blind man's next statement, "if this man of were not of God, he could do nothing"
(when we know that Satan also has miraculous powers).

I hope somebody understands what I'm trying to say because I don't know hermeneutics or the terms to express this.

RebeccaD #1- I may be getting in over my head with this comment. But what you quote from Jn 9:31 is spoken by the man born blind, in defense of Jesus, whom the Pharisees had just accused of being a sinner. The central issue was not whether God hears sinners, but rather whether Jesus, who had just performed an unprecedented miracle, was a man of God.

When a prayer is in line with the will of God then that prayer will be heard and answered affirmatively and effectually. One of the mysteries of God's plans is his decision to use puny little man and the foolishness of his preaching to accomplish God's desired outcome. If we pray in God's will success is certain. Otherwise we are in doubt concerning the outcome.

God heard the prayers of many people in the Old Testament. They were not born again.

Jer 23:26 says Am I a God at hand, saith the Lord, and not a God afar off? Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the Lord. Do not I fill heaven and earth?

Ps 94:9-10 He that planteth the ear, shall he not hear? he that formed the eye shall he not see? he that chastiseth the heathen shall not correct? He that teacheth knowledge, shall He not know.

How has God changed?

Rebecca D--This was said before Calvary--and it was said among people who didn't even know who the Messiah really was or was all about.

If you're going to believe this, you're going to have to believe that Jesus cast out demons by the prince of demons, because the ideas were said by the SAME PEOPLE.

Jack, you will find my answer in John 9:31. It is right there, so now you know that God doesn't hear a sinner praying unless asking for fogiveness.

God only hears the prayers of His children, that is those that are born-again. And He hears the prayer of a sinner who comes to Him to become born-again.

Rebecca D--give book, chapter, and verse for what you claim.

Unlike some people on these boards, I don't presume to know whose prayers God deigns to hear.
---Jack on 7/12/06

God doesn't hear the unsaved, only if they are asking forgiveness and accepting him into their life. God himself said this.

If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me:
