Rebecca ... Yes these blogs are resurrected ... This one TWICE first from July 06 to Sept 07, and then again from Sept 07 to March 08

And yes is irritating that your post is redated, but there is no doubt a technical reason for that ... But if so why don't the Mods explain why?

The reason fro the resurrection of these old blgs is probably the dearth of worthwhile new ones, or alternatively to reintroduce a vluable subjectwhen

It's not...lol. Alan, is this a trick question? Don't ya think this is going to cause another rucous like the witchcraft show question did? How is this question edifying the Body of Christ? What is it going to teach us? The Spirit is willing but the flesh is weak? NOPE! By knowing how many hours Alan, what will you do with that information?

YES Rebecca and I find it very annoying when old blogs have been 'redated' to look as if they were just posted!

When you are watching a show or movie that glorifes God,love, charity etc. let God "watch it with you". You may be surprised what he tells you and shares with you.

More than I should sometimes. History, Discovery, Travel Ch., INSP, and news can use a lot of a persons time.
If we want to get closer to God all that needs to be done is communing with Him. I find that in silence is when I hear the promptings of the Holy Spirit the best. Communing with the Holy Spirit is not a monologue but a dialogue and it is hard to have conversation with distractions.

How much do I watch tv? Not much. I do watch the news each day if God doesn't put me asleep first. And I enjoy the Cosby show, Andy Griffith. During commercials, I will mute and turn over and ooo and AAA. Communing with the living God.

A person can click on their name underneath any reply that they've made and it will show you all the replies you've made on different blogs. I do this and I find answers that I gave last year. but being posted again. Has anyone ever experience this as well?

I may watch a hour a day. (My dish got turned off, Ha). I am a stay at home mom and my children are 7 and 4 so they keep me on my toes alot. So we spend our time outside they play while I work in the garden. On the weekends when my husband comes home, we (me) are typing up his notes from the police academy, and we talk about what all went on during the past week, to catch eachother up.

Very little. Yet, if we take inventory of time actually spent, we would be surprised. Not telling you to get rid of your TV, but we may also want to keep an eye on cell phone, internet/computer and other technological and other distractions. Fact is, these can all be used for the glory of God or to distract us from our main duty - soul winning! Maranatha!

Television will never draw me closer to God. I rarely watch it. And the so-called preachers and teachers that are on it are just about all false teachers.

About 25 hours. I love tv.

I may watch tv for an hour a week. I stopped watching daily years ago. I've had spurts where I watched certain shows but I disapprove of most of the programing. PBS, NOVA, mostly documentaries, and shows like that are my favorites. They talk about life, other cultures, geography, animals, etc. I feel blessed when I watch the beauty of life, and how wonderfully God made it. The sad side for me is seeing the demise of our world by the hand of man. It makes me love and honor Him all the more.

# 3 What brings me closer to God is valid for me.
We are all dfferent.
There is every likelihood that some people find watching the TV brings them closer to God.

# 2 But you may be surprised what things do bring people closer to God.
Different things for different people. I find classical music brings me closer to God, and I would mention the following composers Beethoven, Bruckner, Brahms, Handel, Bach, Mozart among many others. ... (cont # 3)

# 1 I watch the news only.
You are probably asking this to point out that watching the TV does not bring yuo closer to God.
But the same applies to many things ... Should I neglect doing the washing because it does not bring me closer to God?
Should I not eat an ice-cream, because that does not bring me closer to God?
