How To Find Laying On Of Hands
How does one find a person who can heal by laying their hands on?
Moderator - Go to a Assembly of God, Church of God or Foursquare Church. Keep in mind only God can heal. The person(s) can pray for you, however it's God's will and timing that heals.

Sue, there is a womans group called Aglow International which is very good about praying for the sick. They are open to women of all denominations. Usually they advertise in the local newspaper when and where they meet. They are a wonderful group of commited Christians from all walks of life. Blessings

I will also add to the Moderator's names of churches, with the church, "Apostolic Assembly of the Faith (in Christ Jesus)", which also believes in the laying on of hands for healing as instructed in Mark 16:17,18+ James 5:14,15.

Mark 16:18 "Lay hands on the sick they shall recover". Can't recover without hands on. Who qualifies? Bible: "theses signs shall follow them THAT BELIEVE." Must believe in Supernatural Power Holy Ghost perform healings! FAITH- can't see or touch but with Faith things happen occur. "Don't lay hands on someone suddenly": Could be unforgiveness and often God won't touch till repentance. Could be futile for you lay hands on them and pray. Could be Unsaved and God doesn't have to touch because they're not of His. Times God will out of Mercy? Could have a demon as you begin to pray that devil will squirm to get away from Anointing? Person wants spirit gone that's causing problems, cast it out
lay hands on them...

first of all where does the Bible say we lay hands on ourselves, He (Jesus) says find the elders to do this, not anyone can do this, they have to be studied in the word and must fast for certain types of things, the Bible says strictly, do not lay hands suddenly on any man, so you cannot just go up to anybody and do this, maybe if the person has a demon, it can be passed over to you, so you have to read all about the subject, in context, don't pick and choose, or you'll end up sick yourself.

Go to a baptist church, they follow the bible without all the other mumbo jumbo.
Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:

You can lay hands upon yourself and ask God to heal you. That is what people who are laying their hands upon other people for healing are doing. Unless they are a false teacher/prophet they never take credit for the healing. The moderators suggestion of churches you may want to attend if you want other people to be there praying for you also. I have also known people who were healed after much prayer without any touching.

Seek the deliverer and He will send the deliverance. Seek the healer and He will send the healing. Amen?

Moderator: God's power is not limited to the three churches you mentioned. We have prayer for the sick and any other need in our church, which is done by trained prayer ministers. There are many, many churchs in my city that have laying on the hands and prayer for the sick that are not of those three denominations. I think you are misleading people when you tell them to only go to specific churches.
Moderator - The three denominations listed were suggestions. Who stated that it was a list of every church in every city around the world?

When Abraham went to sacrifice Issac, Issac asked his Father, where is the lamb?,Abraham said God will provide himself a sacrifice. Having faith to believe God, he went through the act of using his Son,but seeing the miracle of the Ram in the thicket, It is the same with us we obey Jesus by anointing with oil or laying on of hands, the prayer of agreement, doing the act in Faith but God provides the the healing by the lamb that is sacrificed for that healing, who is Jesus. Isaiah 53

Susie's answer is true I know of a great healing that took place when a person layed their own hands on themselfs. this healing invoved a large clearly seen bump on their face.

As concerned prayer, anointing with oil, and healing. Sometimes churches asked me to attend on a given Sunday morning in order to pray for someone in dire need in that church. The implication here is that little old me can be effective in praying the prayer of healing. Of course this implication is ridiculous! It is not the person praying or the oil that heals, it is a sovereign God who does the healing. We merely follow the instructions as given in the bible.

Prayer lists help us all to remember who to pray for and why. Of course the Bible doesn't say anything about prayer lists nor does it speak about paychecks.

I went to a Southern Baptist church for a while and never saw them lay hands on anyone.

When I had cellulitis that wouldn't go away even after five days in the hospital I went to the ministry where I once lived and had my ankle anointed and hands laid on and prayed for a healing. Ankle finally healed. Pentecostal church I attended also used oil and laying on hands not just for healing but for empowering one with the Holy Spirit. Down here I stay away from Southern Baptists, too many hypocrits in these Southern churches.

Yes, We are and independent Fundimental KJV Baptist Church. We believe what the bible says. We have anointed with oil and layed hands on people. Some were healed others not. Not because of lack of faith, but God's will.
As far as Southern Baptist: Anything with two heads is a monster.

I agree with moderator. But don't discount a prayer list. It's only a reminder to help church people remember which people need prayer. It's the prayer that counts, not the list. God heals by the laying on of hands and through those who have a "gift" of healing. He also heals in response to personal prayer without any human touch. Like any good physician, He works according to individual needs.

Is it the oil that heals or the prayer of faith?
---Elder on 7/21/06|
Mimi have you been to "most" Baptist Churches? If you went to one every day that would be 365. With 50 States you would visit 18,250 in 50 years. There are a lot more Baptist Churches than that so please don't make those statements.
The Bible says if any among you be sick let him (her) call for the Elders of the Church.
It is the sick persons responsibility to make the call not some speaker to call someone out of a crowd.
The Bible then says the Elders will anoint with oil and pray.
---Elder on 7/21/06|
Most Baptist churches do not anoint with oil and pray. What they do have is a prayer list that they will put you on. Does anyone know where a prayer list is mentioned in the Bible? Experiences have shown me that the moderator's answer is correct.
Moderator - Rev Herb's church may be different because it's an Independent Baptist Church. Is this correct Rev Herb? I agree with you Mima that the "typical" Southern Baptist Church tends to be more timid when it comes to the laying on of hands for prayer.
