The night I got saved there was absolutely no doubt in my mind that I was a sinner. It is because of sin that anyone gets saved. If you think you are a Christian just so you'll go to heaven, then you may not be born-again. There must be a conviction by the Holy Spirit of being a sinner and believing that Jesus died on the Cross for your sins to be a Christian.

I didn't become a christian just because I can go to heaven, I became a christian because of the Love that God the Father and Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit has given to me, Jesus died on the Cross for me and for my sins, and I have never known anyone who would die for me.mary4964

People like that are not only decieving themselves, they think they are deceiving God. They are making a big mistake, because God is the all see-ing, all-knowing God. A Christian should have a true relationship with Christ in which secrets of the Word is opened up to that person, which cannot be explained to non-Christians.

Heaven to me isn't the hollywood clouds & harps, it is a Paradise Earth that Jehovah meant it to be in the time of Adam&Eve, & he said he will restore like it was,making a new heaven & a new Earth. So Heaven is with us, but non-wicked.I donot know for sure if I will end up there or not, or just decay in the ground,but I have FAITH in the bible & that is what keeps me going.

not sure what you are implying with the question ending in be honest?do you think that some how we are able to fool God?I,am a christian because I believe jesus was who he said he was,that I,am a sinner, in need of I believe that thru jesus I receive the fre gift of heaven because of what jesus did on the can,t just say I,am a christian and expect to be heaven bound, it don,t work that way.

Tom, Of course heaven is in the spirit realm, thats what i've been trying to say. It's not some place way out there in space some where. If we have eyes to see, heaven is right in our hearts! So, is that air your breathing Neo??? "If real is what you can feel, smell, taste and see, then 'real' is simply electrical signals interpreted by your brain. Hope that is seen, is not hope "Rom 8:24"!!

billy,heaven is in the spirit realm.jesus is the treasure map,there just not an x that marks the spot.

sue,only God knows a heart.scripture tells us that many will be told by jesus I NEVER KNEW YOU. so actually honesty may not have a thing ,or mean a thing in many peoples lives,cause they honestly think they are going to heaven.

There may be many...or,they THINK they are Christians. An evangelist says, rightly, that sinners go to hell. The unsaved person is fearful, BUT either doesn't hear or doesn't understand the way of salvation. He responds to an invitation, goes to the front,is prayed for and congratulated. NO BODY makes sure he UNDERSTANDS the cross or the atonement or faith. He leaves believing he is now safe from hell... because he went forward and somebody TOLD him so. He may never hear the "Gospel" again.

(6).. So where is Jesus building the new Jerusalem, this place that He's building for us to live? In heaven? Mat 5:14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. The kingdom of heaven is within you. So where is it that we think heaven really is?
---Billy on 8/16/06

(5).. Eph 2:19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;
Eph 2:20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;
Eph 2:21 In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:
Eph 2:22 In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.
---Billy on 8/16/06

(4).. If we can't see that when Jesus ascended into the cloud when He left His deciples, and that clound was that great cloud of witnesses, which is His church, then how are we to understand the other great mysteries that are hid in God's word?
---Billy on 8/16/06

(3).. Do we even know where heaven is? Is it a geographical location some where, so far away that even the Hobble telescope can't see it? I don't think so. Where was Jesus going when He said that He was going to prepare a place for us, and where He was, we would be also?
---Billy on 8/16/06

(2).. I had quoted this scripture in another blog. I'll ask the same question again. Are there any takers that will show me "by the scriptures", that we go to heaven, or even hell after we die?
---Billy on 8/16/06

(1)..Are we promised heaven when we die?

Ecc 9:4 For to him that is joined to all the living there is hope: for a living dog is better than a dead lion.
Ecc 9:5 For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten.
Ecc 9:6 Also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished; neither have they any more a portion for ever in any thing that is done under the sun.
---Billy on 8/16/06

Just saying your a Christian that won't get anyone in heaven. Many are called and few are chosen. Many claim they are Christians but they are only fooling themselves, because nothing, and I mean nothing gets passed God.

Though Jesus is the center of my faith, I have to admit going to heaven is a wonderful prospect. Heaven is a big part of the Christian faith, because it is God abode. Christ spoke about heaven allot. It gives me hope. 1Cor. 15:19

I was saved by conviction of the Holy Spirit one night in 1952. I will never forget it, but at the time, I just wanted to be saved, but since you ask, I do want to go to heaven. Other benefits here on earth are peace, joy, love, longsuffering, patience, and fellowship with other christians.

Sue; What scripture promises "heaven" to Christians when they die?
---1st_cliff on 8/16/06

I cracked up at your question because of this reason alone: Who will admit that they are a Christian just so they'll go to heaven?
However, you raise a good point. Because "many are called but few are chosen." People will believe until the cows come home that they're a Christian, going to heaven until Judgement Day when they feel heat at their feet. NO ONE wants to admit what you're asking. I know that I know I'm going to heaven because I want to be with the Lover of my Soul.

There might be people who attend church because they think that it will help them to pave their way to Heaven but it won't. Either a person is a Christian or a person is not. God is not fooled by church attendance, fancy talk or anything else.
