ABSOLUTELY for Jesus said "For where 2 or 3 are gathered in my name, there am I also in their midst. You dont have to have a building for church. Remember, we are the church, not the building...the building is only a place of gathering away from the elements .. God bless you in your good work friend.

Noah not a good quote! he preached for 120 years and didnt win ONE SOUL !!! theda

I teach to the homeless. So therefore, I teach the Gospel of the Kingdom of God and how to get there in the park.

The challenge is So it was in the days of Christ so it is Today, illegal to preach on the streets Christ/disciples did it. So there is no excuse for not ministering just because the State disapproves of it. The bible says ''so it was the day of Noah so shall it be in the end...'' although not the original meaning but abpt for this situation.

Yes. In the summer months, my church gets together and has church on the river bank and had a cook-out. At times we've even had baptizing. Others that were fishing saw us and some left but some stayed and got saved and were baptized. I see nothing wrong with this myself. If God is in the service, you can expect him to move. Regardless where the service is held.

Is it God's world or not. It is. And any red-blooded Christian had better start standing up against these godless laws. When man's laws is contrary to God's laws we are to obey God instead of man. And don't be afraid to suffer if God calls you into it. Retreat, but only in prayer. Do not bow to the devil. When the devil saids you can't, tell him, "yes I can." and I have a blood bought right to be led by His Holy Spirit". By God's power, He will give you strength. His strength is awsome.

I think it would depend on where the church was these days. In some areas it seems to be illegal even to pray on a street corner never mind holding a whole service. Many have been saved through hearing services held outdoors, people who, at one time, would never have set foot inside a church.

We are the Church so the location isn't important.
---Kay on 10/16/06

It is perfectly ok. Jesus taught the Beautitudes sitting down outside in the open.

friend and I opted to have our own Sabbath service in nature. while kneeling for our prayer, trampers saw us and joined us kneeling without us knowing. then we sang "God and God Alone" when we finished, they all clapped and joined us. It gave us a lovely surprise and we shared lunch and shared our faith. They're all from Idaho and surprised to learn many things they didnt know of the bible. Excellent witnessing there.

It is okay for church services to be held anywhere that the children of God want to meet. It's not about a building.

I run a church and recently we lost our place of worship...we've been outside for three weeks now, but I have made a deal with the skills of my former trade to use the conference room of a hotel in exchange for upkeep and maintanance.

Where two or three are gathered in my name our Lord said.

Yes, I would think it would be wonderful! God made nature and the whole universe for us to enjoy, and this would be a good way to do it.

The answer that I received to this question thatI ask of my one-time pastor years ago helped start me down the road to Soulwinning. When I asked this question of my pastor he said, no we cannot hold church in a public park because some members in this congregation would have my head!!! I've always considered this pastor to be spiritually led.

When I go to the PA state parks for vacations in the woods there is always an outdoor service for the campers. Usually the local churches nearby sign up to run those services. It is a lot of fun and a blessing to hear hymns being sung acapella in the woods.

Rev.Herb: I love campmeetings and tent meetings. I go everytime I get a chance.

God does not dwell in buildings made from human hands.
---Ryan on 8/21/06

M.P. I think you are right. Biblically, it shouldn't make any difference. But in the city where I recently lived, a church service in the park would likely be controversial. I'm not certain, but think there are probably regulations regarding this. I now live in a "Bible Belt" state, where such a gathering would probably go unnoticed.

Yes it is okay. Our church has had at least two services on the river bank and plus we had a baptism. And we have had services at someones' house, the Pastor's house. We make church fun, as it should be because we are serving an Awesome God.
---Rebecca_D on 8/21/06

Where did you get the idea a building was necessary? Why would it NOT be OK?
---Jack on 8/21/06

It is Biblically ok to hold a church service just about anywhere. Jesus preached to the people outside. The Church is not a building, it is the body of born-again believers that is Jesus' Church.
---Helen_5378 on 8/21/06

Sure, why not? If we are the temple of the Holy Ghost, then we can hold service anywhere, amen? It is not a building made with hands and stone, we are the temples, so YES, church can be held anywhere outside, in a tent (which is cool), in someone's back yard, on the streets, on the highways and byways, GO SHOUT IT ON THE MOUNTAIN THAT JESUS CHRIST IS LORD!

I just got back from a tent revival in PA. it was outside. I sometimes do street preaching. I can't do that inside.
---Rev_Herb on 8/21/06

A building does not a church make. The Church is the children of God that are in attendance. There is nothing wrong with having it outside if it is Spirit led.
---Debbie on 8/21/06

How many sermons did Jesus preach indoors vs outdoors?
Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel. The world in not in the church.
---Bruce5656 on 8/21/06

Of course it is. The Church I am working with does it periodically in good weather. We hold a service in a park with a picnic after the service. I is a wonderful family time and we also get some of the people we meet in the park involved in the church as a result of such activities. It is a win, win activity on all accounts.
