The mind of Christ? Humility, in Ephesians 4 we are told to walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye were called. With all lowiness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love.(Eph. 4:1-2). That is the mind of Christ.

"what makes up the Mind of Christ?"

The mind that recognizes its place and position with the Father and remains under subjection to His Word. Characterized by humility, reliance, adherence, trust and dependance upon the Father, embracing a determination to do only the Fathers' will. A mind that reflects a thoughtfulness of others and a willingness to sacrifice, suffer and even die for the good of others. A mind that seeks to serve rather than be served.

The mind of Christ is to give complete attention/focus to the Spirit. This is also expanded on In Pauls letter to the Romans. For the mind set on the Spirit will manifest fruit but the mind set on the flesh will manifest the deeds of the flesh. We are to love the Lord God with all our heart, MIND & strength.

Bruce5656, You wrote this in regard to the Mind of Christ: "You can spiritualize this all day long but the fact is that Paul gave a very specific answer already..." --Bruce, So you don't believe that the Word should be read with "Spiritual" reasoning? Or just part of the Word should? Are you saying that we should read the Bible like a magazine? The Bible is Spiritual and must be read according in order for us to receive the Fullness of It. --Mrs. Morgan

You can spiritualize this all day long but the fact is that Paul gave a very specific answer already. Philippians 2:5-8, "Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:

And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross."
"The mind of Christ" Paul speaks of is service and humility.
This is the reason Paul said what he did in vv 1-4.

Mrs.Morgan.#2.It is to seek to give of ourselves, rather than seek that we receive! It is to seek to do good for others, than seek to be recipients of goodness! It is willing to serve others, rather than seeking others to serve us!.It is will to suffer for others, rather than causing suffering and pain on others!
"For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? but we have the mind of Christ". 1 Cor 2:16

Mrs.Morgan.What is the mind of Christ? It is to think as Christ would have thought clearly, positively and concretely. The mind of Christ is to forgive as Christ was willing to forgive, when on the Cross, he said "Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do."
The mind of Christ is to love our enemies as Christ loved His enemies! The mind of Christ is to do unto others, as we would want others to do unto us!

#4 "Let." Such an unselfish mind will possess us if we just "LET" it; for the Holy Spirit strives to give us such a mind. What if Jesus had not let the will of the Father prevail in Him? There would have been no salvation for mankind.

#3 Most people look out for No. 1. Paul looked out continually for No. 2. OTHERS was his chief concern. Some people imagine that ministering to others is just for a select few; but the Apostle says, "every man" should serve others. Paul gives us an example in our unselfish Lord. He says, Phil. 2:5 Let this self-forgetting mind, this self-sacrificing heart, this wholehearted looking out for others, which was in our Savior, be in you.

#2 Col.3:23,24 Some saints that are tempted by a desire for self-glory,do not act in the Spirit, and they pray or speak unwisely. We need to be full of knowledge and wisdom. If we seek only the will of God and yield to the Holy Spirit, we will say the right thing in the right manner and at the right time, and cease when we have done His will. What is meant by esteeming others better than ourselves? The very next verse gives the answer.

#1 We need to start with Phil. 2:3 It is possible for a believer to testify or pray out of strife. It is possible that a believer could attempt to serve God for vain glory. If believers do not judge the old man in themselves, so that the Christ-life only can act, they will do religious things from selfish motives. We should partake in the service of the Lord that sinners may be convicted, that saints may be edified, comforted and strengthened.
