Gift Of The Holy Spirit
There are manifestation gifts listed in 1 Corinthians 12:8-10 For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit, 9 to another faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit, 10 and to another the effecting of miracles, and to another prophecy, and to another the distinguishing of spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, and to another the interpretation of tongues.

Emcee - have you ever asked for the Baptism in the Holy Ghost. You know Catholics do this too. Anyone that is born again can ask for the Gifts of the Holy Spirit.
Just ask God to give you His Baptism (different then water) and ask for a prayer language. Your priest may have this too.Ask him.

You are probably referring to the following:
1 Corinthians 12:9-10 to another faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit, 10 and to another the effecting of miracles, and to another prophecy, and to another the distinguishing of spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, and to another the interpretation of tongues.

Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
This is the initial infilling of the Holy Ghost with the evidence of tongues.
1 Cor. 12:1 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant.
1Cor. 12:4 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.
These gifts were covered in an earlier question.

Betty is correct about Jesus being the Groom, but in Acts 2:38 it doesn't refer to the church. It was actually referring to the Jews. They were to be baptized in Jesus' Name for remission of sins. In 1Corinthians 1, Paul pointed out that baptism wasn't the required for salvation.

Jesus is the Groom the church is the Bride doesn't the Bride take on the Groom's name when they marry
Go to acts2-38 This is where we take on his name and where our sin's are taken away the word remitted means take away .So when we are baptise in his name that's when we take on his name and his blood is applied

In Isaiah 11:2-3 and Revelation 1:4; 3:1; 4:5; & 5:6 it talks about the seven Spirits of God or the 7-fold nature of God.

greetings, did not the holy spirit cocreate the 'man'.did not man plead to God, "and take not thy holy spirit from me"and"thou sendest fourth thy spirit, they are created"and "where is he that put his holy spirit within him"?it is evident that the holy spirit was already active but the 'gift',the the 'spirit of truth' was not until the apostles experienced it for the first time
