How To Witness Properly

How can I explain that God is real to someone who is skeptical about God's existence and/or goodness? This is an email relationship, so I can not actually spend time with the person.

Witness to someone who is skeptical about God - use the wind - you cannot see the wind, but you know it's there by the leaves that blow.

Jane, just to encourage you, I made a deal with God BEFORE I was ever saved. God answered me and kept His end of the deal, and actually made me keep mine. That's how God was drawing me to Him. So I encourage everyone to talk to God because you never know how or when He's going to answer.

Jane, I was going to say "let your light shine amoung men," but since you don't see this person, pray for them. Let the Holy Spirit do the work as you do the praying. Also, tell this person, "Taste and see" that the Lord is good. Encourage them to talk to God and see if He answers. God wishes that NONE should perish, so if someone talks to Him who isn't saved, like I did when I wasn't yet saved, God may just show Himself, we never know what God wants to do in a person's life, right?

Some good answers...one thing comes to mind...it's not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit saith the Lord

Pray and ask the Lord for opportunities to share what the Lord has done in your life, and how you have experienced Him. Pray for this person's heart to be softened to the Truth of God when you share Him.

pt.1: Supernatural miracles, especially unexplainable medical miracles of healing are physical and tangible proof that God is real, and they are a loud testimony and witness to believers and nonbelievers that God is real. Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. "Ask and it will be given you; seek and you all will find; knock and it will be opened to you: For everyone who asks, receives; and he that seeks, finds; and to him that knocks, it will be opened." Matthew 7:7,8.

pt.2: Jesus is God.."else believe me for the very miracles' sake. To know that God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself...for he that comes to God must believe that he is, and he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. To seek of God, if happens they might feel after him and find him, although indeed being not far from each one of us. And you all will seek me, and find, when you all will search for me with all your heart." Jn.14:11; II Cor.5:19; Hb.11:6; Acts 17:27; Jer.29:13.

I agree with the advice given.

I fasted & prayed for a person to accept Christ before and it helped.

It's our job to shine, be fruitful and encourage, but the Holy Spirit does the beckoning. Do your job and let Him do His. Also, if a person refuses to believe, you may just have to move on to someone who is more receptive (there's more work to do elsewhere). People have a will and if it's to not accept, there's nothing we can do and there's nothing God will do...He gave them a choice.

Use the story of Jesus meeting the Samaritan women at the well as an example. Todays people are cold-hearted and selfish. The only thing that piques their interest is about themselves. After meeting a person for the first time and concluded with the small talk, you begin talking about them. People like talking about themselves. Then you, having a strong foundation in the Bible from beginning to end, wait for the Holy Spirit to guide the conversation.

You or I won't do this, I have facts that can fill up pages why the Christian faith is the only way that I can recite from memory.

The one thing we must not fail to do is tell them what Jesus did in our life, and to love them as God does.

These two things are paramount, God will do the rest, trust and pray. When we need God the most he shows up. (David and Golliath?)

Don't try so hard. God will work it out if she is to be in the body. Be a loving and fruitful friend.

I have found the best way to witness is just say "Let me tell you what God did for me." and that will usually open doors.
