Is America A Blessed Country

Is America truly blessed by God? When answering this question keep in mind 50% divorce rate, war, homelessness, hunger, murdering, gangs, obesity, mass complacency, drugs, spousal abuse, adultry & every other deed of the flesh that is rampant in the U.S.A.

Do the personal sins of individuals vitiate or cancel the blessings God has given in the past, especially since we are told that the "gifts and calling of God are without repentance?"
---Jack on 2/21/08

Ryan,

Having visited several other countries of which I can compare, I would have to say yes. Most of the things that you mentioned are worldwide issues, not primarily American issues. In this country, however, we enjoy freedom and opportunities other countries can only dream of. I'll be the first to agree with you that America is far from perfect (and I do mean FAR!) and perhaps even somewhat negligent with our blessings, but I do believe we've truly been blessed anyway.

many countries that have had many more years of existance than america thought they were blessed also. The roman empire for nearly a thousand years, the greeks, phillistines, egyptians for thousands of years.all thought they were blessed and unconquerable, but none truly kept GODS WORD watch out ,america is just another one headed for a fall spiritually, and actually in my opinion out of Gods blessing.why? the reasons are numerous.

MikeM, it is possible you did not read my response correctly. I said If I were drafted i would continue to rely on GOd for direction. I Obviously would be a part of whatever branc I was drafted into for God's purpose and I would continue to live a fruitful life and be a living testimony to other soldiers. I'm not sure how that is dodging the question.
---Ryan on 9/9/06

Ryan, you dodged trhe question about being drafted, but not to answer, is to answer.
Dottie; When ever was America a Christian? Its founders were diest and freemasons.
---MikeM on 9/8/06

No nation is blessed of God, studing the scriptures will tell you that. God does and have always blessed the believer. The believer that believes and trusts God is blessed of and by God! Not all Israel were blessed, only the ones who trusted God.

Ryan, You forgot one of the most heinous crimes the USA is guilty of. Abortions! My heart aches for the USA, because we were once part of a Nation that was founded on Christian Values. In the 1960's was the beginning of our demise. I believe that we live in the most wonderful country, but we have taken a nose dive straight for Hell. I pray that all of the people who say they are Christians start acting like one before it is too late. We need to ALL pray for a nationwide Revival.

MikeM, I have enormous ammounts of admiration for the Amish. If I were drafted I would hold fast to my faith and pray that the Spirit lead me. I would continue to rely 100% on God for direction. Not much would change. Look to the example of David, no matter what the circumstances He was always the same David and always a man of strong faith.

Raine, The things that you mention have not taken place in hummanities timeline, correct. However God is not confined by His own creation, time. Since He has said it I deem it to be true and Have faith that He will make good on His promises. Jesus had not yet come to the earth but Abraham still believed what God promised about the Messiah and it was Abrahams faith in these promises that deemded him righteous. Faith is a belief in things unseen, like the New Jarusalem, of which all the elect are citizens.
---Ryan on 9/6/06

Ryan, If in person you said that I would think you Amish or Mennonite, but being you have a computer you are clearly not. If there is a draft (assuming you are young) and you are drafted, what will you do, being, as you stated you are, a stranger in a strange land?
---MikeM on 9/6/06

The New Jerusalem has not descended yet. Rev. 21:2 We haven't had the marriage supper of the Lamb, the Second coming of Christ, satan hasn't been bound for 1000 years, saints haven't reigned for 1000 years and we haven't had the great white throne of judgment. Nor have the new heaven and earth been created.
---Raine on 9/6/06

I am a citizen of the New Jarusalem, through being a part of the body that is the bride of Christ. I do not love this world nor the things of this world like America or any other secular nation. Jesus has placed me here as a stranger in a foreign land to be a testimony to His message and reflect His glory.

The United States is the most blessed nation in world history todate.
---mima on 9/6/06

"Blessed is the nation whose God YHWH...If my people, which are called by my name, will humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." Psalm 33:12; II Chronicles 7:14.

Madison, I wholeheartily agree with you. God blessed us so much and we didn't appreciate it. Judgement day is coming very soon.

Alwayson--I couldn't agree more. I have been on every continent but Antartica, and America is far from the worst. Immorality in many countries ( could enumerate but not in 58 words) is shockingly worse than the U.S. Few places is homelessness as UN-common as here. Drugs are worse in many countries. Divorce rates are lower where people don't bother to marry. Spousal abuse in the Middle east is unparalleled. Wars have continued for GENERATIONS in Africa.
We may be undeserving, but we are blessed.
---Donna2277 on 9/5/06

Everything you list are sins of man, not punishments of God.

We are truly blessed. We are one of the richest countries in the world. We have the freedom to worship God as we choose, without state interference in how, where, or what we worship. We are free to speak out against the evil in our society, and government. These are all blessings.
