That means to stop in your tracks and be SURE that what you are doing is what God would have you to do.
Seek to be a citizen of Heaven, live as if you are there now, and that means again before anything gets done or decided you stop and make sure that the Kingdom of God is being shown through your words and actions.

Jesus said the Kingdom of God is w/in us and if saved who lives w/in us? He does. So seek Him first. It is a love affair he wants us to seek Him, admire Him,cherish Him, steal away only W/Him, talk to Him etc. He then will reward us just like in a love affair w/many things that we seek but only those things that will help/benefit us never hurt us.

What did John the baptizer, Christ and the disciples mean by the kingdom? What did they intend the people of Israel to understand by that term? Exactly what the Hebrew Scriptures said. John said it was at hand(Matthew 3:2. Repent! for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.) In the context, the kingdom is spoken of in relation to wrath(7. But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his baptism, he said unto them, You offspring of serpents! Who warned you to flee from the wrath to come?)

Note also Matthew 5:3. Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 5. Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. Verse 5 is taken from Psalm 37. Note how many times in Psalm 37 the land is spoken of. For the people of Israel, to seek the kingdom meant to repent and return to the law.

Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Matt 6:33 I believe God wants to be #1 in our hearts above all other humans, belongings, concerns. To put His Word first above all other written words. He wants us to know Jesus personally, not just knowledge about Him. When God is first, He will bring addition into our lives. Our needs will be met, He'll bring us Godly friends, save our family members, give us His peace in the storms.

Sue;One of the bible mysteries that you have to solve: Jesus never came out with a clear explanation of "the Kingdom" only that "it is like unto..." So the onus is on us not only to know what IT is but how to pursue IT! From my bible study I found there are few "absolutes" Because I don't march with the crowd I'm often ostracized!

The kingdom of God is the Fathers rule and reign within me, which if not hindered by my will, will produce in me and bring forth from me, righteousness peace and joy as I abide in His Spirt. His kingdom prompts and influences me to look within myself to inwardly discern my thoughts and motives, which ultimately guides my actions, rather than allowing my sensual perceptions of the external to dictate my responses. My first desire for life is His dominion within.

Put God first, seek HIM. I like this scripture: "For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit, 18because anyone who serves Christ in this way is pleasing to God and approved by men." Romans 14: 17-18

The statement brings to me so much memories. This is the very statement that my brother told me when he realized that I am going to high school in 1967. During those times he believed that if I am going to obtain education, then I would eventually lost my own soul.
