Gen. 3:15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

Yes, satan brused Jesus' heal when Jesus was put through the beatings and was crucified on the cross. but in doing this Jesus crushed the serpants head (satan) by dying for everyones sins. before jesus took over this world. lucifer was the prince of this world by decieving adam and eve. (read about when jesus was tempted in the wilderness by satan)then jesus took it back to seal lucifers fate in the lake of fire.

Emcee. The "seed" of the serpert is Satan and his followers. These are those who are "false teachers", "false prophets" (etc).

"draw conclusions from context would you have done that before the coming of Christ.?"

Will you draw a conclusion that Mary is the women spoken of in Gen 3:15 without the NT or the coming of Christ? Works the same way!.

Ramon :You impinge on the word "strike" in Genesis3;15,& draw conclusions from context would you have done that before the coming of Christ.?Its like a transalation from hind sight. But what is the subject matter."Enmity between your offspring & Hers".Question who is the serpents Off spring? Is it in existence today? Is the prophecy being enacted? What must we do to correct it?

#2.Thus the crucifixition was alluded in Gen 3:15.The seed of the serpent hates the seed(Jesus Christ) of the woman(Mary).
Even though he will be "struck" through his crucifixon , he would rise from the dead to completely destroy("strike") Satan, sin and death for the sake of salvation of the human race (cf Is 53:5; Mat 1:20-23; John 12:31; Acts 26:18; Rom 5:18-19; 16:20; 1 John 3:8; Rev 20:10). God promise a salvation plan for the world here.

Carla_5754.Please Check Gen 3:15.What does it mean when it states "you will strike his Heel" The word "heel" means the hind part of the foot, particulary of man; but it is applied also to the corresponding part of the feet of quadrupeds. It can mean the whole foot.

The Lord's heel was "struke" when he was nailed to a cross, but Jesus crushed Satan's head when He rose from the dead.

This reference is found in Gen. 3:15. This is the first phrophcy concerning Christ's primary function as Savoir. These verses in Gen. are stating that while Christ will defeat Satan, He will do so at the price of being hurt in the process. Of course, we know this happen. Christ defeated Satan on the cross, but Christ had to die first as a sacrifice for us.

"Satan's head" is a reference to his headship or his authority in the earth. (2 Corinthians 4:4 calls Satan the god of this world.)

Satan bruising Jesus' heal refers to Satan's position beneath Jesus, under His authority. As members of the Body of Christ, we have this same authority available to us.

[Cont.] That place in man that is so easliy shaken & bound by this chain, is snapped by the empowerment of the Holy Spirit given us through the atoning sacrifice of Jesus, The sower of His seed. However the seed of Satan controlled & dictated by their carnality will always be seeking to circumvent the working of the Holy Spirit & will lie in wait to trip or restrain His progress. This is the concept of Gen.3:15. Related verses. Ro. 8:7,8 Eph.2:15,16 Jas, 4:4,5 We are to embrace the mind of Christ.
---Josef on 9/17/06

The Father placed a marked hostility that distinguishes Satan's "world" system (represented by the serpent) from The called of God (represented by the woman). That distinguishing mark of hatred separates those completely bound mentally by the carnality of their thinking (his seed), from those united in Christ whose thoughts are opened to the divine insight and inspiration of the Father (her seed). The called will snap the chains of carnality that are indicative of Satan's headship. [Cont.]

Carla::This was a Promise Made by God to satan for his interference with His Plan & His creation,at the inception of creation.
---Emcee on 9/15/06

Carla the Scripture is Genesis 3:15. Jesus defeated Satan on the Cross for us and this is the first prophecy of the Cross and the victory that Jesus won there over the devil.
