(I.)Amen Eloy! If the Son frees you, you are free indeed! Some are claiming freedom, but they don't let Jesus "free them", remove those spots or wrinkles in their life that defiles their WHOLE GARMENT(Jude 1:23)(Eph. 5:27)(Rev. 3:4). Jesus didn't suffer the way He did to free us from "just a little of sin", or "some sin", or "some bondage", He came to free folk from ALL sin, ALL bondage(Matthew 5:48).

(II.)One can tell if a person is in darkness or not, just by their REASONING(Isaiah 1:18). God's reedemed, talk just like Jesus talked, no darkness was in His talk, no confusion, no DEFEAT. Jesus never compromised God's Truth, never, but MANY Christian's are doing just that. People either walk in darkness or they don't(Matt 6:23,24). Getting rid of some darkness , aint gonna cut it, one must be rid of ALL DARKNESS. People limit God in their lives, by saying a born-again child of God can't walk ......

(III.)...in holiness and righteousness(without sin-guile),some even say they are STILL sinner's,well most are(their lukewarm),Are they lukewarm because God don't furnish enough power through the Blood of Jesus to CHANGE them?Or because they resist His Spirit, resist the Blood? It's the LATTER.Why do they think Jesus came?Do they figure He came to just bring them out of "some darkness",just certain sin's OR, Did He come to bring them out of ALL DARKNESS,ALL SIN?The LATTER is why He came, God Bless!

Yes,i smoked for over 20 years and prayed and asked the Lord to help me quit. That was 15 years ago and i havent smoked since,i did not use any man made help, i had the Lord and He was all i needed.
He gave me the strength to put the cigarettes down and to Him be the Glory!! PRAISE THE LORD.

Jeanne - Hi. I just love your answer. We will be set free from many things. It reminds me of the onion analogy with all the layers coming off one by one. Bless you.

Yes Christ has and does set us free. He set me free from religous pride as I am born a "Jew" and was taught all others are unclean. I also was set free from Kabalah (many spellings) a mystic Jewish teaching and witchcraft from brought here from the "old country". I am a Christian now and am ever changing, evolving into what Christ wants so I probably will be "set" free of many things before He calls me home.

Kate - That is exactly right. The whole of man's problem is sin. Addictions are sin! Most don't believe that, but everything that a sinner does is sin. Sin entered when Adam fell, and there were no addictions before that.

Helen-Yes, Jesus can and does deliver people. He says to ask in his name, and it will be given to you (within reason, I don't think he was referring to a money tree in your back yard...or a ride in Santa's sleigh). God wants his children to walk in the freedom of Christ. Free from bondage to sin. We are no longer slaves to sin if we are in Christ, amen?
---Kate on 9/25/06

Kate - Hi. No, I am referring to Jesus Christ setting a person completely free and there is just that person and Jesus, and no human being to help in any way, shape or form. It is a spiritual, supernatural deliverance from bondage of any type.
---Helen_5378 on 9/23/06

Are you referring to the teaching that in order to be delivered from something you need people to lay hands on you? If so, this is not entirely true. God does deliver us in that way, but he also delivers people w/o the use of people. I don't have scripture to back that up, however I do have personal experience to back up my claim. I have been set free from physical bondage, such as smoking, and less tangible things such as depression as well. Although he chooses to use man, he doesn't HAVE to.

as human beings it is not by any strength of our own that we have been freed, it is thru jesus.those that the son sets free are free indeed.the list is so numerous of things that hold us in bondage that it staggers the mind.Thank God for jesus.

helen, yes in several areas of my life. But the one area which affected me most was in the area o having a critical spirit.I praise God that I for the most part now see how weak we all are, and how defensive the flesh can be.

Hellen. God has made us able ministers of His Spirit. He has chosen us to do these kind of things here. I have been set free of several bondages and every time there were people involved. I'm not saying that's the only way or that the people had the power. Just thankful that He uses people. He must be using you also. I see you are a helpful blogger so you are about your fathers' business. I wouldn't doubt that there are people who have been set free because of your ministring the Lord to them.

Yes! But I do not know just what it was. I read through the book "Updated and Expanded Bondage Breaker" I read, prayed, confessed, renounced, read, prayed, asked God to break any hold or ground gainded in my life because of sin. After, when I looked in the mirria I looked different! It may have been bitterness or unforgiveness. But, I know He did something for me! Thank you LORD!

Helen, even if God uses human beings to set a person free, it's no longer I that liveth, but Christ that liveth in me that's doing the work. Amen? It's still the power of the Holy Spirit doing the work whether or not a human is used or not. And to answer your question, yes, I have been supernaturally been set free from all sorts of bondages.

Yes He has. I was in bondage to a certain lifestyle, and God called me to leave it all and follow Him. I was blessed, because I was obedient to His word for me, and my life is a complete opposite and my bondage has been broken. Praise God, that He loves and is merciful. No matter what happens in my life now, no matter how bad, I have peace that only comes from Him. Peace is knowing that God is in control, and the Faith to believe it with NO reservations,

Since that day, sisters, parents have renounced mormonism.Parents rode fence, but wrote official letter to SLC last winter, asking removal from rolls. Mother has enormous family, I'm not a hit at family reunions. They cry, shout in my face "You're hurting my religion." They lock doors, banned from private meetings when temple work discussed. Baptisms for dead, sealing ceremonies, temple garments, etc. I already know what goes on. God has tuned up false meter for me. I give God all the Glory.

The day I renounced mormonism in bible book store, two decades ago. Found books describing new age, mormonism and cult religions. Sat on floor 8 hours with owner approval. Went home with new Bible. Ripped pages from false books, threw away. Went back to Bible store, said sinners prayer. Visited church with bookstore owner, remain prayer partners today. My family was furious, many relatives shunned me. One aunt punched me in chest and told me never return. She's entrenched in mormonism, highly offended.
