Yesterday I told a young man, whose a clerk in a grocery store, exactly how he could be saved, and ask him, do you want to be saved? He said yes, and followed me in a prayer unto salvation. You can do no kinder deed than this for any other fellow human being!!

Who is the craizes in this world? Well, I'll tell you it is not God's people. And no better witness can you be than to suffer for the Lord Jesus Christ.+++

What do you want us to do, BRAG. Only about the cross and Jesus Christ. I am not going to get in trouble with GOD.

Took birthday gifts to a sister who is mentally ill. Other family members and her own children did not remember her birthday.

Okebaram - I agree with Donna and anonymous' first post. I was thinking of the same scripture they were and think this blog topic is somewhat of a snare. Okebaram - you are in error because the scripture gives no conditions for boasting good deeds personally, whereas you gave conditions for your view. Personally, I much rather prefer somebody else to recognize my good deeds. After all, if nobody else notices them then they probably aren't significant enough to be worth mentioning myself.

I gave my mom a back rub. She's 88 yrs. old and it's one of the last thing she really loves, for a kind human touch.

I sent an appraisal email to the Bus company for a driver who was struggling.

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven Mt 5:16

No, AlwaysOn didn't mean any harm. I posted a message to that effect days ago which included a more detailed response, but it wasn't posted for whatever reason.
---AlwaysOn on 10/13/06

Okebarem-- I'm sure alwayson meant no harm. Neither did I. I was not criticizing...only cautioning. We just need to examine our own motives to make sure that GOD gets the glory not man. ( At least, I need to check myself on this at times...I assume others may need to too)

Thanks Okebaram...I give GOD all the PRAISE and GLORY for allowing me to make a kids day alittle brighter.
---JIM on 10/13/06

Okay, Alan, my apologies, maybe our different perspectives make this blog a bad idea. I don't think AlwaysOn meant any harm in it though.
---Okebaram on 10/12/06

Donna2277 ... Well ... you now have authority to ignore the Bible, and trumpet your kindnesses before us all.
---alan8869_of_UK on 10/11/06

Donna, you were critisizing the blog. Your commentary was implied. However, I used the word 'reflect' rather than 'show' or 'display' because I know you aren't always "religious" just misappropriated Jesus' statement in this situation.
---Okebaram on 10/10/06

Okebarem -- how could I have reflected "idle religion"? I quoted scripture. I MADE NO COMMENT ...just scripture. It is up to the reader to apply it to themselves or not. I don't know any man's heart.
---Donna2277 on 10/9/06

When you are asking people to post a good act, you are encouraging boasting. What I do is only between God and me.

All the world is a stage; and it's a good thing that God operates the trap door. I would rather read a scripture than religious babble.
---Shiela on 10/9/06

No, JIM, you shouldn't be thanking Donna for that. There is a difference between announcing your acts of kindness before outsiders in order to receive praise and sharing acts of love among close Christians in order to give glory to God for how He used you and encourage them in the Lord. Donna & Anonymous, your statements here reflect idle religion.
---Okebaram on 10/9/06

Thank You Donna for pointing that out.I totally forgot that passage.
---JIM on 9/26/06

Matt.6:1-4(NIV) Be careful not to do your acts of righteousness before men to be seen of them.... when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the street to be honored of men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be done in secret. Then your Father who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

I helped my son pick up branches and wood from a tree he cut down. and stacked the wood at the curb. I could have been doing something else. It felt good.
---Linda3939 on 9/25/06

Matthew 6:2 Therefore, when you do a charitable deed, do not sound a trumpet before you as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets that they may have glory from men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. But when you do a charitable deed,do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing...your Father sees in secret will Himself reward you openly.

Well now, if I told you my motive would no longer be pure. :op

Every week I get the grocery coupons from my Sunday paper and cut them out and sort them into five piles. One for each of my three kids, my mother and myself. I then put the coupons in an envelope and mail them to each of them. It is like sending them money. I know that they are all on tight budgets, as am I.
---Madison1101 on 9/22/06

I sent someone a hundred dollars just to bless them.
