Are People Living The Walk

Am I wrong or does it seem very few people that call themselves Christian seem to be living a life of victory thru Jesus?

Moderator - I believe you are correct as most people today are lukewarm Christians.

Donna ... How do you know that god does not have a plan for them to meet a man? And what says they might not meet him through makiing the feeort themselves?
The first lady I met, three years ago through a Christian "dating" (for want of a better word) site, and we remained just friends, has now met and married a wonderful man through that same site.
Sometimes God expects us to do something for ourselves our own lives, not leave all the work to Him

Yes, for many who "call" themselves Christian are indeed not Christian at all.

happiness is a state of mind, peace comes from above, and from a personal relationship with jesus, so does victory. To try and find happiness from a mate, or anything of this world is a vain attempt and actually will profit you not.

jack, brother, thats my point. I,ve been a believer for some 30 odd years, but only in the last few have I really begun to see the truth.know the victory, understand that submission and obidience to God thru jesus is the only way to live a life in victory. It is his victory, we are partakers,we receive the free gift of salvation ,but brother thers so much more he offers ,but few perceive it. they walk in the flesh ignoring the wonderul gift of his victory for every area of their lives.

**I have six single Christian friends in their 50's who have been saved 27 years and are STILL hunting for a husband. They refuse to believe God has a higher purpose for them. So they continue to hunt for a man.**

Your words bring up another issue:

How many blogs here are posted by Christians in the middle of marital shipwreck? It should be clear just from these postings that marriage does not guarantee happiness.

This brings up a further question:
Exactly what DOES "victory" (a favorite PE buzz word) mean in this context?

The narrow road consists of denying our flesh, buffeting it and making it our slave. Taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. Resisting the devil. Worshipping Father on a daily basis. Turning the other cheek and forgiving those who have hurt us. Getting rid of our spiritual pride and stop acting like we know everything about God there is to know, etc., And stop condemning tongues..had to throw that one in there.

fhoma6579 - You are correct. The way is narrow that leads to life, few are those who find it. Many Christians are doing their will, and not the Father's will and calling it "Following Christ." We are to lay down our will for his will at all cost. Who do you know is doing that? I have six single Christian friends in their 50's who have been saved 27 years and are STILL hunting for a husband. They refuse to believe God has a higher purpose for them. So they continue to hunt for a man.

fhoma6579 - You are correct. Many choose the broad road, not the narrow road. The narrow road requires us to lay down our will for His will, forgive our enemies no matter what they did to us, turn the other cheek, let no root of bitterness spring up inside of us, and get rid of our spiritual pride thinking we know everything when we don't. Most Christians think they're doing God's will, but in reality they're doing what THEY WANT to be doing. It's sad, but true.

It takes the body of Christ and mature believers to encourage others with love and help them to understand who they are in Christ. If you are mature and have the victory, why not help others find it too?
