Without the Holy Spirit nobody can do any good, and be anything but unholy. If you see someone with true holiness and they are always doing good, then the Holy Spirit is enabling them to do those things and be that holy. So if I am holy, it is not me but the Holy Spirit. Human conscience is the seat of the Holy Spirit for those who are not Christians.

God Commands, Be holy, therefore it is not umpossible to be holy. Holiness is not manufactured, but shared: God gives his holy Spirit to us, and we in turn share his holiness with others.

To Whosoever has an ear to hear?

I endeavor to be holy as the Lord is Holy. Although I do not expect to falter, I know from time to time I will fall-short of His Holiness and need correction....and it's through this chastising of the Lord that reveals to me, my true heart & whether or not I was walking-in the holiness of the Lord or just my own pride.

I notice His Holiness being revealed in me when I'm meek/weak/humble. I gain a greater peace of mind & a deeper/expanded understanding of the Word of God.

Pride is revealed as the opposite. A lack of peace and understanding. But upon repentance & returning to meekness/weakness/humbleness, I find myself on my spiritual journey once again in His Holiness.

"There is no such thing as having your own holiness.

Did somebody forgot to tell Paul? Hebrews 12:14: "Follow peace with
all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:"

Or Peter? 1 Peter 1:15: "But as he which hath called you is holy, so
be ye holy in all manner of conversation, 16: Because it is written,
Be ye holy, for I am holy."

Or God!
Leviticus 20:7: "Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be ye holy: for I
am the LORD your God."

There is no such thing as having your own holiness.

Isaiah 64:6, "But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away."

Oh wretched man that I am. There is nothing holy about me. Christ dwells in my heart but I am far from holy. This old body and mind are sinful nothing holy about them.I will never be holy till my body is redeamed at the rapture.

My sins are written in red somewhere. Thank our God that we are washed in the blood of the Lamb. Red blood wipes out red ink. It is Jesus that is Holy. I am the unworthy recipient of His Holy gift of eternal life. We were pardoned of our sins but we must accept that pardon for it to be valid. Too many people die pardoned that refused to accept it. None of us can ever be "good" enough to enter heaven on those acts of goodness. Grace by God through Jesus.

Mima - ("I tell people don't watch me follow Jesus"). I agree with you 100% on that one. I know that I know that if people start looking at me they will never get saved.

I certainly do not manufacture my own holiness, no way. If I even tried to do that I would not make it. I try hard, but I have to rely on Christ's holiness, not anything of my own.
---Helen_5378 on 9/28/06

At my best I am unworthy. I could never think of being able to make myself into something that only comes through oneness with Christ. It's the BLOOD that makes the difference in my life.

Aslo, Im unsure about this, but I hope you aren't trying to advocate that one is "holy" ONLY because he is saved without producing effort or any works (or fruits) of holiness. To be holy, one must surrender his will, lusts, diobedience to the Lord and take up His will instead. Your spirit then wills to be holy & the Holy Spirit gives you full apprehension of God's holinesss and your fleshy error so that YOU can have dominion over your flesh to an extent that would have otherwise overwhelmed you.

It is the rigtheousness of Christ in me that has even allowed me to be the little, ragged holy I've been. I did try to be holy without success before I received the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Then when I received the Holy Ghost, I was transformed inside out, so how can I say I am holy by my own standards. Only by the Holy Ghost can any man or woman be holy.

If there are too many "I's" in the equation, I do this, I do that, I, I, I, it's a flag. Let Holy Spirit rein you back in before you slip into pride. Pride comes before the fall. Lucifer said, in Isa 14:13 "I will ascend, I will exalt my throne, I will also sit on mount of the congregation, I will be like the Most High'.."

Jesus is Holy. All born-again Christians became holy in the eyes of the Father when they accepted the Lord Jesus Christ the son of God the Father. I am a born-again washed in the blood Christian. Therefore I am holy, but to see my outward person and ridiculous behavior you would never know it to be True. It is for this reason that I do not believe in lifestyle evangelism. I tell people don't watch me follow Jesus.

Define Holiness in your mind. Is it the absence of deliberate sin? Is it walking around with your head bowed and praying all the time? Is it being sinless? Please define holiness in your mind.
