You will only see them in Heaven, if they accepted Jesus Christ into their hearts as Lord & Savior. Otherwise, they are in Hell.

You will see Christ God Jesus, the holy angels, and the saved.

Jerry asked, "Will someone please give me some verses that tells us we will be known in heaven as we are known on earth?"

Sure. You may have been thinking of 1 Cor 13:12

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

Dorin, the Bible says we will get there together. I assume you mean all those who are faithful.
---Geoff on 12/24/06

Dorin, the Bible says the faithful will get there together. I forgot to add the scriptural reference-1 Cor 4:16-18
---Geoff on 12/24/06

Dorin, OOPS, the scriptural reference is 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 (not Corintians).

Will someone please give me some verses that tells us we will be known in heaven as we are known on earth?

Psalms 146, His(man,s) breath goes forth, he returns to this eart;in that very day his thoughts perish.A human being is dead, he no longer thinks, he simply is not conscious.
---winna on 11/12/06

JESUS CHRIST, emphatically and clearly stated, "And no man has ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the son of man(Christ)"John 3:13. King David, discribe as a man after God,s own heart, he is both dead and buried, Acts 2:29,34. spirit goes back to God.
---winna on 11/12/06

Remember, when God made adam, what he did and adam became a living soul? check the book of Genesis. That goes back to God. untill Christ returns again.

If saved Yes! It is a "city" hustle bustle. Do U know why some sects of the Jews move back & forth in prayer? It was to show visually that our God is in constant motion, always doing something so from far away U could even tell a "Jew" and knew His God was a God of action. We also will be doing things in Heaven not just floating on a cloud. I mentioned that to show U we will be on the move and busy. We will know many people and meet new ones too, just like in a "city".

When we die the Bible say's our spirte goes back to God from which it come
---Betty on 11/9/06

Lee_1, you said "After the death of Christ the spirit not the physical body goes to be with the Lord. When Christ comes again, the saints that are with Him will come with Him. I believe that is explained very clearly in Scripture."

Can you give that clear support?
---Geoff on 10/8/06

Hi Lee. For at least 50yrs there has been an
agreement that if anyone can show from scripture that we go to heaven when we die then they got $1m. nobody has or can show it. Those who return with Yahushua are the elect who are ressurected (spirit from the dead and living), when he returns.Mat 24:31 Have a look at Heb13:8, together with Mal 3:6 We can agree to dissagree.
---Toby on 10/8/06

Yes Dorin, we will see our friends & relatives we miss now, but contrary to popular speculation & misunderstanding, the Bible tells us we will arrive together when Jesus returns. See Heb 9:27, Mt 13:38-40, 1 Thes 4:13-18.
---Geoff on 10/8/06

Toby, I believe that Bruces comments are correct. After the death of Christ the spirit not the physical body goes to be with the Lord. When Christ comes again, the saints that are with Him will come with Him. I believe that is explained very clearly in Scripture.

Bruce5656 Hi. Sorry you see it as a mistake. Just taking what you say it appears that the plans have changed, for from what you say only those after his death go to heaven. Do you think that is fair? How does that fit with Mal3:7 and it is the same person o/tThe Word, n/tYahushua. In regard to 2Cor5:8 if you think about it we both fit that picture and like Paul have to wait for his return, for he is coming back.Zec14:4. (and it hasnt happened yet).

PART ONE:
Toby,
Your's is a common mistake. There is a distinct difference in God's dealing with men before and after the sacrifice of Jesus. John 3:13 was true when Jesus said it - pre New Covenant,- but that changed after his death and resurrection.

Paul says that 2 Corinthians 5:8, "We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord."
---Bruce5656 on 10/6/06

PART TWO:

Stephen, when being martyred, could see Jesus waiting for him, ready to welcome him home. Acts 6:54-60

We are told that Jesus "Led captivity captive" Eph 4:8-10 In other words, He, himself being a "captive" of the grave, led the "captives" there - those who were in Paradise, to heaven when he left.
---Bruce5656 on 10/6/06

Toby...you're right. No man has gone to Heaven, but when we die our Spirit will be in Heaven...if your a Beleiver.
---JIM on 10/6/06

John 3:13 says NO MAN only the SON has gone back to heaven after death. So then nobody at this stage goes to heaven.Isnt our Master coming back to earth to stand on the Mt of Olives? Isnt he building "in heaven" a home for us, that he will bring to earth because where he is (Mt of Olives / earth) we shall be also? John14:3 Zec 14:4 Ps37:11 Matt 5:5 The good new is we will see all our friends and family right from when he returns if we follow him and do what is right Heb13:21.

If they got saved before they died, then yes they are in heaven and I will see them when I get there. I will be shocked if any of them are there though, because there is not one person I have known who has died that I knew was saved.
---Helen_5378 on 10/4/06

Those who died with sins will not be in heaven, and those who died without sin will be in heaven.
---Eloy on 10/3/06

Yes we will see them. And sitting on the shores of heaven, talking with no worries, sorrow. Nothing but peace. The bible says we will be known as we're known. Meaning our spirit will see their spirit, and reconize them.

If they died in the Lord, Yes! God Bless.

In the OT. we read many times when a person died they were "gathered unto their people" It doesn't mean a burrial in a family cemtary. Do a study on that. In the NT. we see the rich man and Lazarus who recognized eachother and Moses and Elijah on the Mount with Jesus all recognizing eachother. Although our physical being dies and decays our life itself continues. To be absent from the body it to be present with the Lord.
---john on 10/3/06

Yes, if they died saved we will see them, talk with them and enjoy them. However if they died lost(having never accepted the Lord Jesus Christ) we will not see them. I do not know whether we will understand the situation perfectly or whether they will be erased from our memory.
---mima on 10/3/06

greetings,we will see all of whom have overcome the beast.we will see all of whom who have not had their name blotted out of the book of life .we will see all of whom have endured to the end for jesus'sake.we will see all of whom who believes God is all soverign.we will see all of whom who forgave to be forgiven.we will see all of whom who loved the Father with all their might and did 'his' will for the kingdom of God.
