Elder, (I.)(I Corinth. 5:5) Deals with an issue in the Church of one being involved with his stepmother, which is "very low down". Paul says that the church's complacency is liken to "accepting that behavior", and that wrong action, doesn't help the persons soul, the only thing that would help him is to "not compromise the oracles of the Gospel" but take a stand, ...

Dear Brother Matt, EXACTLY! God Bless!

Mrs. Morgan-"But if the Church, permits him to remain with them in his "sinful rebellious state", not only will he contaminate the Church, but he will die lost."

As Paul said in that Chapter "a litte leaven, leaveneth the whole lump."
---Matthew on 5/24/07

Elder, (II.) ....cast him out of the church, maybe then he will acknowledge his error, honestly repent, and be saved. But if the Church, permits him to remain with them in his "sinful rebellious state", not only will he contaminate the Church, but he will die lost. This message has always been a pertinent one, "sin in the camp is dangerous", One bad apple ruins the whole batch.

The church was not grieving over a heinous sinner in their midst; this passage refers to having no further fellowship nor eat with that unrepentant sinner who is having continued fornication with his father's wife, thereby that sinner may feel guilty and turn to the Lord for forgiveness. "to deliver whom this indeed to Satan the devastation that flesh, in order that his spirit be salvaged upon that day of Lord Jesus." I Corinthians 5:5.

By repenting and accepting Christ.

By being convicted of our sins and ask God to forgive us and to come into our hearts. But one must ask from the heart instead of the lips. Ever heard of a heart felt salvation? But there is a difference between getting saved and getting delivered. Like a druggy, just because one gets saved, that doesn't take away that desire overnight unless they get delivered from it.

John 20:29 .."Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed."
1 Peter 1:8,
Seek Jesus, Call out for Jesus, confess, believe He heard you. Repent. Ask Him to help your unbelief, open your darkened eyes. Trust God will do the work in you.

We have to Confess CHRIST as OUR LORD and SAVIOR and ASK HIM to COME into OUR HEART, and ASK HIM To FORGIVE US of OUR SINS!!!
Refer to Romans 10:9

We become saved by repentance & obedience & Christ accepting us. Our accepting of Christ has nothing to do with salvation. Christ is Lord of lords & King of kings regardless of man accepting that role or not. God the Father did the accepting, the Father accepted the sacrafice of the Christ for the propitiation of sin. I hammer this point because it is important to understand that man has no power or authority to accept Christ, the power and authority of acceptance belongs only to God the Father.

There are many ways of saying the same thing. "Born again", "saved", "Redeemed","inherit eternal life", believe on the Lord".
John 1:12 says it nicely. To all who recieved him, they have been given the power to be called the sons of God.

Concerning I Corinthians 5:5 this scripture is saying that if there is one among you participating in the deeds of the flesh, hand them over to Satan. We are to hand them over so they may recognize the destuction of the flesh and may repent and turn to dependence on the Spirit.

"What must a person do to be saved"? Receive the Salvation of Jesus Christ by Confessing one's sins, believing that the Divine Blood of Jesus will cleanse them of all their sins, then CONTINUE with the Lord, Obey Him(abide in His Truth, follow His Commandments) which is the same as being IN Christ Jesus(walking in the Spirit). Calvary is God's Saving-Grace for mankind. Godly obedience is required to keep one's salvation. Our Eternal Security is in abiding in God's Truth, His Word.
