"there is no biblicalscripture that supports idea of satanic or demonic influence inour dreams". "Even if they have that power, were not to acknowledge it, that will grant them that much more!" "Satin is like a lion, waiting to attack us all the time, that's why we need to read the bibleandpray as much as possible, the Lord has already put saten and his demons at bay, its up to us to keep them there! Remember, the truth is the light, and the light can overpower the darkness!" If you feel you are being tormented, just pray! I hope some one on here with more knowledge of biblical scripture can show us how to rebuke, and pray away the demons and unholy spirits. I really hope this helps! Thank you all and God bless!

The spiritual world doesn't sleep, neither does your spirit when you lay down.

I think if people remembered all their dreams they wouldn't be able to function in what we call a "sane" manner.

I had two doozies over the summer and the meanings are slowly being revealed.

Their faith was that God would provide the Christ. The annointed one that would be the sacrifice for sin. (Christ is a title not a name)

Jesus himself said that the Holy Spirit was "with" his disciples but he would be "in them".

The OT saints were not saved because they were "Christians". There was no such thing before Christ. The OT saint were saved by faith. Read Hebrews 11. Romans 4:3, "For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness."

Godd one!! I'll have to use that one another time! Thanks for making me laugh.

I use to think Satan could enter my dreams until I found out I couldn't eat Pizza after 8:00pm.

"Unless your relationship with God has congealed,"

What does that mean?
---Bruce5656 on 10/17/06

So what you are saying is that everyone prior to the "iondwelling" of the spirit went to hell? What about John the Baptist, Noah, etc?

I repeat, examples of satanic temptation we read of in the Bible are external not internal. Read James 1:14, "But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, (internal wants, wishes and desires arising from the old man) and enticed (external temptation coming from what we see and hear etc.)."

Judas never was and Peter was not in indwelt by the Holy Spirit proir to the death and resurection of Jesus.

Today, we have the Holy Spirit residing in us. How people think that he will abandon us when we sleep or at any other time for Satan to have his way with our minds is beyond me.

Where is the scripture that says a believer cannot be demon oppressed or possesed for that matter? Judas, Peter, just to name a few seemed to be somewhat influenced by Satan at times in their ministry. I'm not saying I believe you can be but I'm justt throwing out the possibility and seeing what I catch! In Christ, Jason

It takes a conscious effort to keep Satan from attacking you when you are awake. Unless your relationship with God has congealed, when you fall asleep, you are at the mercy of Satan. Christians today haven't scratched the surface of who God is and his power, let alone having him protect you during your sleep. To really get to know God is to read, and experience the Bible from beginning to end - without concordances, novels, and other reference books.
---Steveng on 10/16/06

E J, if you don't pray for protection before you sleep, you may get attacked via dreams by the powers of darkness, even as a Christian. (Bruce, I am not trying to contradict your statement.)
---Okebaram on 10/16/06

No, but if you ever experienced sleep paralysis you would think so.
---augua9846 on 10/16/06

Of course Satan can enter our dreams. He is everywhere and it doesn't make any difference if you're awake or sleeping. I feel as though he is planting thoughts in our mind hoping we will act on them. I'm glad that I have the Lord on my side and don't worry about that.

For Christians? No he cannot. No scriputre indicates he can. Examples of temptation in scripture that originate from Satan (not all temptation does) is external temptation that comes through your senses like sight and hearing.

Do you think the Holy Spirit takes the night off when you go to sleep? The Holy Spirit resides in the Christian. 1 John 4:4, "Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world."

Yes. And the gobbuluns'll gitcha ef ya don't watch out! WHOOOOOOO!!!

Come one, EMJ. What happened to "Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world"?

Think this might say something about your question?

I very seldom dream(I have been retired for 10 years) but just last night I had a dream that I had to go on "watch" which is a term used for going to the pilot house on a Mississippi riverboat. However I shook myself awake and said this is only a dream and I was very happy about that.
---mima on 10/16/06

EJ, yes he can. Satan usually attacks Christians through their mind, their thought life, that's why the bible says, "take every thought captive." Plead the blood of Jesus over your mind before you go to sleep at night. Ask the Lord to loose legions of angels to surround you while you sleep and you will have peace when you sleep.
