we are in the last days: satan is running to and fro to upset God's system of things and satan knows he has but a short time..these are all satans doing..pray for the evangelists..they are God's servants.

Not really a big deal. Will it change the way anyone votes in November?

Christ was made fun of by Bush..He told the world that he goes to church ....isnt that just to get votes from believers?. Then later on he said he only goes when he feels that he got his vote, who cares...there may not be another time Bush...once bitten, twice shy boy...

Everyone gets made fun of.
---Pharisee on 4/21/07

Yes, Jack, I do.
Evangelical Christians were already largely part of the Republican base. Not much "currying" needed... esp. considering the opponents he faced.

No surprise...but it doesn't bother me.
(What do you suppose the reason was for reporting it?)

**If the quote is accurate, he said COULD. He didn't say he WOULD do this**

Do you DENY that this is what actually happened?

Do you DENY that Bush did is best to curry favor with (if not actually pander to) evangelical Christians?

I saw this happen in the '76 race as well, where the only real issue seemd to be the spiritual condition and relative piety of the two major candidates.

Jesus got made fun of so why shouldn't his followers expect the same?
---sam on 10/18/06

Jack --
If the quote is accurate, he said COULD. He didn't say he WOULD do this. Unless you know something about his campaign for the Texas governorship, you have no basis to claim it was a "dress rehearsal" for anything.

When GWB was his father's presidential campaign manager, he said, "I could win the White House simply on the Evangelical Christian vote," according to the TV Documentary THE JESUS FACTOR.

His run for Texas governor was a dress rehearsal for this.

And then in 2000, he did EXACTLY what he said he would do: get into office by manipulating the religious feelings of others.

Now think REAL hard. Who in Biblical prophecy does this very thing?
