Willa5568--- I don't know, one well known Old Testment figure (who was not allegorical) was named "supplantar" (that was Jacob).A supplantar is one who takes the place of another most often by underhanded means..not too complimentary.
No one doubts that Eli (in the OT) had a daughter-in-law who had a child she named Ichabod, meaning "the glory of the lord has departed"

1Sa 4:21 And she named the child Ichabod, saying, The glory is departed from Israel: because the ark of God was taken, and because of her father in law and her husband.

Seems like they didn't name children then like we do today. A name like "Job", (the hated) sounds to me
like it could be authentic.
---Donna66 on 6/10/11

Job is an allegorical book. To give proof to this, Job means "hated". What on earth kind of parent would name their child that. But if you look at the book itself and see "the hated ones" complaints, you can see
the allegory and its purpose.

What comes to mind is that although, as in the case of Job, Satan came before God in heaven, he cannot enter the Holy of Holies

A missionary at our church say that satan can go to the doors of heaven. I don't agree with this, but this is what she told to the church

Satan still runs to and fro accusing man to God as he did in the day's of Job, He is held back at the gates by Micheal the Arch Angel.
Soon there will be war in Heaven and every star shall be moved out of it's place and Satan will be cast unto the Earth to roam no longer and will see that his time is short and then seek whom he may devour & wage war against the nations of the world and cause the AC to rise up as God on Earth.

I believe a political man of the E.U will be shot in the head and he will be given the same proposition that Satan gave to Jesus(Worship me and ALL this will be yours), This guy takes his offer and rises up from his deadly wound and reigns for 7 yrs. ect. ect.
---Duane_Dudley_Martin on 12/1/08

Satan can NOT enter into Heaven. Satan was once the archangel Lucifer (who was sinless). Satan decided to rebel against God, and is now who he is and where he is, therefore, he cannot go back.
---Leslie on 12/1/08

There are no references to a throne, or Heaven in Job 1:6 or Job 2:1. It simply says "before the Lord" and the act of coming "before the Lord" is recorded numerous times in other passages of scripture, for example, Moses was "before the Lord" and Abraham stood "before the Lord". Furthermore, "sons of God" are believers, not angels. Even today, when believers come "before the Lord" to pray or worship, the devil, the tempter, the accuser, comes along too.
---Wayne on 11/30/08

"Who says Satin goes in and out of heaven? "We'll these verses in Job 1 6:7 say so.
6 "Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them.
7 "And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it."

Lucifer Has Fallen
0ne
Oh, lucifer has fallen, God has cast him down,
Jesus thrust him from the throne, like lightning
to the ground.
A fire from God shall come from the midst of him
and ashes he shall be, and all that know him shall
be amazed at the sight that they shall see.
Lucifer has fallen, he is fallen, is their cry, he has
no more power he is become as weak as I.
---Exzucuh on 3/5/07

Being a son, comes with privileges - but angels are just ministering Spirit doing GODs will&guarding those who inherit salvation. Sons are raised from dead, sons are also friends of GOD and know His business, Sons havethe privilege to call Him Abba father, Sons have the Spirit of Sonship, Sons were all sinners inthe beginning (not sons then) and Christ died for THEM to set them right before GOD.

Toby, how in the world can you say I am attacking you? Just because I said you were streaching it to far calling Satan God's son? That is not an attack. It is not Scriptural. Please, if your feelings are going to be hurt anytime someone answers you and doesn't agree with you, I think you are in the wrong place. Haven't you notice most everyone here doesn't agree much since some are not even Christian, even Muslims are on line.

2. I don't seem to be saying what you stated. I made it clear. Satan was a created being, not a human being. He was an angel like all other angels, maybe high in order, but nevertheless an angel. He was not a son of God, but a created being. Now isn't that an anwswer? You are coming out with some rediculous idea that Satan was God's son and the bible does not state that.
---lisa on 1/25/07

3. You have a right to believe whatever you so desire, so all I did was answer. If you don't like my answer, then I am very sorry you don't but life goes on. Nothing is really lost. Believing that Satan is another son of God, would make him equal to Christ. Not Biblical, but false.
---lisa on 1/25/07

lisa. please tell me why you attack me rather than answer the questions??
You seem to be saying that if you start off with a perfect son and he goes bad he is no longer your son. Are you sure you are right?
---Toby on 1/25/07

Satan is different. He is always going to God and accusing Gods people. He is the god of this world. Besides, we are not going to understand everything. He is evil, and he can do NO good.

Toby, You're streaching your point so far that what you speak is blasphemus. Jesus is the incarnated Son of God. The angels were created beings but not human. They were only created as servants of God. His messengers, His chariots. They ever hearken to the Word of His mouth and do His commands. And God sent an angel unto Jerusalem to destroy it: and as he was destroying, the Lord beheld, and He repented Him of the evil, and said to the angel that destroyed, it is enough, Stay now thine hand.."
---lisa on 1/23/07

2. That and many more verses speak that angels are created being and do the will God whether evil or good angels. The angels were created perfect until pride was found in Lucifer. The sacrafice of Jesus was ordain from eternity, for only the blood of a human without sin could pay for the sins of believers. Jesus was human and angels are not human. God ordain it to be that way and that way only.
---lisa on 1/23/07

wow lisa you say it but miss it "You were perfect in your ways from the day you were created" So tell me who created him?
Are the angels He created not called Sons.
He is the SON of the morning star. no twisting scripture, no trying to make it different. Why was it that our Saviour had to die, why not Gabriel or Michael, Why our Saviour. Do you know. If you do not understand that Lucifer is the son of the creator then who created him?
---Toby on 1/22/07

Toby, in answer to "bright and morning star" in Rev. 22:16, is in reference to Jesus been the brightest star announcing the arrival of the day. When Jesus comes, He will be the brigthtest star who will shatter the darkness of man's night and herald the dawn of God's glorious day. If you go to Revelations 2:27,28, you will see what I am talking about. "He shall rule them with a rod of iron. They shall be dashed to pieces like the potter' vessels'- as I also have received from My Father;

2. and I will give Him "the morning star". He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches." In Isaiah 14:12, "son of Morning" refers to "the the shining one" and He was considered the shining one, Traditions at the time saw the stars as representing gods battling among themselves for places of preeminence. But Lucifer was the shiniest of them all, considered a high position. He was not son of Christ. So please Toby don't even consider

3. connecting Lucifer in any way to been the son of God or related to Christ. The bright and morning star refers to the stars of the night in a tradition of that time. I don't have any idea how anyone could try to connect Christ with Lucifer, and even have the courage to say it. But it doesn't surprise me.

Satan can NOT go to Heaven!
---Leslie on 1/7/07

greetings.sin did originate in the mind of lucifer. His domain of authority, including earth was in heaven. From his evil intentions that later transpired into rebellion gravitated down to our and other domains bringing catastrophic results through the acts of his many associates who defected from the original plan of development.Because of the out pouring of the spirit of truth and the fact Jesus now resides at the right hand of the Father, the rebellion is over. Before this Satan was a frequent flyer.

greetings.Imperfection does not exist in Paradise.Only perfection does. Many confuse paradise with heaven. One was created ,one was not.Any creation (spirits and angels or others)that contains the potential to act in a self or a free will attitude can at any time harbor the thought of sin and act upon it.Satan will be judged and will become no more for all that God creates will some day be a new heaven ,just like paradise.Satan has no place to dwell.

Mima, Satan can still enter heaven. He still goes there to accuse us. He hasn't yet been banned from heaven where he was. The passage in Rev 12:7-9 is usually mistaken to refer to a time before adam and Eve but it actually refers to a future event in the tribulation when Satan will be cast out of heaven.

Satan is a fallen angel, Angels don't receive the Atonement. The Atonement is for the mankind. Redemption was not given to angels. The one's that stayed with the Lord, are saved forever, the one's that rebelled, are lost forever. Jesus did not die for them but for mankind. Doesn't matter what Satan does, for it is written already what will become of him and it will not change for any reason.
---lisa on 10/31/06

Satan is a fallen Angel, he is in the relm of God, though he is kept at a distance. God's relm is timeless, not like our human world. Satan has access to God until the fulness of time, or when the New Heaven and New Earth. His rebelion in Heaven happened long ago, and it is still happening. When Jesus saw him fall from heaven, He may have been refering to the future since Jesus can see the fullness of time.
---Jared on 10/31/06

Satan can't go to Heaven. By scripture, he is condemned to hell. Hell was not made for me or you. It was made for Satan. However, if we reject or don't accept Jesus, we can go with Satan to hell, but God made a way that no man would have to go to hell because of the price Jesus Christ paid on the Cross for the remission of sins.
---ralph_c. on 10/31/06

Earl, God cannot make anything that is not perfect. How sin entered Lucifer (to give him his angelic name) is a mystery no-one but God knows. Earth was perfect. Man was perfect (or 'GOOD', to use God's phraseology). Satan later corrupted it. The why and the wherefore God only knows.

greetings, for laure,i did say it.for any one to be perfect then it or they must be without fault(without the need of any development).absolute perfection is that which is not created.all intelligent life hi and lo are given the words 'be ye perfect as my Father is perfect".that said, imperfection exists in that he spoke of and about.if heaven was perfect when created then it would be without persons that caused a rebellion, or some day become a "new heaven"where is the prison jesus visited?
---earl on 10/20/06

Mima, In response to your further comment about the belief of a " new heaven and a new earth," I don't think God is going to re-create heaven and earth, but, re-new or restore the existing ones. If God had to destroy heaven and earth literally, then Satan would have accomplished his goal of causing the destruction of God's creation.
---tommy3007 on 10/20/06

Job 1:6 does not speak of heaven, but a physical location on earth. Just as Satan also goes to church, God's House, and sits among the saints. Was not sinuous Judas among the righteous saints? God is Omnipresent, which is in all places at the same time, even if you make your bed in hell, behold, he is there, for all things are naked and open to the sight of God. He that made the eye, will he not see? No, Satan does not enter heaven, instead he was thrown out of it.
---Eloy on 10/19/06

PART ONE
Earl - I disagree. You cannot say that Satan and his minions were never perfect. They were. Otherwise they were not in heaven. However, the rest is a mystery to us, and as such, we should not dwell on it, but accept it as fact, for as such is it portrayed in the Bible.

PART TWO
Satan and a 3rd of heaven fell - how, we do not know. Why, we do know. And, in this heaven and this earth Satan has access to God. Why, we do not know. But the Bible tells us this is so. I say we should accept this fact and, and not try to understand 'how', because to do so is to question God's wisdom and knowledge.
---laure5759 on 10/20/06

greetings, lucifer, satan and the prince were all created in heaven in addition to all those who rebelled called the dragon.they did not originate on earth, nor were created here.they once had free reign of heaven and earth.none of them obtained absolute perfection status and are now relieved of their one time responsibilities to God and the development of mankind.one day the heaven we know will become a new heaven,a perfection closer to that of paradise which is absolute perfection.
---earl on 10/19/06

God is allowing alot of things that don't ordinarily go on in his ball park. (Heaven and Earth)
No one who's ever lived can say that God's done nothing for them...Revelation 12:10 says that day and night the devil is before God accusing the brethren - while God's Angels keep record of good works and all, Matthew 18:10 (And we thought we invented the information super highway?)
God is accepting alot of people that he really shouldn't have to if Jesus never came
---Pharisee on 10/19/06

The truth of the matter on this one is that you will have to ask God for the answer. I don't know how Satan could do so, but, the Bible clearly says he does, or at least did in the case of Job.

Reference Job 1:6-7.

Who says, "sin cannot enter heaven"? See Rev. 20:11-15. It's true, sin has no place of permanence in heaven. However, it (in the person of all unrepentant sinners, rebellious angels & mankind) is temporarily summoned, judged & then cast into the Lake of Fire.
