I learned a lot about forgiveness from the film Joseph. I think his compassion and loving forgiveness mirrors Jesus who prayed, "Father forgive them for they know not what they do."

I pray God helps me to forgive others. I would not want to be one who is any impediment to their acceptance to God.

If you forgive and forget debts someone owes you, you can have peace. If someone has borrowed a book, tool, coat, and will not return it - buy yourself another one. God will bless you. Forgiving keeps you from becoming bitter or angry against friends and family. Luke 6:30 "Give to everyone who asks of you. From him who takes away your goods do not ask them back." Forgiveness. Consider these type of loans as gifts. Give only as much as you can afford, without expecting return. Rachel***

Amen Linda! To be so filled with the HS, abiding in Him, that nothing offends. Look at the love of Jesus, at the cross, praying Father forgive them for they know not what they do. Steven prayed the same as he was in the process of being stoned to death, and beheld Jesus!!!

I think like most things if we are at least willing to take a step God meets us more then half way and "enables" us the rest of the way. Unforgiveness eats at us like drinking salt or poison at first it is nothing but later it causes us to be sick and even die. If we dont forgive we then give that person power to "exist" in our world, but when we forgive we take "that power" away and are freed.

"Great peace have they that love Thy law and NOTHING shall offend them."

I believe we can love the law of love, the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus, and the law of faith expressed in Christ so much that offense won't even be a problem. Now that is a people who seek peace and pursue it.

First, Give it to Jesus, and then REMIND/REFRESH yourself of how the Lord forgave YOU when you honestly asked. God Bless!

Nobody teaches you. You don't learn it. You simply do it. It's the Art of Letting Go....Let go....Let go....Let go....there are no conditions on Letting Go....you don't wait for the "other" to Let Go first. Just Let it Go.......

One way to learn to forgive is to remember when forgiveness was extended to us when we made a serious mistake.
A second way is to read about, experience and meditate on the forgiveness that God offers us every time we mess up! How much He is willing to forive and forget is amazing! P.

If folks knew the "secret" of forgiveness, they would easily forgive their offender. Everyone thinks if you forgive someone, it lets that person off the hook for what they did to you. The reality is: when you choose to forgive someone, they still suffer the consequences of their sin. We reap what we sow. Didn't David reap the consequences of murdering Uriah? He repented and fasted and God still took the baby born to him and Bathsheba.

Continued-so the "secret" is when you forgive someone, it releases YOU from harboring bitterness and resentment, and the other person whom you forgave reaps the consequences of what they did to you. Trust that God is a God of justice and HE will deal with them for their offense. I've seen it happen over and over in my life. I walk in a state of forgiveness because "we wrestle NOT against flesh and blood,"

Seek to live your life full of the Holy Spirit. In John 15 Jesus told us to abide in him, and that if we did this we would be one with him as he is with the Father.

Jesus also said "follow me" to any who would choose to be his disciple, and this includes suffering for the things that are most important to God. Each must choose 'my rights' or God's love.

The Spirit teaches these things John 14:26, 1 John 2:27

I believe the first step is learning how to accept forgiveness. God forgives us, all we have to do is thank Him. We all (I hope) want to be more "Godlike" so what better place to begin... He does, we should.

Right smack dab in the middle of the Lord's Prayer is "forgive us as we forgive others."

Corrie ten Boom told a story of meeting one of the cruelest guards in Ravensbruek after one address she gave. "To think that Christ has forgiven me," he said. And Corrie realized that she had to forgive him, too, if she wished Christ to forgive her.

I learned forgiveness by studying the forgiveness Christ gave me on the cross, and seeing my unworthiness.

Only through the power of the Holy Spirit living in the heart of the believer.

It takes God to mend a person's heart. And a willing heart at that. Sometimes it is hard to forgive and depends on the situation, it takes time and alot of God. It took me 17 years and alot of God and prayers to forgive a person.
