How To Be A Better Christian

"We are all sinners" is a phrase I hear almost every Sunday. Then I hear, "no one is perfect." Why are so some people so quick to say it but not learn to say, "how can I be a better Christian."?

The first part to being a better Christian is to love your God with all your heart, mind and soul. The second part is to love your neighbor. The trick is to know what love is. It's rare to find true love and apply it, even in Christiandom.

I think some people use those sayings as a crutch.Though they are true sayings. Some people wouldn't, and don't, change.Even though their life can depend on it.We need a better relationship with Jesus Christ!!

Well, that is what it really boils down to my friend. A preacher, you would have to listen closely, should give you some spiritual insights on this. Have a good day.

Amen to Mrs. Morgan....We are NOT sinners. To say we ARE sinners, is a denial of the Gospel.

(II.)I WAS a sinner, now I am saved by the Grace of God, have freedom, liberty, power through the divine Blood of Jesus, and no longer have to walk in darkness, unless I chose to do so(neglecting to yield to God's Truth, neglecting to use that overcoming power that God offer's through His Son). It's hard to find churches that promotes godly reasoning, godly thinking, churches that speak of the mind of Christ. God Bless.

T o be a better Christian as you stated takes time and patience with God and with yourself. As God indicates in the Bible, "I WILL CHANGE YOU LITTLE BY LITTLE". It is not [chunk by chunk]. God is sure to get all of the credit, if we are not overnight, this gigantic Christian looking down on everyone else.[pride would set in] God does the work. We only have to be willing to learn and grow. in His timing you and I will miraously make it.

Satan has pulled a slick trick on some people convincing them they can't be perfect or live without sin,but in accepting that they in turn reject Christ's fact,He said Be ye holy as I am holy.If it weren't possible Christ wouldn't have said it. With Holiness comes the perfect Matthew 5:48 be perfect as your father in heaven is perfect. Christ was tempted yet without sin,we may be tempted to sin but until we give in to temptation it's not sin.The power of the Holy Ghost helps us resist temptation.

However, even though we are called Children of God, we DO STILL SIN. So we need to realise that, while we are still alive here on earth, that we WILL be tempted, and we WILL give in to sin. There is no way that we can be the same as Christ here on earth, or else why Paul have experienced conflict between the old and the new?

Once a person is borned again, they are no longer a sinner but a Child of God. They (we) are free from our (past) sins. but do need to work on our present and future sins. Grant it no one is perfect on this earth, but we all should be striving to become that way.

Thanks for letting us know Ralph. I've probably done that and appreciate what you're saying. We can do better to talk about things that would lead to improvement.

(I.)Because it's EASIER. This is not God's reasoning, and will be a self-fulfilling prophecy every time! I would never call myself a sinner. Godly reasoning, godly thinking is so important, Most Christian's "set themselves up to fail" they refuse to believe, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me".
