Prophesied To Die In 2007

There was a woman who prophesied to a church earlier this year. She said that God said if someone would not repent of the things that they were doing, God said that they would not live to see 2007. The leaders did not recieve it. (Must say they were practicing things not Biblical) Your thougths?

Charismania is the term which describes any individual who has given themselves over to unbiblical excesses of emotionalism and subjectivity.
A Charismatic extremist is any individual who believes there are "restored" apostles and "restored" prophets walking the earth today.

False prophets have been around since the beginning of Christianity.
---Michelle on 2/26/08

Charismatic witchcraft.

Whenever somone steps into the position of God the Holy Spirit, and justifies what they are doing with an attempt to accomplish a spiritual thing, they use fleshly means usurping the will of God and His power, this is charismatic witchcraft.
---Michelle on 1/1/08

Charismatic witchcraft can be emotional blackmail.
Ex. People claiming to be hurt by others, their language is sad and their writing styles evoke much emotion for the reader. The appeals are to the heart to feel sorry for that poor hurt person. Those very same people who desire you to feel their pain can also be the very same ones using charismatic witchcraft to intimidate and to dominate, and they are now using it in the form of emotional blackmail.
---Michelle on 1/1/08

Charismatic witchcraft.
These same people claiming to be born again some 25-30 years, and in the next breath claiming they are "weaker" brothers and sisters in the Lord and offended at another's godly actions and expressions straight from the Scriptures. This is what Judas tried and what has torn apart many churches, and caused others to leave the Church.
---Michelle on 1/1/08

The Church is filled with unregenerated people. Too many participate in tearing the body of Christ apart using Charismatic Witchcraft. Destroying men and women because we want to make them accept our interpretation or position.
There's no room for intimidation in the church. There's no room for domination in the church. There's no room for emotional blackmail in the church. There's no room for manipulation in the church.

This is charismatic witchcraft and it is not for the body of Christ.
---Michelle on 1/1/08

Everybody and their mother is a prophet these days. One can safely ignore 99.9% of the so called prophets and 99.99% of their prophecies.

1Cr 14:5 e prophesied: for greater [is] he ...receive edifying. 14:12 ..... zealous of spiritual [gifts], seek that ye may excel to the edifying of the church. .. Let all things be done unto edifying.12:19 ....we do] all things, .. for your edifying.
Eph 4:12 ..., for the edifying of the body of Eph 4:29 Let no corrupt communication .. out of your mouth, .. is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.
................EDIFYING
who does it edify?

the canon of scripture is closed
Rev 22:18-19
mark qouted it right "test the spirits"

The redeemed must come to faith as He says all will be taught of GOD

Jn 6:45 It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me.
Isa 54:13
---steven-rem7000 on 8/31/07

Just because somebody CLAIMS to be a prophet of God, that doesn't automatically make them one. Scripture prescribes very different actions for false prophets (stoning).

1 John 4:1
"Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world."
1 Corinthians 14:32
"And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets."
---Mark on 8/25/07

1 Chronicles 16:22
Saying, Do not touch My anointed ones, and do My prophets no harm.

Psalm 105:15
Saying, Do not touch My anointed ones, and do My prophets no harm.

The Word of God states this twice, so it must be very important to God...like a verily, verily said by Jesus.
---Holly4jc on 8/24/07

2) The difference is when you are a prophet, you are judged much more severely when you mess up than any other ordinary believer would be judged if they missed what God was saying and went off course (and I am talking about fellow believers judging you). You are expected to be PERFECT and NEVER mess up! It takes time to establish that level of discernment to hear God very clearly. We all have our "off" moments, times when we missed what God was telling us. No one is perfect, only Jesus.
---Holly4jc on 8/24/07

1) As with all believers or ministers of the Lord, there are times when a true prophet of God can miss God altogether or be a little off, they are people too and can mess up, just like anyone else. No matter what your gifting or calling, there is always a process we go through to learn to walk in that calling. All Christians have to learn how to recognize the voice of God as opposed to our flesh or the devil.
---Holly4jc on 8/24/07

1 Corinthians 13:9
For we know in part and we prophesy in part.

May I also add that when we get a prophetic word, it is for an appointed time. It may not come to pass for 20 years or it can manifest in only one week...only God knows and everyone knows that God's timetable is not our timetable. If the word comes to pass 2 years from now, how will you feel when you judge that prophet as false at this point in time because the word did not come to pass right away?
---Holly4jc on 8/24/07

Bryan... i know your intentions are good, but to wish someone dead is not very christ like...
I have heard of people who prophesied someone was going to die if they didnt repent and they died
---mark_B. on 8/24/07

haha whoops that sounded stupid...

prophesied in a specific period of time that they would die and they died in that specific period of time...sorry haha everyone dies
---mark_B. on 8/24/07

when i hear about prophets and death, it makes me wish we lived under old testament social laws. then we could stone all of these liars when their prophecies don't come to pass. these people are so arrogant to think that they speak for God. they need to read the punishment God once imposed for false prophets.

I find the answer to that question in Jeremiah:

Jer 28:9 The prophet which prophesieth of peace, when the word of the prophet shall come to pass, then shall the prophet be known, that the LORD hath truly sent him.
---Linda6563 on 8/24/07

Well it is March 2, 2007. If they have lived to see 2007 I believe you have your answer there.

You need to find out about this womans prophetic, or seer, track records, some of us have these gifts, as what Chris mentioned about Ananias and Saphira, they both dropped dead, It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God, All too many times these people are right on target, is she a false prophet? or true? But ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS, when the prophet speaks, IT HAPPENS, just as they said it would. When they are a REAL PROPHET OF GOD.

I have heard several simular prophecies my self this year. And I have witnessed many christians and ministers that were not totally right with God be stricken with illnesses and even passed away. Turn on your TV and find out for yourself. It's happening.

How could anyone profit or take delight that a death prophecy came to pass? One month left to go...it's morbid, and it's like voodoo. Only instead of sticking pins into a doll, life and death are in the power of the tongue. That's not God.

still got a month to be right.
i once heard a similar prohecy - the guy it was aimed at was dead 12 weeks later - the coroner couldn't determine c.o.d.

Jeremiah 12:5,6
If you have run with the footmen, and they
have wearied you,
Then how can you contend with horses?
And if in the land of peace,
In which you trusted, they wearied you,
Then how will you do in the flooding
of the Jordan?
For even your brothers, the house
of your father,
Even they have dealt treacherously
with you;
Yes, they have called a multitude
after you.
Do not believe them,
Even though they speak smooth words
to you. Rachel***
---Rachel on 11/15/06

From personal experience with false words, fleshy moves of "God"; people like anything new, exciting, follow our heads instead of confirming with God. Why not spend time with the Lord, He'll give you a Word. From His written word or directly into your Spirit man. If TV fails, or some huge event, what will you do if you can't run and get a word? What if you need to know right now where to turn and where to go, are you able to hear from the Lord? Ministry stars cannot help you in emergencies.

"That was many years ago, still single, and not flying on Air Force One or Two. These false prophecies do damage."

Jonie, I'm not claiming that this particular prophecy is genuine, but sometimes when God gives a vision or prophecy it takes years before its fulfilled. Look at Isaiahs prophecies regarding the coming of the Messiah or Jesus' prophecies regarding His second coming. And how long did Abraham have to wait? Anyway, thats all I had to say.

Take care.

".. and yes he can prophesy against a rebellious person that they will die in a certain time if they continued in sin..."

Okebaram,I agree.I believe death related prophecies can be towards anyone. Isaiah 38 came to mind when I read your comment.Hezekiah was sick and near death.Isaiah said to him,"Thus saith the Lord,Set your house in order:for you shall die,and not live." Of course,God answered Hezekiahs prayer (verses 2-5) with a 'yes' and let him live 15 more years.
---Kay on 11/15/06

1) there was no mentioned name of who that person would be. words from God are very specific. so what that woman said could be just a personal opinion couched in "thus says the Lord". 2) was that woman in a leadership position? calling for someone to die is very serious business. i dont believe that God would choose a person in the pews to speak it. 3) God's heart is repentance first. not death. 4) the "prophesy" has to witness to others.

Jonie, your anger at me, even though I have only said the truth, doesn't speak of a Christlike character. Jonie, first of all, I have never prophecied in any church. Second of all, what warnings did I give to not touch a prophet? I only remember explaining what that statement means, as well as cautioning not to negate a "prophecy" WITHOUT valid reason to say it's not from God. Thirdly, since this is an internet chat, and bloggers go with whatever names they choose, how can I even begin to figure out who is a woman and who isn't? Are all the people I have disagreed with on this or any blog all women?
---Okebaram on 11/12/06

Okebaram, you use doublespeak. Whenever a woman has given a scriptural account, you attack. Especially, when it comes to prophecy. My 'feelings' tell me you probably prophesy in your church, that's why we've been given all of these warnings from you about not touching the 'prophet'. This would leave you free from any biblical examination, and dangers if you question Okebaram.

Jonie, if you are going to criticize a person, say something that makes sense: where did you get that I don't care for women from?
---Okebaram on 11/10/06

Okebaram, why do I get the feeling you don't really care for women. Especially when they have something to say. Is this your culture or your nature? You may swallow everything a self-appointed prophet pulls over your eyes, but I've watched too much church junk that's based on nothing but the five senses.
---Jonie on 11/10/06

If you judge 'fruits' by feelings, my 'feelings' must be correct also. Charismania can be so fleshy and perverse. Without order in a church, it's like "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest". I watched a 'prophet' dump large bottles of olive oil all over people, anointing them from their head to their toes. When people work themselves up in the flesh, it's nothing short of insane. It can attract the unstable that follow a strange path, not spiritually healthy.

On the other hand, Jesus' 2nd coming is an example of the type of prophecies that do NOT include dates.

A man in our church became a Christian, his wife was a practicing witch. She left him. Before she did, she placed written curses between his mattress, in the walls, everywhere. Zim. Satan doesn't know when we will die either. He is not like God with Full knowledge. Satan is only has the knowledge given to him by God and I'm pretty sure he wasn't given enough to even be close to equivalent to God.

Similar question on 'Am I a prophet'. It is this type of charismania that will destroy a church and the sheep. The response below, don't put your lips on the man or woman of God, can kill you. That is fear based theology that resembles witchcraft. I do know what a legitimate prophet is. Predicting the death a church member may appeal to the senses of charismaniacs, but Jesus came to set the captives free, not kill them. Thief on the cross didn't have his life together until his dying breath.

Donna, in saying be silent, I mean be cautious, not in a rude way, nevertheless in a scoldingly way because I find presumption regarding the source of spiritual things to be a very negative attitude. And I will tell anyone, if you don't know what the source of a prophesy is, keep quiet otherwise you could blaspheme, even though you had good intentions. Though, I agree you didn't say it was from Satan. Sorry about that; but it is almost as bad to say it is man made without proper reason.
---Okebaram on 11/8/06

Okebaram, where are your scriptures for those conclusions?

Jared and Rachel^^^, weren't dates attached to many biblical prophesies concerning Isreal and Jesus? There are prophecies that cannot have a date, otherwise they are false, like the second coming of Christ. #2 ...How do I know? Because I know of instances where He already did such. On the other hand, prophecies like these come from demons and man all the time. But we do not have sufficient criteria to rationalize whether this particular instance was from God or not. Period!

Some matters must be handled in private not like a Broadway play-that is one of them! Besides she has a 50/50 chance people die every year young, old, healthy and sick! Now if that person is not a "strong" person she has "spoken" fear, anxiety to that person & their loved ones. Life & death are in the power of the tongue, the same w/blessing & cursing. That prophet should be careful God doesnt like being "toyed" w/and their words may come back on them.
---Jeanne on 11/8/06

Jared, you are correct. No man or woman knows the time someone else will die, unless you commit the murder.
No false prophet can tell you the lotto numbers to pick. If it were so, they would be the richest people in the world. They would know what stocks to pick, when to leave tornado alley, and sell homes before hurricanes hit. Psychics can't do any of the above either. Rachel***

---Okebaram on 11/7/06

I would not give any attention to any person that puts a date to prophocies because they are 99% wrong. This is my main rejection of the LDS and the JW faiths Each have had prophocies that put dates on them for the "end of the World" and they have been revised to cover face, when they didn't happen. No woman can tell you when you will die. But if she gave no date and said why you will die (as in if you don't quite smoking then you will die) then she might have more clout.
---Jared on 11/7/06

Donna, apparently, you have forgotten the story of Ananaias and Saphira. Like I said before, what makes you think that God couldn't make such a statement? There are actual instances of such prophesies and either their fulfillment, or the repentance of the persons concerned. God CAN be angered--and justly so. Watch what you say before you start declaring God's word to be Satan's. You simply don't know if this was from God, so be silent.

Okebarem -- Are you familiar with prophesies given in church? Context is almost non-existent. WHO speaks it matters little, because the real question is; Does this come from God? I am applying the Biblical test: Does it edify the church as in I Corinthians. Prophesy is a gift from the Holy spirit. It's judged by the spirit, more than logic. (same as prophesies in the Bible).I do not believe this one edifies the church. And it is nearly a "Personal prophesy", which is not Biblical.

Donna and others how can we know whether or not it was a true prophecy when we neither know the context nor the prophetess. It is very possibly true, and yet very possibly false. Who said God couldn't make such a statement? The Lord's wrath is not something trivial. On the other hand, man or demons could say such a thing when God didn't. But we don't have enough information by which to decide in this case, unless there is direct word from the Holy Spirit on whether or not it was true.
---Okebaram on 11/1/06

I do not believe this was a legitimate prophesy, since the purpose of prophesy is to edify the church..."edification and exhortation and comfort" I Cor 14:3.

This "message" seems aimed at generating fear within to church. I think the leadership used wisdom in not receiving it. The Lord is able to deal with individuals... individually.
---Donna2277 on 11/1/06

If the prophesy was accepted, consider that any member of that church who dies before 2007 is going to be suspect.
..."He seemed like a Christian, wonder if he was hiding something...did you see how friendly he was with ____? or "Do you remember how she dressed at that wedding? Ever wonder why?".
"Where do you think he got the money to buy a car like that?"
The leaders had discernment when they rejected that "message" from "God".
