80 hospitals have closed in California due to exhausted resources. Is it Christian to refuse anyone at the borders? Should the floodgates be left open for one and all?

Jesus cared for all...but He made it clear that there were CONDITIONS for entering HIS Kingdom. He rebuffed the uncommitted. Luk 9:62 And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.

And he declared (Mat 7:21) Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven, but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

Many immigrants from Mexico do not want citizenship, just a job, schools and medical care. They'll return to Mexico. Some seek citizenship but not at the cost of learning a new language and new laws.

Our ancestors retained native customs, but they accepted the laws and culture of the United States.

If a man spends 11 years working in this country, he darn well ought to know English! And he's responsible to learn the laws of the country he's in! It would be no different than if I went to Mexico and got a job there (not applying though lol) and never learned to speak Spanish or the laws down there, would be my own darn fault.

What about our man, Pedro Zapeta, who reportedly earned $59,000 washing dishes for eleven years, here in America, but had all that money taken away because he who spoke only Hispanic did not know the law required him to declare it? The ruling, according to my research, has been changed to fine him maybe $10,000 dollars for failing to declare. In any case, he sounds like someone who can manage finances, so maybe he could rescue the American economy (o: *He* would be an undeclared resource that maybe we should not let go back to Guatemala? Jesus did say, "He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much," in Luke 16:10. (o:

I think that we need to realize that closing in the borders is not wrong. I am sorry that those in Mexico suffer so much. We need to be praying for their government. Mexicans need to start to do what our revolutionaries did with the British...fight for freedom and getting rid of the corruption there.
---melanie on 9/1/08

God bless you for your service Wayne, I'm sooo sorry you haven't been treated right either! :( You're absolutely right--it isn't fair and that's our government for ya. But God bless guys and women like you--amen!

There's a fine line to consider. In making a decision on this issue it's up to each individual what he believes in his heart. His intention. As I mentioned before to someone else, we all have an opinion because of what we know, think, studied and believe.
In my opinion, I also believe Wayne is correct about the immigration issue. I also think that Catherine is right in, they just flatly don't want them here.
I am a hispanic on my great grand father side who was hispanic, Tejano, born in Texas when it became a state, I still believe that we are overwhelm by the millions coming in illegally.
There is a legal process and everyone should follow the law of the land whatever it is at the time. There has to be some kind of control.

But whose land is it, if Mexican territory was taken by force of bloodshed? And if sovereign tribal nations were invaded and forced into treaties which have not been kept > the law requires that treaties be kept. Plus, the real law says not to covet your neighbor's goods, which includes not coveting another nation's land. So, it was not a Christian nation which coveted and killed for land of sovereign tribal nations. And if this nation has truly loved others as herself, would she be invading other countries with her industrial pollution and car fumes which are effecting, reportedly, the whole earth? May God in control decide who benefits now, then, from resources here. God bless all others as ourselves.
---Bill_bila5659 on 8/30/08

Wayne is correct. Also, God made countries to protect the citizens. Nimrod rebelled against God to want to make a NWO. He was the first politician. The result was God created many different languages so that we would be forced back into small societies. The Vatican is behind the bringing down of all borders so that it can extend its powers. Notice how the immigrants are basically ancestral Catholics. Note the people making the laws in the Supreme Court are Catholic. Note that Joe Biden is a Catholic and Obama was launched by the Jesuits. Clinton educated by them at Georgetown. It is merely religious freemasonry. Anne Boleyn lost her head for opposing Catholicism in Britain and bringing the Bible to the people.
---frances008 on 8/29/08

Let me say this, the constitution does not say A person may break federal law to be here, and as far as the statue of liberty, it was given to us by the freemasons. Yeshua does not advocate breaking the law either. I served as a Marine and now I cant even get a job because I dont speak spanish, is this the country you want. Foreigners are treated better then our own people. Is this Godly. Charity begins at home.

Every US citizen is a refugee or a direct descendant of one. thats what makes America the land of hope and dreams, thats what makes America unique, thats what makes Amerca greater then any other nation. to send any home is even against the declaration of independance. take the homeless, sick tired give them hope (ispired on the text on the statue of liberty. Any NATIONALIST saying that the frontiers should be closed doess not understand the root of the US (a BELGIAN)

No, Jesus would not turn anyone away, but I doubt He thinks the countless $ we spend on our illegals while our own veterans and seniors scrimp and scrape to survive is a good thing either! Tell you what, you go down to Mexico and try to get all that food and medical care as an illegal down there--good luck!

How would you feel if you were waiting years to get into our country, trying to do it the correct, legal way, and all the while you see people doing it faster, but illegally. NOT FAIR. If a person wants to live here, fine, but do it the right way.
---sue on 6/7/07

People who enter a country illegally are criminals in that country. All who help them are guilty of aiding and abetting a criminal - itself a crime. Does the Bible teach us to be law breakers or to be law abiding?
---Jerry on 6/7/07

How would you like for a total stranger to come to your house and just move in? He eats your food, he sleeps in your bed and you spend your money keeping this person. He plans never to leave. Everytime you want to go some place, he has your car. Your family begins to suffer for it. So, is it Christian to keep this person and loose your family or to keep your family?
---Rev_Herb on 6/2/07

WOULD JESUS refuse someone at the border? I do not believe that it is CHRIST LIKE to refuse anyone at the border. IT is not our border. BELONGS TO GOD. SORT OUT CRIMINALS LATER. SOME only wants a job.

COLD heart, how can anyone turn away somebody that only wants a job and a bed? SOME people do not even care if they are criminals or not, they just FLAT DON'T want them here. ILLEGALS, CHANGED TO PEOPLE IN NEED.

Probably better to refuse them at the border than at the front door!

Donna w/respect-Lou Dobbs said Mexico is not taking care of their own & a lot are starving. Mexico is the richest Latin country it is rich or poor. I know missionaries from Mexico & they are thankful for 1 bowl of rice/beans a day for the orphans. So many are near starvation while the Mexican goverment grows fatter. Lou Dobbs said they dont hire their own but import Guatamalian workers which will work even cheaper. Dog the Bounty hunter said one bottle of water and one bowl of food a day he got in jail.

I live in a border state -we must stop the "jobs" & they wont come so companies/farmers/rich people w/pool boys/gardners etc have to be hit if no one hires them they will go back. Then maybe Mexico will take action & help its own people who spend 4% on education, health care for the poor is 0. Of course they send back money every single immigrant did that.I am a history major. The irish/Italians/Asians etc.all worked like dogs sent money home to bring over their family lived 12 in one flat.

I am an American on disability and it bugs me that a Mexican family can come here, not bother to learn the language, and gather much more in food stamps than I do! Somehow it don't seem fair--and there are MANY like me!
---Mary on 11/11/06

Although many are poor, these immigrants are not starving. They are not homeless, They will not die if they have to return to Mexico. Most COUNT on returning to Mexico; their families are there.. They aren't interested in becoming citizens. Most of the Mexicans we turn back at the border, keep trying till they get in. Some come to evade the law, some to supply drug dealers. MOST come because wages that Americans consider pitifully low ...for manual labor..will buy about 4 times as much in Mexico.

I would probably run across the border if starving too, so I feel for them. But we must think of our people too or we will end up like that. We must punish the people hiring them, usually if U hit the "money" people these things stop. It is NOT a racial thing like some want to make it. If I went to France did not learn French, did not pay taxes, lived, worked and sent my kids to school there they would have a fit and kick me out- & rightly so. Mexico must help its own.

I don't think that it's right for the illegals to come over here and earn money to send or take back to their country. When my father came over from Scotland he had to learn all about our laws, swear to obey them and become a citizen. That's what should be done now. It's not fair that they can get on welfare, free education and making our schools over crowded. I just pray that the Democrats will do something about it.

Does the Bible not tell us to honor our countrys' laws ? Yes, and we have laws about how to get into our country. The illegals are breaking our laws by crossing the border the way they are. marga8388

Jesus grew up a carpenter's son, likely a laborer. I can't imagine Him as the effeminate, pale, shy person holding a lily many do. He threw the money changers & barterers from the temple by Himself (not weak or meek). He has values & respects truth. He detests users. That is what illegal aliens are, users without respect for rights, laws, or lives of our citizens. These people are NOT homeless. They leave their nation, families, & homes to make money so they can go back rich. (Exceptions to every rule).
---mikefl on 11/8/06

I live in Texas and illegals are becoming a drain on the economy. They sign up for welfare ,get free medical, and won't learn English so Texas must pour millions or more into teaching the children English in school. All that coupled with sending their wages back to Mexico makes them a definite drain on human resources. Texas has 49% Hispanics. I'm not prejudice, have Hispanic cousins, but do the math and Texas is headed downhill with every illegal alien that comes here. Stop illegal, only answer.
---Darlene_1 on 11/6/06

Jesus would hand them a box of nails and a hammer and say, "Here, start building a home for yourself in your country." OR like Abraham, they could carry a tent around with them and live in their country.
---Donna9759 on 11/6/06

Should we turn someone away who has nowhere else to go? People are sent back to their countries, knowing they will face death. Sometimes they are sent back by people who know they will face death. Sometimes those who have made the effort to leave their country - given the opportunity, can be of economic benefit to the country they move to ... given that some may not be. It is a hard question.

I live in a border state. We've run out of funds for special education and children's health insurance. We have more people without health insurance than any state in the union. School taxes where I live increased 30% this last year. Mexican government actively ENCOURAGES people to come here (so we will support them and they can send their earnings home to Mexico). Most aren't interested in citizenship. Lately some Hamas members from S.A.have crossed the boder. Can we let this continue?

Would Jesus turn anyone away????
---pkay (Vote) on 11/5/06

Jesus would expect people to obey the law. Yet I can't think he'd turn away someone who was sick. So maybe the answer is treat them - and then when they no longer require emergency services deport them back to their home country if they are illegal aliens.

I was born in the U.S.A. I agree, I have no problem with immigrants coming to the U.S.A., However I often feel that we are targeting the borders so much that we forget about immigrants from other countries that fly into this country get the same serives as those coming from the borders of CA/AZ and very little is heard of them and even less is done. We are all God's children seeing a better life.

I have no objection to immigrants coming into this country LEGALLY, but why should public/governmental services be given by law to those who deliberately break our laws to enter?
