I've wona few on the phone. It's not much different than talking to them in person. The words of God that we speak are anointed to accomplish what the word is suposed to do.
I know a guy that does exactly that as his ministry. He just phones people and talks to them about the Lord. He has won many.

God is omnipresent. He hear our prayers wherever we may be.The phone can be a great witnessing tool. Why not? Or have we as Christians forgotten this. My!my!

Yes I do, and I believe that we should use any means at our disposal to do so.

Why not? Snail mail, e-mail, books, tracts, phone, in person, are all viable ways to evangelize.

Car 2277, where are you?
Paging Donna2277, are you out there?
---Bob on 3/10/07

Donna2277 - Gee, it is good to see you are still here. I thought of you today and I was sad to think I might not see you here. Never give up because there is hope.

Helen ---I'll bet there are more than a "handful" of people saved as you were. But if the salvation is real, I believe God will send them the opportunity to be discipled by someone.
Personally, I never even answer my phone unless I recognize the name or number on my caller ID. Anyone can leave a message. I'd consider a "phone evangelist" about the same as a telemarketer.

Steveng - If a person prays the sinners' prayer over the phone, or anywhere else for that matter, and they are serious with God, then they are saved. It does not matter where, it matters what the person confesses and believes. I do agree with you that they need to link up with Christians from there on in for help with their daily walk with the Lord.
---Helen_5378 on 11/13/06

Jeanne - I agree with you.
---Helen_5378 on 11/13/06

Helen: I don't doubt the ability of God to do whatever he pleases, but He gave us a free will and it takes a decision from us to get saved or not.

I'm sure that you are the handfull of people in the universe that is saved like you were, but to most people it takes effert to continue along God's path and a lot of encouragement to continue. Just one phone call will not do it, it just plants the seed.

God can save a person anywhere at any time. He saved me in my loungeroom at the end of a preaching video! I was "by myself". Certainly God can save a person via the telephone, the computer, the television, the radio.

Winning someone over the phone is alright, the trick is how are you personally going to sustain that person in his faith?

Winning a person face to face is powerful. You can see how he is responding to what you are saying using body language, eye contact, intonation of voice, a simple smile, your enthusiasm, etc. You develop a real live relationship with that person. especially in the beginning when that person will have a hard time believing in something they cannot see.

Of course,God is every where so He is w/the one saying the prayer and the other leading the prayer. Some people can not be around anyone in "person" like those in isolation whether in prison or in a hospital what about them? God can reach anyone any place at any time He wishes.

I'll probably get blasted for this but PLEASE do not call me on my phone and start preaching to me! I would not like this. I dont really like talking on the phone that much to my friends and family let alone strangers. God bless.
