mima, I do believe there is wisdom in what that man said. We are to know each other by our fruits and we are to love each other as Christ so loves us but ultimately it is God's determination if He has changed your heart. One man cannot see into another man's heart.
---Ryan on 3/30/08

John 3:16 says a person who believes in Jesus Christ will have eternal life. He had accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in his life.
---agnea on 5/13/07

Dima, I don't agree with your first part of the answer but do agree with your second. we are human beings with a human mentality. We concise many things with our brains. We think and have emotions and make judgements that are bad. The mind of men cannot see through the heart of another. Only the Lord can see the heart of person and know whether that person's commitment was genuine or not. We can assume all we want, and as you see many different minds think different God doesn't have many minds but one.

#2. And example would be if you put twenty Christians in a room and ask about one persons salvation, they would all be in disagreement with each other. A person that says, he can see the real heart of another and be correct, counts himself "a god." To judge, Eloy has taken that position. Same thing found in the New World Translation, of John 1:1 where it speaks that Jesus is "a god".
The last half of your answer, I agree with.
---mark on 5/13/07

#3. We should all make sure we are saved, and if we doubt, and we have that love for Christ in our hearts, we should repent and make a true commitment.
---mark on 5/13/07

Do we need to cut a tree in half to see whether it's bearing good fruit or not? No, we just need to look at the fruit hanging from it's branches. Jesus says we shall know them by their fruit. It's really that simple folks. To some, it's so simple it doesn't make sense anymore, or they explain it away.We all need to know that we're saved. If you're not sure, how different are you from unbelievers?.Most are scared to death of hell, but don't know if they will get to heaven. What a position to be in.
---Dima on 5/12/07

When you genuinely have the life of Christ, then you will genuinely know whom else also has this same life of Christ, or else whom has not.
---Eloy on 5/12/07

No one knows for sure but God. God looks upon the heart, the inner man. We as believers do not have that ability. We can only go by experience and what we observe. We can be discerning and observing of holy things but we cannot just tell someone they are not saved. Our relationship with Jesus is unique to each individual. God deals with each one of His children differently. We should have some things in common as believers. We should be able to feel a kindred spirit. I think.
---Robyn on 5/11/07

Listen here, "Even the elect can be fooled". I am telling you the Bible saids, It is hard to tell the righteous from the unrighteous". I am here to tell you, "There are some professionals hypocrites", lost as a four dollar bill. What are you going to do? Sometimes God will let me know>>>Otherwise, I must be careful. VERY.>>>The Fruit scripture is good but there are other scriptures to look at.

.mark, every real born-again Christian knows whether or not another soul is saved because Christ lives in us and he has given us his discernment. He said you will know them by their fruits, that is by what they say and do will witness to the reality of whether they are saved. A good tree cannot bring forward bad fruit, neither a corrupt tree bring forward good fruit. Matthew 7:18-20.
---Eloy on 5/11/07

mark, people lose faith all the time, it's called, doubt and unbelief. And many were never committed to their belief from their inception, and only believe when it is convenient to their selfishness. Recall the Seed-sower, and the few whom actually stay saved. Also people leave God all the time, it's called, leaving God, forgetting God, backsliding, falling from grace, and apostasy.
---Eloy on 5/11/07

So what you are saying is that you can have faith in Christ, then not have faith, then have faith again. Since faith in Christ is what we are to have. How can you lose the faith God gave you? You can lose hope, but never faith. Faith gives hope. Once you know who Christ is, and what He did for you on the cross, and you believe it by faith, how can you ever lose it? Also how can you see another persons heart if he is save or not? Only Christ can see the heart.
---mark on 5/11/07

#2. Eloy, here is a passage to think about, 1 John 5:19: "We know we are of God, and the whole world is in the power of the evil one" If we know we are of God, how can we not know we are of God? How is it possible to know something and not know it later? Is it erased from our mind? Is it taken away some how by God so that we don't know that anymore, because we suddenly sinned? And what sin would that be? Just think what you are saying. It is just not possible.
---mark on 5/11/07

.mark, you are confused. OSAS is not the samething as KNOWING YOU ARE SAVED, being saved and osas are not the samething. At any one point in time a person is either found to be saved or else unsaved: the unsaved can become saved, and the saved can become unsaved, that is called freewill or whom do you choose to serve: whether sin onto death, or obedience onto righteousness.
---Eloy on 5/10/07

New Observer: Some people whom act like this, may be saved. But they are what I call, babyfied Christians. Their like little Johnny whom gets mad and takes his marbles and goes home. I overlook these people, because they have alot to learn about Christ. And think that just because they have read the bible from kiver to kiver, they know it all and understand it all. People like this needs to grow up. Paul said when I was a child, I spake as a child, but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
---Rebecca_D on 5/10/07

Well now I have heard it all. >>>new observer, Please remember, When Jesus comes aknocking say yes. He will change you little by little. Don't let anyone influence you please.

Do you believe a person is saved if they go around and start arguments and lies and accuse Christians of being pop- evangelists and "Bet you can't" statements like a little baby? Is that the mark of a saved person? What is the difference between the world and here? And people want ME to become a Christian.
---new_observer on 5/10/07

Eloy, you preached that there is no OSAS and spoke a whole lot on the subject, now you say, "All the save know they are Save" First you are against the very idea and later you contradict what you say. Your answer that we can know if someone is save, is a lie. You and anyone else cannot tell if someone is save or not. Lorra is correct. You can assume all you want but it is only your assumption, and your believe that you can see through the heart of men.
---mark on 5/10/07

lorra, out of the mouth the heart speaks, therefore we know whether a soul is saved or not by whether their fruits which they bear are from Christ or not.
---Eloy on 5/9/07

Absolutely correct. For you must be born-again. Corruption and sin are woven into our nature; When we consider the Holiness of the God with whom we have to do, we shall not think it strange that so much stress is laid upon this as the one thing that is needful, that we must be born again. [God does not care about our opinions, go to the word of God].

Pleaase read Acts 16:31 also John 3:16
Believe in Jesus Christ and you and your household will be saved.

Jesus Christ died on the cross to redeemed mankind from their sins. Those who believe in Him will have eternal life.
---agnea on 5/9/07

Who but Christ could possibly tell if someone else is saved or not? Only He knows what is in a persons heart. We can only guess if someone might be saved or not by what we know of that person, but Jesus is the final judge. At best, we can only speak for ourselves.
---lorra8574 on 5/8/07

All the saved KNOW they are saved. "Come, hear, all you all that respect God, and I will declare what he has done for my soul. Truly God has heard; he has attended to the voice of my prayer. All whom redeemed by YHWH will say, everyone whom he redeemed from the hand of the enemy. Quench not the Spirit. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives up to the death." Psalm 66:16,19; 107:2; I Thessalonians 5:19; Revelation 12:11.
---Eloy on 5/8/07

No one knows if they lived a life worthy of entering God's kingdom until after the judgment, when your lives will be on display for all to see. if God himself appears to you and says your calling of election is made sure like he did with Abraham, Moses, Noah etc. then you can relax. Many profess to be saved, but it is nothing but words. Jesus said not everyone that cries unto him Lord Lord will enter into his kingdom. You have to be doers of the word 24-7 and not hearers only.

For as you were once disobedient to God, yet have now obtained mercy through your disobedience, even so these also have now been disobedient, that through the mercy shown you, they also may obtain mercy. For God has commited them all to disobedience, that He might have mercy on all." "Oh the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out!"

"For who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has become His counselor?""Or who has first given to Him and it shall be repaid to him?" Believe in what Christ has done for you, not what you have done for Him. For all things are because of Him. Glory be to God forever and ever.
"For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever. Amen"

Matthew 7
17Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. 18A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. 19Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
20Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

1 Corinth 5
11But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolator, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.

12For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within?

13But them that are without, God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.
---Matthew on 4/30/07

There is no way that we can know whether another person is saved or not. Human beings make mistakes all the time. Sometimes Christians make bigger mistakes then the lost. I see the conduct of many here and it makes me wonder if most of them are saved or not, but that is only my opinion on what I know from reading what they write, but I don't have the power to know for sure, only God has that power.
---frank on 4/30/07

B. No one should ever judge another person's salvation with another brother, because in so doing we are acting as gods ourselves. We can think it, with our mind, but gossiping with our mouths is wrong. Some speak boltly because they are not in the position of others, and speak wrong about someone else, and yet they don't know how God is dealing with that persons life. Only God knows who is saved, and who is not, everything else is just Christians gossip.

Mima, Just tell him:(Matthew 7:16-21).God's people must be able to help other's in regard to the "reality" of God's Word(1 John chapter 3),or else we are unsalted. Many minister's don't properly discern God's Truth, so they tell people that they are saved when they are not, and vice versa. A true man/woman of God will use God's Uncompromising Word(with the direction of the Holy Ghost),to discern Truth from Lie.It's not God's will for people to be "in the dark". God Bless!
---Mrs._Morgan on 4/27/07

A person should know whom is a child of God and whom isn't. But it isn't for us to say to their face that they aren't. For we don't know their heart. But if their fruit isn't bearing any good fruit and therefore it is rotten, they are none of God's.
---Rebecca_D on 11/20/06

Mima, many conversation has started, because I will not tolerate cussing for instance, and I will tell them straight why not, and many listen. BE BOLD
---Kent on 11/19/06

I believe it is rude for one believer to challenge another believer on the facts of their salvation. If a person is concerned about their spiritual condition, AND they ask a believer to help them discern if they are saved, then it is acceptable, but only if asked. Too many believers run around telling baby Christians they are not saved because of X, Y or Z reason.

True only God knows the heart but we do have signs- fruit. So say for instance U and I had worked w/Paul or Peter I think we would defiantly say its been an honor and U are saved proved thru their own blood as well as daily actions. My Dad is saved I know this like I know the sun will yet rise. I have seen Christ in him every day that is saying something when U "actually" live w/a person. He has seen 70 yrs and walks hand in hand w/God still daily. They are great friends.
---Jeanne on 11/19/06

Kent if your reasoning that your actions and lifestyle leads people to salvation the question becomes, how many people have asked you ,because of your lifestyle, to tell them about Christ?
---mima on 11/19/06

While no one can no what is in another persons heart, it is your actions and the way you live that makes the non-believer ask you why you do what you do. then pass along your testimony, throw out the life line and the Holy Spirit will take over from there.
Peace be with you
---Kent on 11/19/06

Read 1 John 5:7-13. WE can KNOW that we are saved. However, to tell another is to judge them. We can witness that they are saved, but God's witness is greater.

One who has accepted God's pardon IS saved. The problem lies in whether a person has actually accepted it or just mouthed the words offered by others to say. I sincerely believe God's word states that when a person truely accepts the pardon granted through Jesus Christ, it is done. IF it can be undone then God is not true to His word and we are all lost. Praise Jehovah He can not nor would not lie.
