Does it really matter if it is found or not? Are we not supposed to focus on God, instead of on the objects mentioned in the Bible?

Personally, if it hasn't yet been found, I hope that it never is, so as to prevent people from worshipping it.

You've just made that 'fellah' Moses, whom G_d commissioned through the burning bush both liars, NOT GOOD!

That same fellah Moses also wrote about the world's creation & everything leading up to & after 'Noah's flood' up to Deuteronomy. CHANGING ONE DOT OR TITLE MAY BE JUST AS DANGEROUS AS BLASPHEMY OF G0D'S HOLY SPIRIT!

"God forbid: [Romans 3:4,]". Proverbs 26:4-5, Jn.15:22.
Gotta Go!

Jack, I just reread your response again. I do apoligize for my recent responces where I thought you were saying The bible was wrong in relation to sodom & gomorrah's location. Yes I would be happily surprized when the physical evidence does appear, as I was about the findings of the stables for Solomons horses, Mannasah's return, the drainage conduit for the blood sacrifices by Priest's on the Temple Mount among other things.

Again, I apologize for all to see & read! God Bless.

** That would be a modern & promised 'wonder', in/on earth. As would the visible ruins of Sodom & Gomorrah on the bottom of the Dead Sea with it's healing 'minerals'.**

Bob, it's only been PRESUMED that these are the cities of the plain.

If we believe the Bible is historically true, should it surprise us that there are physical traces still existing from its events?
---Jack on 12/20/06

That would be a modern & promised 'wonder', in/on earth. As would the visible ruins of Sodom & Gomorrah on the bottom of the Dead Sea with it's healing 'minerals'. Expert's have been on location for some time.

The impact on the secular world is open to speculation. What media's spent time on Mannasah's 'homecoming'?

"Though one rose from the dead, [some still don't] believe". But they believe we 'aggitated' terrorist's into attacking us [duh]. More people coming dodo birds!

yet scripture never says that the ark remained, infact it supports my theories more then anyone elses. Because there is pretty much nothing said about it after Noah and the boys get out. (with their wives). Don't you think they would have made mention of some Holy day pilgramage to the Ark?

Wasn't the late Ron Wyatt proven to be a fraud. He seemed to have the knack of finding everything that was missing. Egyptian carriage wheels in the Red Sea, Lot's wife, (now a pillar of salt), Noah's Ark and Even the Ark of the Covenant, the mercy seat (underneath where Jesus' cross stood), drops of Jesus' blood with unique set of chromozomes? Funny how all this never made international news headlines!!

As thd probable location of the Ark is on Russian/Turkish border, neither government is allowing acces to the area. Lookup Ron Wyatt to read his account of finding Ark.

They say the Holocost never happenned either, what's your point?

They also say the Jewish Temple was'nt where escavations prove otherwise. On it goes. If one uses your scientific logic, anything scriptural would need secular approval.

Science [evolution] is still a theory taught as fact. Accurate biblical creation taught next to it would prove it the farce it is.

Leaders of Jesus' day also used your logic with their "show me version" mentalities, AND(?).

There are pictures of a man's face on Mars too. and our nation has spent billions sending probes to check it out and they haven't found much. Noah's Ark will not be found, it is one of those mysteries people get caught up in, like the holy Grail. It is lost or recylcled.
---Jared on 12/12/06

Some photos were supposedly found by some Russians, then during the fighting they were lost but the tale was told. One theory is that it fell in a cravass & is covered with ice. I would like it to be found so have followed a lot of stories about it. In a poem once the poet said even if someone (Jesus)died and came back to life there are those who still will not believe. Perhaps the same would be true if they did find the ark with all the biblical measurements.

Bob then why haven't they found anything where the satalite pictures say. and don't tell me Turkey is keeping us out. If our scienctists would tell them about it then they'd probably go and since they haven't then I am guessing it's not a big deal?
---Jared on 11/29/06

Lots of different ways to build a dwelling place. Strange how no one has ever been able to dispute the findings, pictures, maps, sightings, etc in T. LaHaye & J. Morriss's(?) book, "The Ark On Ararat". Simply call NASA who provided the 'Gopher Wood' evidence a 'world' away from where it should have been while doing topical mapping. Would'nt you know it's right where that fellah Moses said it was!

Grace - that's a new take on the Noah's Ark story - and I like it. Somehow one never thinks that they may have chopped it up ... intriguing!

Jared - Personally I think Noah used the ark to build his house and a house for his sons and their families. (you know trees weren't big after the flood.) So we will never find it, so we should stop looking for it and spend all that money on something more worthwhile.

Very cool answer Jared! and probably correct.
---grace3869 on 11/21/06

There are significantly considerable claims of the ark already been discovered numerous times.
---Okebaram on 11/21/06

Maybe as outsiders we need to ask the insiders why they do things and not judge them. I think by doing this you would find that the Eastern Orthodox church is beautiful and christian. THey are the perservers of history and the foundation of trinitarian understanding. I love the Eastern church. Even though I'm an outsider. (about as far outside as one can get since I'm a quaker and we have no symbols in our church)
---Jared on 11/21/06

As a Christian, we must all do everything we can to prevent someone else from falling. This means that we must each be above reproach. To an outsider, it appears that the Ethopian Orthodox church worships the Ark of the Covenant. Whether this is true or not is immaterial - it is appearances that are deceiving.

** Jack - there ARE already people who worship the Ark instead of God.**

How many? Give a number that can be verified.

Are you saying that God has granted you the ability to see into the hearts of the people of Ethiopia and you KNOW what they are doing?

Do you know the names of any of them--or are you just ASSUMING they worship the Ark of the Covenant instead of God.
---Jack on 11/21/06

Part 2:

**They treat these objects as extremely holy, and NO-ONE but a few select priests can go near it. Ok, close enough to the OT restrictions - but you cannot say they are not worshipping an object.**

Actually, it's just one priest: the guardian of the Church of St. Mary of Zion in Axum.

BTW--how many Ethiopian Orthodox do you know?

I know quite a few, and I can say on this basis that you are VERY wrong.
---Jack on 11/21/06

Jack - there ARE already people who worship the Ark instead of God. The churches in Ethopia believe that they HAVE the Ark, and several replicas of it. They treat these objects as extremely holy, and NO-ONE but a few select priests can go near it. Ok, close enough to the OT restrictions - but you cannot say they are not worshipping an object.

We are supposed to worship God (the Spirit) in spirit and in truth. Not an object.
---laure5759 on 11/21/06

Jack - In previous comment - talking about Ark of the Covenant.

I disagree that the Noah's Ark has been found. Sightings, yes, but NO serious research agency has yet confirmed that the Ark of the flood exists anywhere.

I thought they found it like 5 times already... I don't really think they will find the ark because then it would become a shrine to worship. Personally I think Noah used the ark to build his house and a house for his sons and their families. (you know trees weren't big after the flood.) So we will never find it, so we should stop looking for it and spend all that money on something more worthwhile.
---Jared on 11/20/06

The finding of Noah's Ark has been a matter of speculation for some years now. It will probably be a matter of speculation for some years in future opinions. Me - I have my own opinion - they probable cut it up and used it as fire wood. (After all, everything was wet and waterlogged.)
---WIVV on 11/20/06

What IF.. Okay say it was found. How many other events have been proven from scripture that naysayers have disproven with their stories. FLASH;;;Huge boat found 4723yrs old carbon dating. While it matches the socalled ARK of the Bible, it could have been washed from some foreign shore. Nothing but a fishing vessel gone astray... WHO knows what it would prove. I agree with others here. We would believe if it matched but we already believe. Faith is deeper than the mountain top experience.

There is at least one IKONOS 1 meter resolution photo on the Internet. Analysis of IKONOS multiple photos over extended time period are inconclusive as to what it is other than indication that what ever it is has shifted in location some what and in several chunks. The resolution on Google Earth is not good enough to tell you much. And the fractional meter imagery from the National Reconnaissance Office is not going to be released any time soon.

** Does it really matter if it is found or not? Are we not supposed to focus on God, instead of on the objects mentioned in the Bible?**

If our faith includes the historicity of events described in the Bible, should it surprise us if there remain physical objects from these events?

And tell me all the people you actually know who would worship the Ark i/o God.
---Jack on 11/20/06

No, I don't.

The existence of Noah's Ark in the Ararat Mountain range has been known for centuries.

People who believe the Bible are going to believe it, and those who refuse to will not, "even though someone were to come back from the dead."
---Jack on 11/20/06

If a so-called Noah's Ark is found it will lead people astray from the truth of God's Word. I don't care about the Ark. Tell me about Jesus.
