Romans 5:12-19 Wherefore,as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin, and so death passed upon all men,for that all have sinned:(For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law.Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.

But not as the offence,so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God,and the gift by grace, which is by one man,Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many. And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift:for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification. For if by one man's offence death reigned by one, much more they which receive abundance of grace

and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one,Jesus Christ.)Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation, even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life. For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners,so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous."

We are all born in sin,not becasue what we do or do not do,but because of the fall of Adam mankind is a sinner.

Adam & Eve sinned, then repented and were forgiven, with no continuing effects on their children. Period. Then God Almighty makes Adam his first prophet.

You don't pass your sin to others. And you, yourselve do not want to carry somebody's sin. You also, don't blamed others for your wrong doing. Your heart is clean when you forgive and forget.

Remember the Protoevangelion of Genesis 3?

If Adam and Eve were among the "spirits in prison" to whom Christ preached at His descent into Sheol, I'm sure they recognized their great-great-great-great-...great-grandson!

bruce
simple If God had not forgiven Adam and Eve then the race known as man would not exist.GOD would have destroyed them out right. he did not but forgave them and gave them a promise the that A savior would be born of the "seed of the Woman".

I totally agree with Helen's answer.

I believe that Adam and Eve were forgiven by God. God forgave them when He clothed them with the animal skins, a foreshadow of the Cross and Jesus' sacrifice of Himself there for sin.

1Tim.2:13-15,"For Adam was first formed, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression. Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith & charity & holiness with sobriety." Note the "saved in childbearing" is the birth of Jesus Christ (see Is.7:14 & 9:6). And read 1Cor.15:21-23.

It's very true, Adam's sin brought sin & death to all of mankind.

I think the question asks whether or not A&E repented of their sin & were individually forgiven . Their personal forgiveness certainly wouldn't automatically wipe out their children's (mankind: past, present & future) sin & need for individual repentance for forgiveness (salvation). Actually, the Bible teaches it didn't.
I believe scripture hints at A&E's forgiveness.

If I missed something, please tell me.

God's desire to forgive is directly linked to his benevolent nature. God will not be robbed of his intent for mankind, even though now he dwells in the absence of it's fruition, and that for our sake; adding to his glory.

But let's not here cease to question either - if Adam's sin is forgiven, then it's not a sin to be born in sin, (merely cause and effect or else God committed sin by allowing your birth - IMPOSSIBLE) but rather sins of commission that are punishable and invariably inevitable.

i don't think it says anything about them repenting or being forgiven
---tony on 11/23/06

To answer this question you must seek the mind and ministry of God. Someone said we can't know for sure but we can.
It is easy to see what God did and determine from there whether Adam and Eve were saved.
1. God sacrificed and made them a covering with skins.
2. They both accepted what God had done Gen. 3:21. Read chapter 3.
Because they accepted God's work and did away with their own they were saved.

Even before A&E were banished from the garden, God had a plan for them & their children to receive His forgiveness. I believe (based on Bible reflection glimpses of their character), they did repent & were forgiven. Where did Abel get his faith in God? (Hebrews 11:4) I think he had two "faithful models", i.e. A&E.

BTW, Mod is there any way you can cross reference/link similar blogs?

Willow,
"If Adam and Eve were not forgiven, then we would not be here."

What is the basis of that statment?
---Bruce5656 on 11/22/06

I think there is ample evidence that God showed grace to Adam and Eve. He looked for them and he gave them the skins to wear. There is a sign of repentance when we see the discussion, true they didn't say forgive me. but they did stop blaming. and the accepted the results of their actions. I dont' think we have to worry about not seeing adam and eve in heaven.

Mima, It's interesting That the Scriptures don't say if they did or didn't, So we can't say for sure. You will just have to see when you get to Heaven(smile). God Bless!
---Mrs._Morgan on 11/22/06

(II.) Mima, BTW, We know about that "one time special incident" in regard to "Noah's generation", but Adam and Eve were not a part of that generation. So once again, we can't say for sure! God Bless!
