Is Corinthians 4:4 Predestination

Does this scripture in second Corinthians 4:4" In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them." Agree or disagree with predestination?

Mima, it is God who permits Satan to blind the minds of those who are lost. Satan cannot do anything without the permission of God. If he could, he would blind even the true born again believers. "whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ who is the image of God, should shine on them." It is the minds of the unbelievers that are blinded. Unless the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ should shine on them.

#2. "For it is God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our heart to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ" All true believers have what they have by the power of God. "but we have this treasure in earthen vessels, "that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us. And in verse 13-14, "And since we have the same spirit of faith, (all believers) according to what is written, "I believed and therefore I spoke," we also believe and therefore speak, knowing that He who raised up the Lord Jesus will also raise us up with Jesus, and will present us with you." It is all the work of God. From first to last.

(III.)Mima, Many Christian's refuse God's Way and yet claim they are going to Heaven, But Jesus says:(John 10:1) God's LIGHT of Truth shines bright, When people DESIRE God's Truth, He will reveal Himself to them. God doesn't predestine people to Heaven or Hell, Jesus said whosoever will, meaning people choose their own destiny, Heaven or Hell(God's way or Destruction). There are some things that God predestines and some things He doesn't...

(IV.)Mima, ....For example those that abide in God's Saving Truth/Word are predestined to have victory and eternal life through Christ, and those that do not abide in God's Saving Truth/Word, are predestined to eternal death and defeat(That includes Christian's and Catholic's).The topic of what God predestines and what He doesn't would take more than 85 words! God Bless!

How can it support predestination, when it is the "god of this world" who blinds?
---AlanUK_quent5969 on 11/27/06

This just says that the devil has blinded many people from hearing the gospel. However, each person has a choice to make...they can either accept or reject Jesus Christ. God doesn't send anyone to hell...people's decisions not to accept Jesus send themselves to hell. God made a way they didn't have to go to hell through Jesus Christ's blood.

i dont believe that its a scripture that preaches predestination.. because there are other scriptures that give the remedy for blindness to the gospel.

(I.)Mima, (2 Corinthians 4:4)Is about people who are in the DARK in regards to God's Saving Truth, By all means, they don't All have to REMAIN in the dark! Man has Free-Choice in regard to receiving God's Truth. There are 2 different kinds of people who are in the dark: (#1.)The kind that is in the dark and when they hear the Truth, they desire the Truth (#2.)The kind that is in the dark, and when they hear the Truth, they don't desire the Truth.

(II.)Mima,Some people from(#2)eventually soften later to the Holy Spirit desiring God's Truth(But some don't, and other's only "ALMOST PERSUADED",which is NOT enough),Time is crucial! The Word says now is the day for salvation. God will never with-hold His Saving Truth, from someone who honestly desires God's Way(unlike what many false doctrines preach!)(Proverbs 16:9)But those that don't desire God's way,CAN'T BE SAVED as long as they don't desire It(they make that choice,to REFUSE God's way).

This verse puzzles me. God would have that ALL men be saved, we are told elsewhere in scripture, so why would He deliberately blind the eyes of some? I'll be interested in the answers that you get to this one Mima.
