Inadequate Praising God

Do you feel inadequate when praising the Lord? In offering up to him your thanks and appreciation for what He has done for you? Do you feel hopelessly inadequate? I must confess that I do feel this.

Sometimes I do. I will not let that stop me. Watch out for Satan!

Yes. Sometimes it is so bad, that it seems like I am hearing someone else's voice saying/singing the words. This only happens at the very beginning of praise. It is an aweful feeling. However, God does honor the effort and bears witness to my spirit which allows me to enter into a deeper state of worship. Often times I must be silent for a brief moment before this happens. It happens whether I am in a group or alone!!

Jesus knew those who love Him would feel this way (and just think how deaf-mutes who can't verbalize it must feel). We could thank and praise Him from dusk till dawn and it would never be enough. This is why He gave us the Eucharist (which means thanks); the perfect, most fulfilling way of giving thanks.

All of the Sacraments He has given us are perfectly fulfilling.

We should feel hopelessly inadequate because that is what we are. God is so big, and so pure and holy. We can never meet up to His standard. Good news! - When God looks at His Son Jesus He sees us in Christ!

The Bible says make a joyful noise so mima it doesnt matter how U sound, or do- what matters is you are reaching out to God thru praise. When my kids were little and they sang or did anything it thrilled me-it didnt matter if it was the best or even good- what mattered is they "were mine" and U are Gods.

mi ma, that's why it's called the "Sacrifice" of Praise. Because sometimes it's a sacrifice to Praise the Lord. We walk by faith, not by feelings. When I feel this way, I usually fast according to Isaiah 58. Try singing your most favorite song to the Lord, sing it over and over and over again until you know that you know you've touched God's heart. There's JOY in the presence of the Lord, amen?

No. Because of 2Corinthians 5:21 & Hebrews 4:16.

Don't let your feelings stop you from trying, mima.

No,never, when I praise the Lord my spirit soars beyond this earthly realm into the presence of the Lord, for the Word of God tells us God inhabits the praise of His people, and nothing is inadequate when God is in it. I feel joy beyond measure when I praise, there is no room for any negative feelings. Remember, God made mankind for fellowship with Him and that is a big part of what praise is. Glory to God !!!
