Are We One Body In Christ

This week's Sunday school lesson scripture:
There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free person, there is not male and female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. Gal 3:28. How can we teach children we are one body in Christ when we can't behave that way ourselves?

Gal 3:28, written by the apostle Paul, is a new revalation given to him, for the, salvation of Jew and gentile alike making them both one body, that Paul calls the body of Christ. With a salvation method revealed to him(1 Cor 15:1-4)never revealed before.

Who says we're not behaving that way ourselves?

grace, paul speaks of milk and children, we are all sanctified gradually.and to expect that all would live as christ did is ignoring our sin nature.we teach , and give the word, and expect the holy spirit to change people.our lives are eamples ,the good and the bad dear.

Melinda::Being a simple man,Big words sometimes confuse me.However I do accept the meaning of what you say & in light of that Iwill confess "To err is human & forgive divine"Blessings. :-)Its hard to be a yokel like me.

Emcee: forgive my use of the word "concept". It has clearly confused you as to what I was trying to say. Simply put, we don't stop teaching Godly principles just because we as human's don't always live up to them.

Melinda::The Teacher teaches & we the students listen & incorporate all the Teachers, teachings not our concepts .Be Perfect as your Heavenly Father is Perfect is the theme."we must strive to fulfill the advice given.
---Emcee on 12/6/06

Grace: You teach this concept the same way you teach any Godly concept. How do you teach the concept of "forgivness" if you are unwilling to forgive, the concept of "grace" if you are not willing to extend it to those who need it, the concept of "giving" when your inner man is so selfish, the concept of "loving one another" if you harbor bitterness in your heart, etc? We fall short on every account because we are HUMAN. I say - Teach on anyway!!

*Grace, if you accept RCC's teaching that everyone believing in salvation taught in Ephesians 2:8-10 is heretical (Council of Trent; re-affirmed by 'VaticanII'), there's not much you can say!*

Correction: Your *misinterpretation* of Eph. 2:8-10 is what they call heretical if you're attempting to show it teaches "faith alone" (and the Cath Church isn't the only one which renounces sola fide in case you're unaware).

You worded your post in a very underhanded manner.

Daniel :Grace, if you accept RCC's teaching that everyone believing in salvation taught in Ephesians 2:8-10 is heretical (Council of Trent; re-affirmed by 'VaticanII'), there's not much you can say!

I don't understand what you mean by this. Please explain

These blogs sometimes show disunity - but I didn't specifically mean this place - I meant all adult Christians.

Who has ever heard of a mother who's newborn wasn't "just beautiful"? We are God's newborns. Our petty squabbles are vapors of time. Our children learn from each of our actions. Forgiveness is the key to not seeing faults of the flesh. Help them to see it is the Spirit we strive to purify. The flesh will die or be changed.

Do you suggest that because we do not agree with people who teach false doctrine that we are not in line with scripture? Are we to accept any kind of nonsense just because a man/woman says they are from God? Even the Lord says that there will be many who he does not know who say they know HIM!

Grace, if you accept RCC's teaching that everyone believing in salvation taught in Ephesians 2:8-10 is heretical (Council of Trent; re-affirmed by 'VaticanII'), there's not much you can say! However, if you reject such teachings, you'll understand 'Body of Christ' is made up of all true Believers, no matter which local congregation they worship God in; much different than any single man-made organization on this earth! PS: Galatians is a wonderful book for anyone dealing with 'salvation by works' to read.
