One Time Infilling Only

Do we only need one infilling of the Holy Spirit and that's it or do we need to feed and rejuvenate our Spirit by feeding ourselves with spiritual things such as the Word?

We are warned in the New Testament not to put out God's fire within us.

Anyone knows that if you want to keep a fire going you have to fan the flames.

In my experience praying for the Holy Spirit every day keeps us at the least in the awareness that God is with us, and less likely to stray and fall back into sinful habits or ways of thinking.

We need to continually invite God into our lives, because he won't trespass.

I need all of God on a daily basis. That includes letting God fill me with His Spirit daily. The Bible even says that this is a daily process. Without this, you may just be an empty vessal waiting to be filled by Satan.

Jack....obviously you didn't grasp what i said.Did you find and learn about Christ without the bible?

** Amen Jack...Christ is our living well, who we go to when we thirst.Go deep and drink frequently in the word of our Lord.**

Christ Himself is the well, not the Bible.

How often do you eat? I eat daily. The spirit fills us daily yet sometimes we put up dams that keep the waters of the spirit out.

(I.)Donna9759, I have learned that it is important to STAY FILLED with the Holy Spirit(If one has been baptized by Him),By Abiding in God's Truth(JESUS). Christian's can lose anointings and gain anointings through out their life time, but it doesn't have to be that way, We must STAY ON FIRE for God,put NOTHING before Him.

(II.)Donna9759, God expects His people to stay on FIRE for Him, forever walk in His Spirit, giving Him all the praise honor and glory. Lukewarmness and human reasoning/faulty reasoning/excuses for not obeying God, Is so prevalent in the Church, and WORKS AGAINST the Holy Spirit(quenches Him)/God's holy anointings. If the Holy Spirit is forever getting quenched, ignored and grieved, He will eventually lift from that person. God Bless!

I like the way Pharisee put it; "We need to continually invite God into our lives, because he won't trespass." It is so so true. The baptism in the Spirit is a one-time thing, but filling with the Holy Spirit should be a daily thing by doing what Jude 20 says.

The bible illustrates Christians as a spiritual being that begins as a child and matures requiring heartier sustenance. When the Holy Spirit is within you and upon you He matures you, He produces fruit in your life, He comforts you and shows you God's will. It isn't so much 'rejuvination' as it is 'spiritual nutrition' babies begin with milk and are soon weened to more solid food & as they continue to grow their nutritional requirements become more sophiticated and in greater quantities.

Jesus said that the Holy Spirit would be as "living water flowing from" a person. That requires more than a one-time "infilling" but a constant flow and source of pressure--and constant connection with the Source.
