The Gift Of Healing

Regarding healing: Jesus said, "They shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover." Yet James says to call for the elders of the church. Can only someone who has the Gift of Healing be used to heal someone? Or can ordinary Christians without the Gift of Healing be used?

If a person is being used as a instrument by God to heal someone who is sick. Yes they have the gift of healing. Remember the scripture in Romans 11:29 states that the gifts are irrovocable

It is ordinarilly that who has the Gift Of Healing be called upon to heal someone and the ones without to Pray while it takes place.

If you belong to God, you are anointed. Doesn't matter whether you are a Preacher, Deacon, or an Elder. God can use you in mighty ways, it's all up to Him.

If you believe in God and pray, I believe one can be healed.
---Keith_Nemec on 10/21/10

If you've truly received Jesus then you've received healing
Jesus healed He is the same so a christian without healing cannot be
It could be that they have not evercised their faith or that their not really a christian at all if they haven't experienced healing of some sort

Do we have to pick, pick and pick on everyone. I like the Moderator. So since I like him you had better be nice to him.

Moderater is correct.

The gift of healing does not belong to any human on the face of the earth.

The gift of healing belongs to The Holy Spirit. God will use any vessel who is willing to be used by God, with humility.
God uses the humble, those who do not try and take the credit for healing the sick or take away from any gift that belongs to
The Holy Spirit.

Moderator, you crack me up. Your one word answer reminds me of the preacher who stands behind a pulpit and says, "Have Faith" butdoesn't tell us HOW to have faith. How is an ordinary Christian without the Gift of Healing be used to heal the sick? Pls explain in detail. Thank you.

A healing is the removal of sickness and disease in parts of the body.
A miracle from God is creative.
A miracle is an eyeball formed in an empty socket, organs replaced - miracles are instant.
Healings can be instant or be gradual.
Some people need a miracle. If you are brain damaged from an accident, you're not sick - you need a miracle. If your nerves are severed, you are not sick - you need a miracle.

The gift of healing and the gift of faith are being restored in the church. In the days of the apostles, people were healed when the shadows of the apostles passed over them. Those days will come back to the church. The days of God's intervention over sickness and disease. If you get a poisonous bite, you better know how to believe God for a healing. Otherwise, you could go home in a few minutes if you're far away from medicine. If it weren't for doctors, most Christians would be dead.
---Gabrielle on 4/1/07

Without medical insurance, two weeks in the hospital might set you back $50,000. Many people don't go to the doctor until they're at death's door because they cannot afford it.
In the last days, we better know how to pray for God's intervention. It may not always be possible to jump in the car and go to the doctor.
The gift of healing delivers the sick and destroys the work of the devil.
---Gabrielle on 4/1/07

Most Christians expect nothing. In the last days diseases will be healed. Doubt and unbelief stops the miracles and God's healing power.
Jesus of Nazareth went about doing good, healing all that were oppressed of the devil, for God was with Him.

THe problem is, mary, people dont always obey the holy spirit in this area...i can remember one specific time when i didnt, its a bummer
---mark on 3/31/07

I agree with the moderator..If someone needs healing I belive God will put on someone's heart to lay hands on and pray for this person..God uses anyone He feels like using even if they don't have the gift..mary4964

Of course it seems like a joke, but look at the fruit, thats how i first thought i laughed when the people fell on the ground and shook, but you cant deny the fruit that God has given him

"How is an ordinary Christian without the Gift of Healing be used to heal the sick? Pls explain in detail. Thank you."--Donna9759

I don't have the gift of healing but God used ordinary me to heal my brother and even a couple of animals.
---Kay on 12/15/06

A christian who doesn't have a healing ministry like Benny Hinn or Kenneth Hagin must use their faith to lay hands on the sick. Laying on of hand is transferring of power as well as calling those things that be not as though they were. The authority of every believer is in his or her own mouth. We have the authority to call those things that be not as though they were. For instance, if a person is missing a limb we have the authority to call a new limb into being w/o the use of a "doctor".
---Rickey on 12/12/06

Remember when Jesus talked to the Centurion. He told Jesus to speak the word only. When Jesus did the dude was healed instantly. The "THEY" Jesus was talking about in Mark 16,is referring to those who believe. I say "those" because some won't believe. In James 5, James was talking to the church. He wasn't referring to us ministering to others.
---Rickey on 12/12/06

A person needs to have healing established in their heart as well. If a persons heart and mouth don't line up their faith won't work. It's like being double-minded, unsure. A double-minded person isn't confident.

Any christian can. God is no respector of person. Jesus said that those signs would follow those who "believe". It's avaliable to every christian, but not everyone will do it. In James he wasn't referring to ministering to "the world" like Jesus was in Mark.
