The KJV says love of money is the root of all evil. Others say all kinds of evil. 2 different things. which one is right? |

It is the root of all evil. Also Unbelief is the root cause of sin. The love of Money causes temptation, lusts. Money doesn't do this. Riches are neither good or bad. It is the attitude toward them that is good or bad. Paul said in the word of God to Timothy, charge them that are rich to trust only in the living God and not in uncertain riches.>>>Put no confidence in the police, government, your money, your religion, your pastor or prophets, houses, cars, looks, education, friends. |

The root of many evils. Look at our world today, people are willing to do anything for a dollar. Ripping the elderly off with all kinds of scams, beating others as well as murdering people so they can claim insurance money, etc. Our hope as christians is our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He is our refuge and our strength. Praise God! |

Actually, 1 Timothy 6:10 reads "For the love of money is A root to all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs." (NIV) Therefore, while money is a root of evil, it is not the only root of evil, hence the seven deadly sins. Money can be used for good, through charitable works, but also, of course, for less Christian endeavors. |

It was inspired & written in what I believe to be the word of God. I have no doubt that The Father knows what He is saying. As I write this I am searching my mind for any evil not motivated by some sort of greed or covetousness, I can not think of one. One may think, well, what about hate? Hate, if sincerely considered, can always be traced back to either a jealously induced covetousness, or frustration due to a perceived lack of or opportunity to prosper financially. |

Money is not evil - it is the second most topic in the Bible, apart from love. God made it for the preaching of the Gospel. When you make money your god, and put it before the one true God, then it is evil. |

Money causes alot of evil in the world. The devil came to steal, kill and destroy and he is very clever at turning things around to his advantage. It is harder for a camel to go through the eye of the needle than for a rich man to enter into the Kingdom of Heaven.
(Some of the rich make their money by cheating the masses). People do ugly things with money but blessed are those who do what is right. |

john I agree with Bruce here. The love of money is the root of ALL evil. I wish I could hold onto it long enough to just like it...but I don't. I give it away too quickly and that too can be a problem (people tend to take advantage and start to ASK me for money instead of waiting for me to GIVE it to them). So both ways can be evil, amen? |

If you love money than you are loving something that is nothing. Nothing cannot love you back. If you give all your love to love(GOD), than you will be loved back. Not that you are not loved anyway, but you will not be aware of it if you love nothing. PEACE. |
