Do Doctors Or Jesus Heal

A Christian woman said, "it doesn't depend upon our faith whether or not we are healed, we must go to the doctors and do what they tell us." Yet Jesus said to many, "Your faith has made you well." So where in lies the truth about Healing?

Hello,thankyou,jerry6593,hope number correct.Yes, that what I try to say pardon my english, I am not say every hospital but, this one hospital in particular ( over worked nurses, esp.) They put the chemo in my. Arm NO prep./ No port. That could have kill me! If I had NOT call on JESUS truly believe I'd be dead.I thank God everyday! pray God help those nurses & doctors. Mar 5:25,26 And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years, And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse,

Medical mistakes (Doctor + Hospital + Drugs) are the second leading cause of death in the US - right behind abortions.

Doctors are great at diagnosis and at structural repair, but health and healing are the province of the individual and God. Other than catostrophic accidents, most health issues are products of our own lifestyle choices.

---jerry6593 on 12/15/12

Thank you sister Mary and Elena and others for your kind words. I know I am not the only one who has suffered, many here have too. We live to die. But it sure hurts. That is why the holidays is so hard for many, people lose their loves ones, others lose their jobs especially during this time of the fiscal year. Others lose their children as those in Connecticut, I cannot phatom what they are going through, instead of giving them gifts, they have to bury them. So many parents lost a child. So terrible that words cannot discribe. Everyone needs the Lord so bad. It hurt me alot to hear about the children. I always support the children who are taken and those raped and killed. My heart goes out to all the families.

I am so very sorry Mark V, there are no sufficient words. Bless you brother, hugs, Mary
---Mary on 12/14/12

Bro.MarkV. please know I am so sorry about your late wife.the truth these hospitals, anything can happen! I no longer trust them. They killed my grandmother too! Many years ago..she got killed somebody poke her arm.with a "dirtyneedle!'
She speak not like english, here.so we don't know...like you they didn't tell us she dead.untill 2 days later. My birth mother she sue the hospital for all she can get!
3 yrs.later she end.up there ER. & she found dead mysteriously! They later claim she had allergic reaction/ thing she was saved! praise God! But I have not one picture of her, but I look alot like her now.
---ELENA on 12/14/12

Sis. Elena, in the case of my former wife, they did kill her. I know it was not done purposely, but she went in for a test that would only take half an hour, and she never came out alive.
They ruptured her main artery in her heart, and didn't know what to do once they did, no heart specialist there to help. They had to call another doctor from another hospital to try and come to save her. He tried but failed. I found out six hours later that she had died. I guess we are all helpless when we go in for something. It was her time otherwise God would have made sure she made it. This accidents happens all the time, we just don't hear much about it. peace I leave you.
---Mark_V. on 12/14/12

Wow! Goodafternoon, far as I am concern the hospital almost kill me! It may not have been personal, possibly nurses on burn-out ...but I got to thank God & his son JESUS because I would have dead that is for sure! Even 3 nurses spoke to me in private...1 nurse was emotional as I was & said "God bless you!' you did the right thing! yes, I even told them at the clinic" don't get worried when you don't see me often".
I answer to a higher power! yes, I am doing fine..not completely cured yet, but doing fine.
They almost. Kill me, forget the prep - many other mishaps. I am not bitter just state the facts.thankyou God for save my life! They put me in cardiac arrest - heart attack!
God power is REAL!

Phil, it is not confusing at all, Salvation is for anyone who has faith in Jesus Christ and His works. No matter from where you are from. That salvation was presented to the Jews first, is not in question. If only they kept the covenant that was made with them, but they didn't. Only a few did, those of the elect. For God has always kept a remnant for Himself even today. There is only one body in Christ, not two or three. And salvation only comes through faith in Jesus Christ, no matter from what country you are from. One Way only. And Jesus is the Way.
---Mark_V. on 12/10/12

That there is healing for the body because of the Sacrifice of Christ, there is no dispute.

It is the where and the when of it that confuses.

Had the Jews received their Redeemer, and began to live their Pentecostal gifting, then healing would have been given to us through them.

It will remain that way always on earth. Salvation is of the Jews.

At times, during this grace period, God heals miraculously, as He always has throughout history.

Doctors, such a Luke was, are a necessary and merciful gift from God. He supplies them knowledge to alleviate the suffering of our dying til He returns.
---Phil on 12/9/12

There are people who have no faith at all who are healed of very serious illnesses. There are those who pray and pray and have prayer partners and churches full of people praying for them to be healed who die of their illness.

If we are Christians we rely on God for everyting - to provide the correct medical care, to heal us through what the doctor can do or not heal us, to heal us miraculously or not and allow us to die.

Jesus healed many instantly but nowhere, to my knowledge, did He tell people NOT to use doctors.
---Rita_H on 12/9/12

Last year I had a highly advanced, aggressive cancer and so used many doctors and nurses but my symptoms went way back to '08 and maybe God kept it from getting too aggressive till time to be finally diagnosed? Either way, He allowed me to live and I am beyond grateful, to Him and the medical profession. :)

A:the quoted woman has faith in the doctor and pharmaceutical medicines.

Nothing wrong with medical means to get well. It helped to fight against bug venum when my faith in God alone was not developed enough.

But I can take my daily medicine of God's word to develop my faith, then I save money to give into the gospel.

Medical science can't give me that option.

No one dies before his time. God has the time for each one who lives. He heals and He also permits many to die. He can heal through a doctor, bystander, are any person to be at the right place at the right time to be used by God to save someone. But no matter the means, it is God who does the healing and the saving and taking of lives. God can use anyone or He can just do the work Himself. It is all up to God, for God knows all things, from beginning to end.

God uses doctors to heal. God gives us the ability and opportunity to get an education. We are so blessed in this country and many don't appreciate it. We all have talents and we are to use them. If God didn't want medical doctors healing people He would not have given us the intelligence to develop this skill.

Whose report are we going to believe, Jesus or the doctor's? I'd been seeing doctors since I was 14, 6 years ago I believed God for my total healing, it didn't happen over night, but I kept trusting the Lord & he was ever faithful. Even when I didn't understand something I chose to praise & trust the Lord & kept my eyes on Jesus. He has already paid for our healing IN FULL. Accept it NOW.

Hi; this reminds me of when I used to be sick a lot when I was with my ex-husband and I would sometimes ask him to pray with me that the antibiotics would still work; they were good meds but I'd taken sooooo many and wanted God to bless them. Well, my ex was very cruel and either wouldn't pray or he would sarcastically pray! But GOD HEARD and that blessed me right there. :)

God does not need doctors you do, if you put you faith in what God has said he will heal you, Jesus said let it be according to you faith if you have to have a doctor then thats your faith.
There are some instances though that you need a doctor and that is true but your faith should be in God alone and not the Doctor never believe the report of a Doctor even a Good report believe only the report of the Lord and acccept nothing less. with his stripes we are healed.

Jesus is the Healer. Miracles happen. People can be joy killers and doubt fillers.

But Jesus uses vessels to perform His work on earth. He uses physicians to restore children, adults with deformities. When a child's heart and intestines are born outside of its' body, skilled surgeons restore the little people. When an adult has a bullet in the head, skilled surgeons remove it. Burn centers repair skin, and so forth. God has vessels that He uses.

Jesus never refused healing to anyone. He never told anyone that it wasn't God's will to heal. Jesus never said, MY faith has made you whole. He always said, YOUR faith has made you whole. He is looking for the kind of faith that won't take NO for an answer; that grabs hold of the horns of the alter & won't relent until we see vengeance upon our enemy. Our job is to keep working on the part that doesn't believe until we DO believe! Ways of doing so: worship, meditation & confession of the Word!

Even Jesus said it is according to your faith. He also said where two agree it will be. If you can find someone to agree with you it will be done. After 3 days into a sickness I realized it was pnuemonia. I called a friend to agree in prayer at 10am and by 3pm it was only a tickle. No doctor can do that but Jesus. HE is the GREAT physician. "All things are possible, only believe." We sing the song but we don't really believe. Lord, help our unbelief.
---faye4464 on 12/18/06

By the way, Jesus taught Luke to heal in the name of Jesus. Seventy returned to him and said they were amazed that every demon obeyed them in the name of Jesus. We've lost our faith in Jesus and put our faith in man. Faith is a decision. It isn't automatic. It comes through prayer and fasting and regular teaching on faith.

Jesus heals, but sometimes He do it through others. Jesus had Luke, a doctor, one of His disciples who traveled with Him. lots of time when Jesus performed a healing, He uses items to help Him. I agree, that God should be the first One, we call on. Then we should dial 911 in case of emergency. Heart attacks, strokes, broken bones, 3rd degree burns, gunshot wounds, broken necks, etc. Would you use your faith alone to help a child who pulls a pan off the stove and burns himself?

faye4464,
God told Adam and Eve to tend the garden. We see no indication that He told them how or where to start. They were expected to get up and get to work. If they had a question about something I am sure God would welcome it.

If I expect to have an income I must get up and go to work. I cannot expect God to just provide when I will not work.
---Bruce5656 on 12/15/06

PART ONE:
For the Christian, the underlying reality is that even the strength to work comes from God. We are to rely on him completely - every day - but we still need to do our part.

Being responsible does not preclude trusting God but there comes a time that we just cannot do any more or and all we can do is trust God for the rest.
---Bruce5656 on 12/15/06

PART THREE:
If I am weak from lack of exercise should I expect God to just give me strength or should I get up and start exercising no matter how little I can and trust him for the strength to recover and improve.

God told Paul :
2 Corinthians 12:9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
---Bruce5656 on 12/15/06

Donna,
Why would you wait until you've done all you can in the natural before you call on God? That means you're relying on self first, then you will turn to God. Shouldn't God be the first person you call on?

Rickey,
As long as you are relying on medicine you are not relying on God.
---faye4464 on 12/15/06

There is a difference between faith & foolishness. In faith you'll take your medicine, but stand on the word for complete healing. Medicines don't heal, they treat. In foolishness, a person would stop taking their medicine before they see the physical manifestation of 1Peter 2:24 in their life.
---Rickey on 12/15/06

Mustard seed faith works if there is no doubt. James 1:6&7 says,"But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave on the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive anything from the Lord." Faith is a decision. You make the decision to have miracle working faith and stick to it no matter what anyone says and God will prove his word true.
---faye4464 on 12/15/06

Donna,

YOU WROTE: A preacher said, "When you do all you can do in the natural, then God comes in and does the supernatural." Do you agree with this? because it does make perfect sense to me.

I agree, except I would add that there is nothing super than the natural (God). *IT* is ONE BODY, ONE HEART, ONE MIND, ONE SOUL, ONE SPIRIT, ONE UNIVERSE OR ONE GOD.

2/ Donna, we are all interconnected in this ONENESS. *IT* is supernatural to those who do not understand the natural and *IT* is a mystery to those who do not have the secrets or keys to the mysteries.

Peter8365, if you are still out there, do you agree? If yes, please elaborate. I mentioned you because I have heard of one of the two books you mentioned on another blog. This is an excellent blog.

That is similar to what I like to tell people. You do what you can and leave the rest up to God. or You do what is right and leave the consequences up to God.

In Colossians 1:17 the Scripture say,"And he is before all things, and by him all things consist". If any healing is understood to be continuing to consist it would seem appropriate to say that Almighty God is responsible for all healing. Said healing coming from prayer or the hand of a doctor.
---Mima on 12/15/06

There are many people who have been injured seriously, even shot point blank, and Jesus healed them so quickly they needed no doctor. There were times when Jesus couldn't do many miracles because of the lack of faith in the city. Luke 10:19 says, "Behold I give unto you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you." (Serpents and scorpions are names of demons.) Jesus gave that authority to all believers.
---faye4464 on 12/15/06

Wise decision, Mike. God definitely does guide the physicians hands in diagnosis, treatment or surgery for healing. Try lying in a icy street with a broken leg or arm. It would only be a short time before your mustard seed of faith would call for the doctor. Shattered bones, heart attacks require immediate medical attention.
---R.A. on 12/15/06

I would also like to mention, that soldiers in Iraq with gunshot wounds need immediate medical attention. Physicians are servants of the Great Physician. I believe it is a calling for those that operate with excellence. Like pastors, some are 'sent' and some just 'went'.
---R.A. on 12/15/06

Doctors did not get their knowledge from God. They got their knowledge by cutting up the human body and studying it. Many, many times they have learned something wrong because they came to a wrong conclusion. If the knowledge had come from God it wouldn't be wrong at all. If the prescription drugs were from God they wouldn't have any side effects at all. There are no side effects with God.

Healing is done by you. It is the recognition made by you that there is nothing wronge here. Did you ever notice how medicine only works if you believe that it will prior to taking it. Why do you think Buckley's caugh syrop say's "It dosn't taste good, but it works". The people that see that commercial then buy it and drink it with FAITH it will work. That is precisely why it does work. FAITH.
---Peter8365 on 12/15/06

Man is made in the image of God he gives us talent to think, paint, do things, study etc. So God does use Doctors and their knowledge since knowledge comes from God but it is still God letting the meds work, keeping the surgeons hands steady. He also uses good old prayer without anyone around even sometimes and the Bible also. It says any sick among you have the elders anoint them with oil and pray the prayer of faith so obedience is another key. God is wonderful and uses many avenues to touch his people.
---Jeanne on 12/15/06

1/Excellent question! No doctor will tell you he/she heals anyone. The doctor will reset a broken bone or even insert a screw to keep the bone straight. However, God does the healing. The doctor will treat the cut and even stitch it up, but God does the healing. You have seen this happened in you life. Most, if not all of us, have had cuts we treat at home and it heals without the help of a doctor. The body, which is the TEMPLE OF GOD, heals itself!
---I_AM_I on 12/15/06

2/ Doctors serve their purpose, however. If you need IMMEDIATE medical attention, get to the nearest emergency room (and pray it is a good hospital!) or see a doctor (and pray he/she is not ALL about the $$ and merely wants to drug you up!). Some hospitals have become morgues and some doctors have become drug pushers! If your condition does not require emergency attention, you are better off trying some herbs, supplement or other alternative non-medical treatments.

3/ For instance, if you have a UTI, 100% PURE (not from concentrate) cranberry juice will kill the bacteria immediately and you will eliminate it. You can find this and many other herbal treatments for all kinds of ailments in many nutritional books (a good book is A Prescription For Nutritional Health written by a MD and a nutritionist). Make sure you drink 1 gallon of water per day, instead of the 6-10 glasses (10oz) recommended.
---I_AM_I on 12/15/06

4/ On the days you play sports, drink about 1 and gallons. As important as water is FASTING, which releases TOXINS from the body and gives our entire systems needed REST so that we can heal ourselves. Long (10-20 days) and short (2-5) fasts during the year are necessary to get rid of food stored in our system for months or even years.
---I_AM_I on 12/15/06

5/ More important than the water is keeping our THOUGHTS pure and positive. Get rid of hate, jealousy, resentment, bitterness, etc. These are thoughts that make us physically sick. As is written in Proverbs 23:7: *As a man thinketh in his heart, so he is.* So you think, so you are! We are truly what we think. ALL we are arises with our thoughts. With our thoughts, we make the world, as God did in Genesis!
---I_AM_I on 12/15/06

6/ God spoke the world into being, because God*s word is LIFE, as Scripture shows! When we change or correct our hateful, resentful, jealous, in short, NEGATIVE thoughts, the diseased condition disappears! Indeed, when we reduce life to its ESSENTIALS or ESSENCE, the body and the spiritual are ONE! They share the same LIFE FORCE or ENERGY, which we call GOD.

The concept of being a doctor is sanctioned in scripture. Luke is refered to as "Our beloved physician." Col 4:14 A doctor needs patients to treat.

Paul told Timothy to "take a little wine for thy stomach's sake.
1 Timothy 5:23 Drink no longer water, but use a little wine for thy stomach's sake and thine often infirmities.

These two verses alone demonstrate that there is a place for doctors and medicine.

It takes faith to move the hand of God. It is okay if one is in pain to go to the Dr. God gave the Doctor's knowledge to understand the human body. And for them to help us. A doctor found out by an CT scan that my right kidney had to be removed. If it wasn't for him knowing what to do, I wouldn't be here now. Doctors don't heal their paitents, they just mend us.

I have never found one instance in the Word where Jesus told a man, woman, boy, or girl who came to Him to be healed to go to the doctor. Jesus told her that her faith had made her well.

It is by ever stripe of Christ Jesus that we are HEALED. Just because someone is a Christian does not mean that everything they say or do is going to be perfectly what a Christian should be saying or doing. There is only one who is perfect and without sin. When ever talking to Christians or even non-Christians, keep in mind that we are all walking out our own salvation, in coming to or being with Christ. Take everything you hear and try it in the Spirit.
