Are False Prophets Mentally Ill
Stan, You leave the judging to God..seems your the one loosing the mind judging by your question...
---Pam on 1/26/08|
False prophets, false doctrine are destructive tools the enemy uses to destroy souls.
Desire can be destructive.
Desire to be a prophet is not the same as being called.
Desire without being called becomes control and manipulation. False prophets have desire but their end will be,
Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
I never knew you, depart from Me, ye that work iniquity.
---Mike on 1/11/08|
Is compulsive lying mental illness or a choice?
If the false prophet suffers from compulsive lying - is it mental illness or a choice?
If anyone follows a false prophet with mental illness and/or compulsive lying..you will end up in a state of confusion.
God is not the author of confusion.
---Mike on 1/11/08|
If you believe in the words of a false prophet, you have indeed opened yourself up to the same demonic influences that are "guiding" the false prophet. GOD warns against false prophets for they speak NOT from GOD but from lies of Satan. I personally have "fallen" for a false prophecy and false teachings before and it's NOT WORTH risking your Salvation and personal standing with GOD. It's good to always pray for protection against false doctrines, false teachings, and false prophecies.
---Gordon on 1/11/08|
Many people think 'mentally ill' means 'stark raving mad'. However, there are many degrees of mental illness, just like physical illnesses.
For example, I have an irrational fear of bees. This is called a neurosis. This means I am 'mentally ill' but does not impair my judgment of ability to function any more than a physical illness like an allergy.
---StrongAxe on 1/10/08|
No true man or woman of God is going to follow false teachings. Not if you stay with God.
---catherine on 1/9/08|
false prophets have demonic issues, some will believe doctrine outside the scriptures, i met one who was casting out demons, but did not believe that Noah was the only one with his family during the flood, a false prophet has the demons,,,also false prophet can be outside the church such as divination, etc,,I know this because I had my divination demon removed, man I got sick! then the truth came in though after

We do not quote the right scriptures. Way to busy telling people-- what to do, what to say, where to go, how to go, when to go,how to tell it, when to tell it. So here is one for you=="What is it to you, you follow me". It is in the bible, you look it up. I believe it is in MATTHEW.
---CATHERINE on 2/1/07|
jana, I preach the truth and sometimes the truth steps on a few toes. And Jesus DID step on a few toes in His day. I'm not trying to win a popularity contest. I'm simply exposing the lies of false doctrine (which IS Christ-like) and the truth of Gods word. I don't believe in sugar coating falsehood. Do you think Jesus walked around sugar coating false gospels and false prophecies? I don't think so.

Then Kay can u provide evidence of this statement? Can u provide photocopy of this or is this just heresay. Be careful with your insulting statements 4 I know, it is not true. I have more evidence of this than u have n it has nothing 2do with mental illness. It was made up to discredit the church just as u try 2 discredit what we present as biblical teaching. Your insulting attitude is not one that represents Christ but the enemy. Preach positive teachings sister.

"Stan it depends on who u r clobbering here. It sounds like EGW then I will tell you this, she was not a mental case as some on this blog wrongly stated."
jana, her own doctor diagnosed her with mental illness.
---Kay6588 on 1/30/07|
"Can any one on this blog hold out straight a heavy bible as EGW did?"
Do you honestly believe that? I don't think her own family believed that one.
---Kay6588 on 1/30/07|
"The devil dont like bibles n so didnt do it. whom did EGW get such strength from 2 hold the bible 4 a long time?God of cause. We 2 often n quick 2 judge."
jana, since some believe that EGW held up a Bible for a certain amount of time, that automatically makes her a prophet of God?
Satan uses the Bible all the time. Look at the many cults in the world. Just because a Bible is involved doesn't mean Satan isn't behind it.
---Kay6588 on 1/30/07|
Stan it depends on who u r clobbering here. It sounds like EGW then I will tell you this, she was not a mental case as some on this blog wrongly stated. She lost much of her strength after the attack by the young lady tho yet conscious of her ability 2 have visions. Can any one on this blog hold out straight a heavy bible as EGW did? The devil dont like bibles n so didnt do it. whom did EGW get such strength from 2 hold the bible 4 a long time?God of cause. We 2 often n quick 2 judge.

Are you mentally ill, do you need some help.
Is there someone close you can reach out to?
---anonymous on 1/19/07|
They gave them drugs or coercion to cause false prophecy and then attempted to make some of them mentally ill and then they tried to control their thoughts actions and behaviors. They are the Demonic Occult Sciences of manufactureres

Don't look at it as loosing your mind, but as loosing "your way."
If that happens when you are not saved -- you're lost (at lease until you're found)...
If you are saved, you have the Holy Spirit and the discernment to eventually see the folly --- and get back on track with God.
The best way to stay on track in the first place, is to see the danger coming (by keeping up on the Word of God)-- and steering clear...

FALSE PROPHETS, GOD HATES THEM. ARE they mentally ill, I do not know about all of them. I don't understand why they bother pretending to be something that they are not. THEY are misleading a lot of people. I will tell you what GOD said to me about the mind.==="noone is 100% in the mind".[IF you are walking close to GOD, satan cannot have dominion over you].

Many in our church said they had a prophecy that our pastor's wife would recover from something incurable. She didn't and I think the huge desire for her to recover brought on those prophecies. Nobody went crazy for believing them for months but I must say I am somewhat fearful of believing any more when they prophecy.
---Virginia on 1/15/07|
lilly, I believe you have misunderstood Mrs. Morgan.
---Kay on 1/7/07|
you r absolutely wrong there Mrs Morgan. Prophecies after prophecies has already come 2 the fore and u r rebuking God in His prophecies from His own book. The bible has predicted of the stars falling, the moon turn red, etc but I need to get back 2 u on that to prove 2 u of its coming to the fore.
---lilly on 1/6/07|
Monet - Not everyone who posts on these Blogs is a Christian. There is much conflict when people who are not Christian bring their wrong teachings and it has to be corrected. That is why it looks to you like we are all having a big fight. We're not though. :)
---Helen_5378 on 1/5/07|
Stan, no I didnt cos I am looking and you be the last I be coming to considering your cheeky question...r u truly christian? I expected u to give me some apiritual food...not rebuke
---monet on 1/5/07|
Stan, you sound like the one whose loosing mind over attacking others who deligently do their duty to God. What have u done Stan, apart from judging? Why dont u preach good stuff instead of asking questions to discredit a church? Is that christian Stan? And r u christian? Poor JWs etc truly get a bashing from this site..preach the word people, not attacking..
---billy on 1/5/07|
Mrs. Morgan..Yes, I know what you mean. The other day while surfing through television channels, I noticed a big headline while a televangelist (supposedly) was preaching. The headline said, "God wants you to strike it rich!" That's the mentality of so many today. God has much more than financial riches in store for HIS faithful!
---Susie on 1/5/07|
Monet...Not everyone posting on here is a Christian. But, you can be one by simply believing that Jesus Christ was the Son of God who came to earth and died on the cross for your sins. Read Chapter 3 of John in the Bible. Jesus will explain it to you himself in that chapter.
---Susie on 1/5/07|
Some single out certain denominations because they had false prophets,What Christian denomination hasn't had them? Today you see them rattling off nonsense prophecies that don't come to pass 100%, various denominations still embrace those false prophecies, making excuses for their error.Sticking to the basic Foundation of God's Truth, ignoring nonsense,Crucial. Checking the"track record"of "prophets" if there are inconsistencies, and If the prophecies are in-line with the Word,Crucial.

Monet, did you see yourself in one of the descriptions below, maybe that was conviction.
Do not be offended, accept Jesus Christ as your Lord.
---Stan on 1/5/07|
It is very interesting to read these blogs on a christian site. I thought all are christians yet reading thru the lines, you tear each other apart..very interesting but no thanks if christianity is this..you portray it as evil to be christian..NO THANKS TO YOU..
---Monet on 1/5/07|
stan it depends on who u r talking about. if u r about the sdas, then Praise The Lord, they r the most attacked church on earth. WHY, I wonder. Satan like to attack Christ, satan dont like truth, satan hates believers following a true teaching, so where does that leave the poor sdas. AMEN. Jesus saying "You will be accused becos of Me" goes to confirm this..Amen. We dont mind being called names. God loves us the true worshippers of Christ. Now who r the mentally unstable brains then..
---briar on 1/5/07|
Intelligence and mental illness are completely separate issues. You can have an IQ of 135 or 140 and be mentally ill.
---Joel on 1/4/07|
I sure would love to say yes they are mentally ill. The biggest thing is that most seem to be very intelligent, but pretty dumb when it come to teaching the bible.
If you follow false doctrine and false prophets, will you lose your mind along with your salvation? You will for sure take on their spirit. Wouldn't say you would lose your salvation.
If your false prophet is mentally ill, will you be of the same spirit here on earth? In most cases.
---TDG on 1/4/07|
Since they don't have "the mind of Christ", false prophets aren't in their "right mind". (Phil. 2:5-18) When one follows a false prophet, one periously adhers to his/her errors. (Matt.15:7-14)
---Leon on 1/4/07|
anonymous..Yes, I know what you mean. Often times I see things that are very, very close to spiritism which is scary!
---Susie on 1/4/07|
The longer you are here, do you find yourself spotting false doctrine immediately?
It just flashes like a neon light right back at you. Wrong, false, turn away, run. False gospels can be deceiving, stay here and study, your false meters will be tweaked and tuned up.
---anonymous on 1/3/07|
I believe that in order to believe false doctrine and follow it, you would have to have a demonic influence, not a mental illness.
---Susie on 1/3/07|

I don't think you will lose your mind, and if you are truly saved it won't cause you to lose your salvation. There is one particular cult who follows the teachings of a false prophet who had mental problems. Their logic seems to line up with their prophets logic. Even though they know that she had mental problems they still blindly follow her.
---Kay on 1/2/07|
I don't believe I've ever seen an example of anything this serious happening. Evil communications corrupt good lifestyles so it doesn't matter what the person is labeled I'd stay a distance away except to evangelize. I've heard false doctrine and prophets before and I'm still saved and sane.
---john on 1/2/07|
There is a concept in Eastern Christian teaching called "prelest." It starts off with pride and faulty Christology, continues to building up a cult following around oneself, and ends up with a tendency to destroy oneself and others.
Jim Jones is an excellent example.
There are certain false teachings, such as A COURSE IN MIRACLES, that tend to end up in mental illness.
---Jack on 1/2/07|
This must be one of the strangest questions I have ever seen on here!
