John, no one can see the Father, but many saw Jesus Christ in the incarnation. We have to remember that the person of Jesus was born. He was the physical person that was just like us. He suffered a lot of pain for the sins of many, even to death.
He was given a name when He grew up. When He grew up, He grew up maybe not in the same conditions we did. He died at the Cross. The Son was always the Son, He never became the Son, He was the Son for always. He is Spirit for He is God.
---Luke on 11/3/15

Cluny, I believe that John 4:22,23 is not talking about the Trinity. (The hour is coming), Here Jesus is talking about His crucifixion, resurrection, and ascension to God. The point is that in light of His coming as Messiah and Savior, worshippers will be identified, not by a particular shrine or location, but by their worship to the Father through the Son. They are therefore distinguished between the true worshippers and those who are false. (For the Father is seeking such to worship Him) true worshippers are all those everywhere who worship God through the Son, from the heart. Just check (Phil. 3:3).

What does God look like? He looks like you and me. Made in his image we are. We should see God in every person!
---john1944 on 11/2/15

AMEN. Thank you for all the Scriptures! Maybe this one was already shared but another one that comes to mind is Revelation 1:10-18 ... " like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about with a golden girdle.
His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow, and his eyes were as a flame of fire,
...and out of his mouth went a sharp sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength..."
Of course, I guess this would be after His assention.
What an amazing day when we will see Him face to face!

There are somethings that we can state from scripture:
1. He did not have long hair.
The Apostle Paul states in 1 Cor 11:14 that it is a shame for a man to have long hair.
The jews at the time of Christ life here on earth wore their hair short.
Song of Sol 5:10,11 describe him as having curly black hair.

2. He wasn't attractive to look on. By his appearance he did not stand out in a crowd.
Isa 53:2, John 20:15, John 5:13, John 7:11, etc.

3. After the crucifixion:
Rev 1:14.

Hope that helps.

\\John 4:24 - God is a spirit : and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth,
---RichardC on 3/19/15\\

You forgot the rest of the quote: "for the Father seeketh such to worship him."

Spirit, Truth (Jesus is truth incarnate), and Father.

If this is not a Trinitarian reference, I don't know what is.

Glory to Jesus Christ!

"What does Jesus/God look like?"
"No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him." Jhn 1:18
Jesus said, "If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also, and from now on you know Him and have seen Him." Jhn 14:7
"Philip said to Him, "Lord, show us the Father, Jesus said to him, "Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father," Jhn 14:8,9
As for Jesus, "He had no form or comeliness that we should look at him, and no beauty that we should desire him." Isa 53:2
Therefore I would conclude that He looked like the average man.
---josef on 8/25/13

No man has seen God at any time because God Is a Spirit. The only we can see God Is through the flesh of Jesus Christ.

I do Not believe in those phony pict's of Jesus being good looking & like a long - haired hippy.

Jesus was a lowly & even like homely man.
His beauty is in what He has done & what He Is still doing.
---Lawrence on 7/26/10

Go to artakiane, to see what JESUS REALLY DOES LOOK LIKE. After going to her sight, tell me what you think.
---Cynthia_1 on 4/2/07

Mishon--Yes it surely is. I could not survive without Jesus Christ. Have a great Sunday.
---catherine on 4/1/07

Catherine, I agree God does have a sense of humour. God looks like you & me, cos when I'm looking at you, I'm looking at Jesus. And the more we fellowship with the Lord, the more of Him will be seen in us. We, His children look like their Heavenly Father. Great to be apart of the Family of God, isn't it?

sue, John was given his revelation of Christ by the angel Revelation 1:1,10-16, it was not a physical visit by Jesus, and it was similar to the vision in Daniel's dream he had in Daniel 7:1,9-14, and again it was not a physical visit by Jesus.

Cynthia, Thomas needed a sign.

Jesus told Thomas, "Blessed are those who have not seen, and yet believe."

We've never seen the Lord Jesus physically, and yet we believe the testimony written in the bible concerning him. We accept the words in the bible as truth. When a person sets out on the road of faith, it is uncharted territory.
---Lime_intheCoconut on 3/30/07

Those who have walked a long time on the road of faith know, the Lord does not disappoint. Though He is invisible and we cannot see, smell, touch, or taste Him, we still know He is real. We've learned to live in another realm, a world of the spiritual, and it is just as real as the one we live in physically.
---Lime_intheCoconut on 3/30/07

God is a spirit, when is says his features like "arm" "nostrils"etc it is metiphorically/simile speaking, like when Jesus illistrated things in the sermon on the mount. However his son Jesus was born into a Jewish family & according to history Jewish people of that time & today are tan colored with dark brown maybe black hair, we donot know,

If you go to Akianneart you can see what He looks like, at the age of four Akianne was taken up to Heaven and she came back down and painted Jesus beautifully.

Daniel 7:9 I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire.

Daniel 7:13 I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.

Daniel saw the Father and saw the Son of God Jesus Christ, receive his throne.

If you want to know what the angels Gabriel and Michael look like try the find an old book by Pastor Roland Buck. I can't remember the name of it right now but Pastor Buck was an AOG preacher in Idaho who claimed he was visited by angels for several months. He was also given a list of 120 prophecies written on parchment that came to pass. One of them was the name of the new pope - Karol Wojtyla.

Eloy, I read somewhere in Revelation that He had hair as "white as snow".

Jesus has been depicted many ways in art, but if people want to know what He looks like, research the characteristics of Semitic Peoples of His time. There has been significant mixing within the Jewish peoples, they have been scattered among different nations. I saw an archeology program that showed an artifact with an painted engraving of one of the Apostles dating some 2000 years ago, He looked ethnic . I would classify that appearance as being "other" or "Middle Eastern". God Bless!
---Mrs._Morgan on 1/6/07

Are you for real, Eloy?

Jesus, are Your eyes blue? Green? brown? Shining bright like the Son?
Jesus, Your hair, is it really black?
Jesus, are You "white" or a combination of all races?
Jesus, are You wearing a caftan, or a white robe of Righteousness because You are Righteousness?

Jesus, are You wearing a crown, You are the King.
---Trace on 1/6/07

Seeing Jesus firsthand, he is white, and has dark brown eyes which looks right inside of me, and he has long black hair which looks curled on the sides, and he has a short beard, and he wears a caftan gown, and he is crowned with a tall bishops miter.

The best way to explain it is, go look into the mirror. God created us in his own image, we are beautiful, everyone single one of us is beautiful. We have to be, because God doesn't make anything that is ugly.
