What's God saying to you specifically? How is He calling you?

I often wonder why everyone wants to go to Afica alone, when men/women in our own countries are growing up not even remotely understanding about the real life of Christ accept at Christmas times, What about Jamaica and the small Islands or are they there just to visit and have a good time. There is a great challenge there many would love to have a proper building just to hold children church but their forgotten by the missionaries.

Some mission organizations I worked with had me give personnel profiles to potential missionarys. On one occassion, I suggested to this mission they reject one of the applicants. They weren't suited for the type of mission work they were going to be doing based. Later, they admitted it was more of an emotional thing then the Lord's calling. If God is calling - do not hesitate, but just make sure He is calling in not someone else. It would hurt you if He is calling and you don't go.

Burdens are wonderful blessings, however; they are feelings... not choices! Faith and trust being necessary to follow every call of God are choices... not feelings! Born-again children drawing close to their Savior can not help but be burdened for other peoples or their plights. While these feelings are a blessing, they are not a call. If and when God calls you to Africa, or any other place, it will be without repentance... and... will require a deliberate choice of submission by faith.

Yes it is wrong. If God is calling you to do something, then you'de better do it. If you don't you will be miserable and God won't bless you like he would if you accepted the calling. God has called you to do this for a reason. You may not know the reason but God knows best.

janea, want to know what scares me about your question? You say, "I feel" instead of "I know" or "I'm being led by the Spirit and being drawn to Africa." Go to God and ask Him, "Father, is this you that is giving me this feeling? Because I know you usually lead by the unction of your Holy Spirit and please make it clear to me so I know for sure. Pray that prayer every day until you HEAR from God and not just feel it.

1. If God is indeed calling you to go ANYWHERE, it would be a sin not to go.

2. What makes you think it's AFRICA? Are there not people who need Jesus right near you? Remember Jesus's words to the Bible experts of His day, "You cross the seas to make one convert..."

You will be miserable until you fulfill the calling that God has put on your life. I know. Been there, done that! Why would you not obey the call?

Do you not want to go, Jamea? If so, why not?

Some are sent, and some just went.

Fast and pray. Seek God to see if it's a true calling, if not, it will flop.
