What Is A Radical Christian
A "radical" Christian is what those who adhere to liberal theology call fundamentalist Christians who actually believe what the Bible says and try to live by it. Ask yourself what is the opposite of a "radical" Christian? A lukewarm one?

The word radical comes from the Latin radix ("root"), if applied to any belief, practice, analysis or proposal:
Means: Blunt, that does not accept average.
Not to be confused with extremist or fanatic who have other meanings outside deep insights into things.
Someone who is Bold when it comes to the Word of God.
The Boldness of David(Would have been Considered a Radical), The Jews thought that Jesus was a Radical

Radical Christian: I must obey God no matter what. I started out with that idea.

Radical for Christ is fine as long as we maintain the image of Christ and everything He was about. Many radical Christians have gone off the deep end and have caused a lot of harm to themselves and others. If this is what radical is..I dont want any part of it. We need to be balanced in order to be witnesses for Christ.

I completely agree with Elizabeth. That should be the dictionary definition of "radical Christian". We should all strive to be so radical. :-)

A Radical Christian is someone with zeal for Christ, On fire for God, has a true relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ, who is Christ-like,who reads the Word, Who lives the Word, Who does the Word, Who loves God with all of their Mind, heart, soul and Strength, and who has completely sold out to God...And who is completely possessed by the Holy Spirit...
Is this Radical enough?

Several local churches refer to me as a radical Christian. I have only been called a radical Christian in a face-to-face confrontation one time. Why do they call me a radical Christian? 1. Because I actively engage in witnessing to as many people as I can. 2. Because I believe salvation is granted to everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord to save them. Continued

Part 2- 3. Because I support all who make an effort to be soulwinners. 4. And because I believe that the fruit of the righteous is souls won(I referred to Proverbs 11:30) I have no problem with being called a radical Christian. Because I understand that to most Christians my views are radical. The same churches that call me a radical Christian eagerly accept the people who have been saved after hearing my witness.

Thanks for your ideas and opinions. The members of a charismatic church that I have attended just a few times refer to themselves as radical Christians. I wondered why they use this term when other very similar churches do not. Next time I go(which will not be until the Summer) I might just ask them what they mean by the term. If I get a helpful answer I'll pass it on.

I'd rather use the word "devoted" or "dedicated" than "radical" which sounds a bit abrasive.
We have many radicals today in this world who are doing lots of harm.
When I hear the word "radical" I see fanaticism, violence, irrationality and other unpleasant adjectives.

To me being a radical Christian means that you will tell the truth even when it gets you kicked off web sites when you cross their goody-goody worldly buddy Jesus doctrines of damnable heresy.

A radical Christian is a person who does not conform to any one religion, who does not conform to the world like many Christian churches do, who uses the Sabbath day unselfishly (reading, studying, meditating, pondering God's word, fasting, attending to the needs of the poor, turning off your electonic gizmos - the TVs, radio, ipods, computers, phones, going to the park and listen to the whispers of God)

radical means ready, willing, steadfast in the Lord but most of all on fire for the Lord, to teach, to preach and not be ashamed to do what the Lord has called you out to too..

Radical means that you are willing to preach the Gospel no matter the cost. It means that you are willing to die for Christ for preaching the Gospel. It means you are a TRUE soldier, not a wimp. I AM one of the few and proud Radicals for Jesus.

Jesus was radical, no servant is greater than their master, and there then the reason the name Christian is so appropriate to those who follow him.
