Did Enoch Translate Up To Heaven

The popular belief is that Enoch and Elijah were translated up to heaven where God abides. This is taken from these Scriptures: Gen 5:14; 2 Kings 2:1; 2 Kings 2:11; Hebrews 11:5. However, if this is true then why did Jesus stated that "And no man hath ascended up to heaven..(John 3:13)."?

Ramon, No doubt the Lord meant [within ones own power]. When we get our glorified bodies, I believe that we will have the same type of "freedom of movement" like God's holy angels have. God Bless!

greetings.True,no man has ascended into heaven.Man is mortal and flesh and blood.Flesh and blood cannot ascend. The ascender is given another form, regains consciousness and begins a new life where he or she left this world.Where man was once recognized as a man here on this world he is now recognized as an ascended being. The personality no longer exists in the human form of a man. There are some who say they went to heaven and walked in the flesh. It cannot be done

Here is the reason that I love Christian. Just look at the answer given by---ShawnM.T. I been studying Christianity for at least 45 years and I have never heard this idea about Abraham's bosom before.
---Mima on 1/25/07

I believe that they reside in Abrahams Bosom; waiting for the day that they will be sealed in the forehead by the Lord, and then enter into heaven (Rev. 7:3-4). Christ stated that no man may enter the Kingdom of Heaven least he be born again. And I know that Enoch was before Abraham, but dont get caught up on time lines; remember, Abrahams Bosom is more of a holding place out of time; than actually Abrahams Bosom.

These are the only two men that have not seen death. They will be the two witness that the book of Revelation talks about. The bible says every man is appointed to die once. so Enoch and Elijah have to come back to earth to die so they can join God in the New Jerusalem.

Enoch was taken by God because "he was not". He was not evil like the rest of his family so God took him

Enoch and Elijah were taken up to heaven--however, they may not experience heaven the same way that someone who has died in Christ experiences it--their weak and imperfect human bodies may not be able to experience the fullness of the Beatific Vision--con't.

#2. Indeed, the Beatific Vision may be keeping their bodies from undergoing aging (as we understand it). Do they get the full benefits of heaven as someone who has died in Christ? I don't know, nor do I think I will until I meet Jesus, and then I will have other matters on my mind.

** The RCC rejected it by (I believe) one vote at an early council. **

The RCC is a product of the Council of Trent. It did not exist in its present form during the age of the councils.

greetings.Jesus plainly stated to Nicodemus man cannot enter the knigdom or enter heaven unless he is born again.

Jhn 3:13 "No one has ascended into heaven, but He who descended from heaven: the Son of Man.
---Ryan on 1/11/07

No man, that is, flesh and blood, has entered into heaven. Although Enoch and Elijah went to heaven they could not have entered in their flesh and blood because flesh and blood does not enter heaven.
---john on 1/11/07

There are several non-Biblical texts refer to what happened to Enoch. There is thre Book of Enoch, many early Christians accepted it as scripture. The RCC rejected it by (I believe) one vote at an early council. His writings are refered to in Jude-verse 14. I own the Book of Enoch.

Jesus left out the rest of the sentence BECAUSE

John 3:13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven...in his own power, the son of man comes and goes and yet is human like yourself.

Jesus was and yet is God's check mate to another who'd love to claim your eternal torment as his entertainment.
